"oh thank God.." ember whispered to herself seeing the big red ink marked with an "A+" and "good job:)"

she didn't think she was going to pass this test but luckily all the studying she did was enough. she was studying even while getting ready for her fashion show.

never in her life has she gotten anything under an A and she planned to keep it that way.

"what'd you get?" jules whispered. she flipped her paper over to where jules could see it

jules smiled knowing her bitch would get a good grade. she didn't understand why she stressed so hard she is literally so smart she could scan over the study guide once and ace it.

"rue what did you get?" ember asked and rue handed her paper over. ember gasped.

"oh my gosh i am so proud of you!!" she said offering a fist bump and rue happily took it

rue got an A. she was normally a C or D average student so this was a huge deal. ember had helped her study before leaving for italy friday and it totally paid off.

rue was lowkey happy and proud of herself. she was grateful to have ember, someone that took time out of their busy schedule to help her.

she definitely appreciates it. "thank you ember."

"don't thank me, you did it!!" ember exclaimed.

"yeah but if it wasn't for you pushing me or coming over to help it wouldn't have happened so i thank you." rue smiled gently

ember leaned over to kiss rues check, "you know i always got you."

jules looked over at the two and smiled. she loved their cute friendship. it seemed to be growing each and every single day.

she felt like ember was good for rue. maybe even gooder than her but she wasn't mad at it at all. she loved it.

"okay class your next assignment will be an project. i am going to put you into groups of two and no you cannot nor will i change the groups under any circumstances."

"fucking shit." rue mumbled.

she was hoping that she didn't get paired with nate, jules was over there hoping and thinking the exact same thing.

"alright so the first group is going to be ember evans and nate jacobs." the teacher said and rue and jules mouth dropped to the floor

ember wasn't even really freaking out, maybe it was because she was so excited that rue got her first A ever. meanwhile nate was behind her smirking evilly.

jules and rue leaned up to look at each other with fear in their eyes.

it was after class and ember was at her locker. she quickly looked over at the picture of her and her sister. she missed her like crazy.

she planned on coming to visit in the upcoming weeks and she was literally counting down the days. same with her brother. she couldn't wait to see them.

suddenly she felt a tall shadowy figure behind her. "hey ember." she knew the voice. she immediately turned around looking up at nate's talk self

"hey!" she said. nate was being just as calm, cool and collected as ever.

"so when do you wanna like work on this project?" he asked looking into her eyes which for some reason made her nervous.

her phone suddenly started ringing she looked down to see it was her agent. "need to get that?"

"um no it's just my agent i'll call her back." she quickly muted her phone so it would stop ringing so loudly

"we can start today if you want." ember said.

nate looked around, "i have football practice today, wanna start after i get out?" ember nodded

"yeah that works." she said. "where do you wanna study at my place or yours?"

"i live out of town and i wouldn't want you driving all the way out there, we can just study at your place." she stated and he smiled

"can i get your number so i can text you when to come over?" ember nodded. he handed her his phone and she quickly put her contact in. he was towering over her watching her every move

he stood up straight when she looked up. "here you go." nate smiled, "i'll text you later."

"okay." she smiled. "bye." he said walking off

ember then got herself together and headed to the restroom. she did a mirror check and applied some lip gloss.

the bathroom door opened to maddy. there was no one else in there so it was silent. "i would be careful if i were you."

ember turned around and looked at maddy, "what do you mean?" ember asked

"nate isn't what you think he is. he is a monster." maddy warned. ember shook her head.

"honestly, it's nothing like that. we got paired together for a class project. i don't want to get into the way of your guys relationship." ember stated nicely

maddy raised her eyebrows, "people talk. i've heard that you guys are in a on and off toxic relationship."

she stayed silent and was reading ember down to the core. she could tell this girl was sweet, she isn't mad at her. she hasn't done anything wrong and she isn't nor does she plan to bully or make this girls life a living hell.

"i'm not used to a girl respecting my relationship with nate..." it was silent, "any other girl wouldn't give two fucks."

"if anything does happen between you i won't be mad, i swear." maddy stated with seriousness

"i can't even be mad that.. that he is taking a big interest in you. you are gorgeous and seem like a really sweet girl." maddy complimented

ember stayed silent for a second. "you are pretty too." she said making maddy smile

"my friends and i are going bowling later tonight, you wanna join us?" maddy asked

ember smiled, "yeah sure."
