Nico

"Starship E30 to Mission Command, Starship E30 to Mission Command. Am I coming in clear?" Olly asked, listening over his headphones. After a couple seconds, Olly turned to me. "Nico, we're good to fly towards Kereberos."

"Got it." I said, steering the ship's controllers in the simulated sky. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Frank's face turn green. "Frank... you good?"

"I'm fine..." Frank said wearily.

"Don't you dare throw up in here Frank." Leo said menacingly.

"I'm not gonna try to Leo, but if I do, chances are it's gonna be on you."

"Why you-"

"Will I have to turn this ship around?"   I asked as I heard Olly gag behind me. "You two are making both me and Olly sick."

"We are not!" Leo yelled. "Keep your eyes on the road Nico!"

"What road!?" I yelled. "We are literally in the middle of space!"

"Nico, watch out!" Olly yelled, springing out of his station and grabbing the wheel in front of me to avoid a cluster of asteroids. I could hear Frank hurling in the evac system.

Suddenly, the system shut down and our teacher, Mr. Thunderson, opened the door. "Holt, Valdes, Zhang, di Angelo, get out here now!"

We all filed out, heads down. Olly's shaggy brown hair fell over his eyes, Frank still looked green, and Leo had a mischievous look in his eyes. I just felt disappointed. Yet another failed simulator to add to my record.

We all lined up in front of our class, everyone glaring at us. Mr. Thunderson sighed heavily. "Can anyone say what this group did wrong?"

"Zhang hurled... again."

"di Angelo didn't keep is eyes on the path."

"Valdez didn't stay in the gunner's station."

"Holt left his station and took control of the spacecraft."

"All things you should not do!" Mr. Thunderson yelled. "I knew we shouldn't have accepted you three into this course!"

"Three, what about Olly?" Leo asked.

"Mr. Holt just transferred here this past semester at the top of his class." Mr. Thunderson said, sighing. "At this rate, you four will become another missing mission like the Kereberos Team solely because you'll be too busy arguing to see the area and you'll crash land..."

"They didn't crash and you know it." Olly said, being the most menacing I've ever heard him. The three of us took a step back from him, surprised to hear something that venomous come out of Olly, who is usually so quiet.

Mr. Thunderson stared at Olly for a solid ten seconds. Olly held his glare at Mr. Thunderson the entire time. I held my breath, afraid he might smite him. Then, he looked at the next group. "Go in."

We all walked away, headed back to our rooms. Olly didn't say a word to us. He just marched back to his room.

"If we're ever gonna get through this... we're gonna need to work together. Tonight, we sneak out!" Leo declared.

"What about Olly? Aren't we gonna- Woah!" Frank started asking, but the entire building started shaking and we fell on the ground.

"Ow..." I said miserably, rubbing my head after it got knocked against the wall.

All students stay in your dorms. That is an order.

"Meet back here after you get changed." Leo said fast, then ran to his room.

Frank and I shrugged at each other as we walked back to our rooms. I quickly put on a black shirt, black jeans, black boots, and my aviator jacket as I walked back into the hall, Leo wearing a green army jacket and jeans while Frank just shrugged on a purple sweatshirt and black jeans. I looked over at Olly's room and saw him walk out in a black sweatshirt and jeans, shouldering a giant bag over his shoulder as he ran to the roof stairwell.

"Come on." I said, pointing to the stairwell. "Olly went this way."

"Right." Leo said as we ran up the stairwell. The sky was pitch black, dotted with little white stars, the only things ruining the sky was a trail of grey smoke falling towards an area of the desert surrounding our school, where one dot of the sandy area was lit up with lights surrounding what looked like a space pod surrounded by a plastic bubble.

"Check it out." Frank said, pointing to the corner of the roof. Olly was sitting there, criss crossed with a laptop in his lap, a small satellite set up beside him, headphones over his ears as he looked intently at the scene below.

"Uh... Olly?" I asked. Olly jumped when he heard my voice, turning around and looking me in the face. His usually grey eyes were darker than usual, as if he had a million things clouding his judgement but didn't know how to vocalize it.

"What are you guys doing here?" Olly said accusingly.

"We could ask you the same thing." Leo said.

I glared at Leo. "We're supposed to be doing a team building activity so Thunderson doesn't yell at us again."

"Did you build all this yourself?" Frank asked, sitting down next to Olly.

"Yeah."

"What is it?"

"Reverse radio." Olly said, fiddling with his laptop. "I'm using it to pick up on their radio frequencies to listen in."

"Why?" Leo asked, sitting down next to the satellite dish.

"See that black ship thing there?" Olly asked.

"Well... yeah." Leo said, scratching his head. "It's kind of hard not to miss when there's a bunch of light on it."

"It's a Galra ship."

"A what ship?" I asked, looking out at the black ship. Someone wearing a hazmat suit walked into the ship, holding something in their gloved hand.

"Galra. It's a type of alien. Very hostile." Olly said, concentrating on the ship.

"How do you know that?" Frank asked.

"Well, my family collects alien technology. Not to mention, they keep mentioning Kerberos over the radio. Kerberos is a Galra colony." Olly said, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. "I think that ship is from the Kerberos Mission."

"You mean you think those are survivors?"

"I know they are." Olly said forcefully, packing up his equipment.

"How though?"

"Call it a hunch." Olly said, zipping up his bag and putting it over his shoulder. "Let's go."

"Go where?" Frank asked, concerned. "Down there?"

"Yeah." Olly said, patting Frank on the shoulder. "You're curious about this too, right Nico?"

"Consider it a team building exercise." I said, walking to the edge of the roof. "Let's go!"

After we walked to the sight, Olly turned the radio back on and listened into the conversation. He sighed heavily, but then his eyes got wide with shock as he dropped his laptop on the ground, scratching the bottom.

"Olly, what's wrong?"

"Th-They're keeping them captive." Olly said, shaking from either fear or anger. I couldn't tell which, his voice made the difference hard to tell. "They've been getting abused and torched for a year and they're keeping them captive."

"What?" Leo asked.

"There are two of them in there. Guys. Apparently they've been torched for the past year up there, but the Garrison people are keeping them captive because they think they're crazy. They keep saying that Voltron is the only way to save Earth. I know Voltron sounds familiar, but I can't place my finger on it..."

"Voltron?" I asked, confused.

"We have to save them." Olly said shakily.

"Looks like two people already beat us to it." Frank said, pointing to two figures walking towards the ship, taking down fighters along the way.

"WHAT!?" Leo asked as Olly quickly put away his things. "THAT'S OUR GLORY! LET'S GO!"

The four of us ran into the ship where the two figures, girls, were having trouble moving the two guys on the table. One of the guys kind of looked like a Roman god with his Mediterranean completion and strong looking body, but the scar on his cheek that looked like it came from a knife ruined the image. His hair was almost as black as the sky currently was and fell down in a mess at his ears. The other boy had close cropped blonde hair and a scar on his bottom lip, but it wasn't hard to notice that where is left arm should be was replaced by a metallic surface, dark and reflecting all the light in the room.

Then there were the two girls. They both wore a mask over their mouths, but I could see enough of their features to make out who they are. They both wore dark colors, but it was the small stuff, like how they stood, which helped differentiate them. One was older, maybe by a year or two, with long, dark brown hair pulled back into two braids at either side of her head and dark brown eyes. The younger one had curly light brown hair and dark brown skin that reminded me of chocolate. It was her eyes, however, that told me who she was. Bright and golden, like the sun.

"Hazel, what are you doing here?" I asked, crossing my arms as my half sister tore off her mouth mask.

"I could ask the same to you, bro. How've you been?" Hazel said cheerfully, looking down at the dark haired boy she was carrying. "I would hug you right now, but Reyna and I are trying to rescue these two."

The other girl, Reyna, tore off her mouth mask. "What are you guys doing here?"

"What do you think?" Olly asked, walking over and grabbing the other end of the dark haired boy's body. "Breaking them out of quarantine."

"We don't need your help."

"Actually Reyna-"

"Shut up Hazel."

"We're helping, so just accept it." I said, grabbing the blonde boy's feet. "Now let's go. Frank, Leo, make sure no one is coming. We'll run for your ship with these guys-"

"Percy and Jason." Olly interrupted. "Their names are Percy and Jason."

"How do you know that?" Reyna asked accusingly.

"I built a radio. They mentioned their names and I overheard it on my radio." Olly said a little too quickly. "Now are we going to get these two out of here or not?"

"And we'll escape real quick. The old house?" I said, attempting to get us back on track.

"Yeah, we can do that." Hazel said cheerfully.

"We're good to go!" Frank said, holding open the door.

"Okay guys. Let's move!" Olly said as he and Hazel started running towards the ship.

Reyna and I picked up the other boy wordlessly and ran to the ship and jumped in. We all didn't know it then, but this was all the start of an adventure no one saw coming.
