Chapter Nine

"Suddenly, I feel the odd man out," Trey said coming into the kitchen to find George and Sam kissing.

"Sorry, not enough women in the house to go around," George said wrapping his arms around Sam and kissed her on the cheek.

"George?" Trey asked gesturing with his index finger for him to come. George frowned, let go of Sam and crossed the kitchen. Trey leaned in and whispered in George's ear. "You hurt her and I'll drain every ounce of blood from of your body." Trey said and leaned up. "We clear?" Trey said with a smile as George's face turned white.

"Crystal," George said with a gulp.

Trey patted him enthusiastically on the shoulder and went over to the refrigerator and looked in,"Not a damn thing," he said looking over the full fridge.

"Oh, I could..." Sam offered pulling down the collar on her shirt.

"What the..." George said pulling on her shirt as well and looked at her neck. "You let him do this?"

"He was hungry," she shrugged.

"When?" George demanded.

"I can't take more from her," Trey said shaking his head. "It's too soon. I'll go out."

"Now, listen you son of a b..." George said slamming him up against the fridge.

"I'll let this go. Since you two just hooked up and all..." Trey said pushing him with his index finger but with such force George was thrown up onto the kitchen counter.

"George. Trey. Stop it!" Sam yelled

"He's making lunch out of you!" George yelled back.

"So?! Everyone else gives him blood. And Tony. And Isabella. What's the big deal?"

"The big deal is that..."

"What?" Sam asked.

"Spit it out, George. Be a man," Trey said tauntingly.

"Shut up, Trey!"

"Trey. Go," Sam told him. Trey shrugged and went out the side door towards the garage. "What's the matter with you?" Sam asked pushing George on both shoulders.

"I don't know." George said dragging his hands through his hair.

"Is this you? Or is this the demon Emily's been warning us about turning you into a jealous jerk?"

"I don't know, okay?!! I got all bent out of shape with Ray and Isabella and now you and Trey..."

"There is no me and Trey!"

"But there was," he said gesturing to her neck.

Sam sighed. "We sort of kissed the other night," she said quietly. George groaned and jumped down off the counter. "It meant nothing, I swear. We were both not in the right frame of mind. And I think what it came down to was his hunger and my curiosity."

George sighed. "Curiosity satisfied?" he asked putting a hand to her neck.

"Curiosity satisfied," she said putting her arms around his waist and kissed him.

"Where's Trey?" Jake asked coming into the kitchen. "And what the hell?" he said stopping and staring at them.

"Uh..." George stuttered.

"George and I hooked up," Sam said with a grin.

"Uh, yeah, I can see that," Jake said and took a breath. "Okay."

"You okay?"

"Yeah, whatever, you guys. That's cool... I think. Where's Trey?"

"He just went hunt...I mean, looking for some...ugh, never mind, hunting, he went hunting," George said. "For blood," he added as if he had to clarify.

"Shoot," Jake said throwing his sketch pad on the counter.

"What's that?" Sam asked picking it up.

"That's what I would like to know," Jake answered.

George took the sketch pad out of Sam's hands and looked at the drawing. It depicted Trey with his arms outstretched and a few feet away another guy was shown being slammed into a wall breaking it. "But Trey doesn't have any powers. He's a vampire," George said confused studying the drawing.

"He just threw you onto the counter," Sam countered.

"He what?" Jake demanded.

"Yeah, um, he just kind of pushed me with his finger and I flew up on the counter. Must be a vampire thing. Strength."

"I've never seen him do that. Or Tony," Jake said. "I know vampires are strong but to throw you onto the counter?"

"Let's ask Tony," George said rushing through the kitchen to the hallway.

"Why'd he throw you on the counter?" Jake asked racing after him.

"George was defending my honor," Sam said chasing them.

"Oh. Good job, then, " Jake said patting George's back as they ran down the steps to the basement.

"This better be good," Tony said zipping up his black leather jacket. "I was just about to go eat."

"What do you make of this?" Jake asked handing him the sketch pad.

"Creative," Tony said looking it over.

"No, I mean about Trey obviously throwing some guy up in the air and into a wall."

"Again, creative."

"Vampires don't have that strength."

"Yeah we do, but that's not how we do it," Tony said tapping the paper.

"What do you mean?" Sam asked.

"Well, vamps are just like humans. Almost anyway. What we do we can do is stronger, quicker. But the way he's positioned here...it's like... something that Ray would do. Moving someone mentally. A vamp...physically his body would be more like this," Tony said picking George up and throwing him as he weighed nothing onto his bed.

"Ow," George groaned, "Thanks for the demonstration," he added rubbing his back.

"Anytime," Tony said with a grin.

"So, he'd be in a picking up and throwing position?" Jake asked thoughtfully.

"Yeah. But that? That's what Ray does. It's just your overactive imagination, Jake. Not a premonition. Trey can't do that."

"I don't think so, Ton. I think it was a premonition. I don't make things up when I draw. Things just come to me. I think we should go talk to Ray."

"I don't get it," Ray said looking over the sketch.

"Neither do we, that's why we're asking you. How would you throw a guy? Can you show us?"

"Are you serious?" Ray asked wide-eyed.

"Do we look it?" Jake asked. Ray sighed and stood up. He put his hands up. "Do you have to put your hands up?" Jake asked studying him.

"I don't necessarily have to. But it helps me more effectively move things. I don't know how to explain it. It just helps me focus. Control it."

"Okay, so throw George," Jake told him.

"Hey! Why me all the time?" George protested

"Throw me," Tony spoke up.

"What?" Ray chuckled in nervous disbelief.

"Throw me."

Ray looked around the room, "There's not enough room in here."

"Outside then," Tony said and left Ray's room. They followed.

"So, what is the point of all this?" Sam asked as they went out the backdoor to the patio.

"The point is to find out what that son of mine has gotten himself into," Tony said crossing the yard creating some distance between them. "Okay, Ray, anytime you're ready."

"Cool," Ray said rubbing his hands together excitedly.

"Don't get too excited. You can't hurt me but you might break the house. And then Emily will really be upset with us," Tony said.

Ray put his hands in the air and then threw Tony up against the back wall of the house. He fell to the ground with a thud.

"What the hell?" Trey said coming running across the yard. He helped Tony up. "Ray, what the hell's the matter with you? What's going on here?" he demanded angrily.

"Why don't you tell us?" Jake said tossing him the sketch book.

Trey glanced down, "Nice drawing," he said barely glancing at it and tossed it back at him.

"What's going on?" Raven and Emily asked coming out of the house.

"That's what Trey was about to tell us," Jake said.

"Tell you what?!" Trey said angrily. "I come home and Ray's tossing my father up against the side of the house! I think you owe me an explanation!" he yelled. He glanced at his father who was just looking at him curiously. "Tony?"

"Who is that?" Jake asked pointing to the guy being slammed into the wall in the drawing. Trey looked at it, looked away quickly, and shrugged.

"And more importantly what the hell are you doing to him?" Raven asked grabbing the sketch pad.

"He can do what I do," Ray said looking at Trey knowingly.

Trey looked at him with a glare.

"How, Demetrio?" Tony asked Trey.

"I don't know what they're talking about," Trey told him.

"Trey," Emily prodded.

"I don't have to answer anything," Trey told her, "to any of you," he said looking around the group and then walked away.

"Trey!" Tony called after him.

"Let him go," Emily said taking the sketch pad from Raven.

"What's going on, Em?" Raven asked.

"He'll talk when he's ready."

"Oh, enough with the secrets already!" Raven yelled, "Our lives are in danger! Tony's life is in danger! And obviously Trey is in danger! Look at this!" Raven said shaking the pad in her hand.

"It's not up to me."

"Screw that, Emily. You owe us an explanation!" Raven said angrily.

"It's not up..." Emily raised her voice.

Raven squealed in frustration. "For the love of God!"

"Stop it all of you!" Tony said taking the sketch pad looking at it again. "Fighting's not going to solve anything," he frowned. "Wait. I...know...this guy. Somehow," He said studying the figure against the wall in the drawing. He walked toward Jake, "Hey, do you think you could do a close up on his face?"

"I...don't know...maybe," Jake said stepping next to him to look at the drawing. "I could try. His face wasn't too clear in my vision. But maybe if I worked on it."

"Is that okay with the powers that be? If we figure this out on our own?" Tony asked Emily.

"I don't know anything! They haven't shown me any of this, I swear!"

"Then get to it," Tony said handing Jake the sketch pad.
