Chapter One
Alec's POV
It's been two years. I haven't seen my boyfriend in two years. I doubt he even knows me anymore. I mean he wouldn't Magnus erased his memory of ever being a Shadowhunter. He still is though. Magnus said that his runes will only come back if he remembers which is unlikely. He hasn't even remembered his sister Clary. I mean again she really hasn't reached out to him, but he should still remember. This isn't right, and now I have to make sure he remembers. That's why as of tonight I am leaving to go to Beacon Hills. I have to find him. And he has to remember me. The only reason he left was to protect the institute and Clary. If he didn't remember then Valentine couldn't use him. Yeah he was supposed to join him and rule the shadow world. It would've happened if Stiles hadn't erased his memory and left. We have defeated Valentine now so this means he can come back. No one knows that I am going to get him and I plan to keep it that way.
I have literally been packing my stuff for the past three hours. I made sure to pack Stiles weapons and a change of clothes. He doesn't really have his seraph blade or his Stele, or his bow,
as he is currently a Mundane. I was packing the last of my stuff when suddenly someone walked into the room.
"What are you doing," I turned to see Clary in my doorway. She looked really curious and concerned,"are you leaving the institute?" I nodded and grabbed my bag ready to leave. She stopped me by putting her arm in the doorway.
"Where are you going Alec?" I don't think I was getting past her so yes I had to tell her.
"I'm going to get Stiles back. We defeated Valentine right?" I tried to push through but it wasn't working. To be honest I wasn't really trying anyway, so that might have made it a little easier for her to block me.
"We don't know that yet, and until Valentine is defeated for sure he can't come back. You know this Alec." She sounded so...so broken. You could tell that she wanted him back just as much as I did. If not more.
You see Stiles was a Shadowhunter way before her. He had been with us since we were kids. He's part of the original group. Me, Jace, Izzy, and Stiles. We were the it group. The popular clique as some would refer to it as. Everyone wanted to be us. It was awesome. When Stiles left two years ago the group had just gotten bigger. It wasn't only Shadowhunters now. It was Me, Jace, Izzy, Stiles, Clary, Simon, Luke, and Maia. Then he left and it just felt like. Something was missing. Like a void that can't be filled unless it's that one person.
"Clary I'm going. If you want to come with then pack a bag and meet me by the elevators in twenty minutes. I'll be waiting, but I'm leaving with or without you." I then pushed by her and walked away.
Clary's POV
Of course I wanted to go with him, but was I willing to risk Stiles life? Valentine wants him dead. I can't let him kill my brother, but then again he might be safer if he's with us and remembers how to take care of himself. That's it I'm going with him.
I ran to my room and threw some clothes in a bag. Along with my Stele and my seraph blade. Then I ran out and caught Alec right before he entered the elevator.
"Didn't think you were going to make it Fray." I smiled and went to the back of the elevator. It was about to close when suddenly the door was blocked. When it opened it revealed Jace and Izzy. Funny thing is that they were also packed to leave. Neither of us had told them anything.
"Did you really think you were going to go get Stiles without us?" Izzy asked with her hands on her hips.
"Yes. Actually we thought we could leave without anyone noticing." Alec defended. Izzy and Jace stepped into the elevator. They each had a bag at their sides and we're staring at the wall in silence as we went down.
"Guys why are you so mad?" I asked them. Izzy turned to me with a smile, but Alec on the other hand she gave a scowl.
"We aren't mad at you Clary. We are mad at Alec for not telling us about this. Why wouldn't you tell is anyway? We are a team. And Stiles was a part of that team." Woah a team. What did I miss?
"What team?" I asked them. Yes I knew about the current team here and Stiles was a part of that, but was there a team before I got here?
"The it team. No offense Clary,"Jace started,"Me, Alec, Izzy, and Stiles. We were the golden team. We handled all the missions and everyone wanted to be us. Then you got here and our team got bigger. When Stiles left I know it had a big affect on you since you are siblings, but it was different for us. We had lost a part of our hearts it felt like. None of us could function remember. He had been with us since we were kids. It was hard to lose someone so close to us." I saw a tear roll down all of their cheeks as Jace explained.
"So then you guys are coming with us then?" Alec asked. To be honest even I thought that was a stupid question. The glare he was given I'm guessing gave him his answer.
"So where exactly is Stiles currently residing anyway?" Izzy asked. She should know but I guess she forgot.
"Beacon Hills California." Alec spoke softly. It was almost a whisper but they heard it.
"Seriously!!!! Stiles chose to go to the one place that had more supernatural than here!!" Izzy yelled.
Alec's POV
"I don't think he had much of a choice Izzy. He was just thrown into somewhere with a new life. But wait. He doesn't know how to fight it. He could be in more danger then I thought." Oh crap why didn't I think of that?
"And how much danger exactly did you think that he'd be getting into?" Jace asked me. To be honest I didn't know.
"It's Stiles. I feel like any version of him would be a complete magnet for danger. Who knows he could be in a werewolf pack." They all laughed quietly. Stiles being in a werewolf pack is just a ridiculous idea. Even a memory wiped version of him wouldn't be stupid enough to do that.
"So how are we going to get there? We don't exactly have a car." Jace asked. Okay that was a valid point. I hadn't thought of that.
"Simon's driving us. Him and Stiles got really close so he wants to come. I already talked to him." I looked at Clary surprised. When had she had the time to talk to him?
"And you talked to him when?" I asked her a confused look on my face.
"When I was walking to meet you. It was fast. He agreed really easily actually. He really likes Stiles." That made me a little jealous. But I know she meant as a friend.
Simon was waiting for us when we stepped out of the elevator. He was trying to look cool against his van but was failing. Extremely failing. He looked as if one blow of air against his skin would send him rolling down the street.
"So how long will it take us to get to Beacon Hills California?" Jace asked him as he rolled his eyes. No one but Izzy was really okay with the vamp. But we had to find Stiles and if that meant having Simon drive us then so be it. Simon would drive us.
"Since we're driving across the whole country about three days. Two if we go without stopping."
"Then we'll go without stopping okay everyone in the van. Let's go." I said as I began to usher everyone into the car. Luckily the van was just big enough to fit the five of us, if we crammed in. As soon as we were all in we took off.
-----
About an hour later Clary and Izzy were asleep. Jace was looking out the window. And I was looking at pictures of Stiles that I had on my phone. Flipping through them made me happy honestly. Suddenly I stopped on a video. It looked like it was from the fair so I played it.
Video
"Hey Alec check out what I won for you." He then proceeded to shove a giant stuffed dog towards the screen. Me being me shoved it away. He immediately started to comfort the dog as if it had feelings.
"Oh don't worry. Alec's just a grumpy pants. Yes he is." I laughed and turned the camera so it faced both of us.
"Hey Stiles come here." He trotted over with the dog and looked at the camera.
"What?" He looked so cute. That's when I leave over and pecked him on the cheek. His face turned a bright shade of red which he tried to cover with the dog.
"Come on Stiles. Let the camera see how amazing you are." He then did the best thing ever. He grabbed me by the shirt and pressed his lips to mine. He covered the camera with his hand and that's where the video ended.
I sighed. I guess I missed him more than I thought I did.
"Relax Alec. We'll find him." Jace tried to comfort as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
"But what if he never remembers me. Or us. What if he never comes back. I can't lose those memories." The hand never moved off of my shoulder.
"Memories are never gone. They're always there. Doesn't matter if you don't exactly remember they're still there. Just buried within yourself. You just have to get through that wall and he'll be fine." I smiled at him as he pulled his hand back. Jace never goes all sappy like that. I just had to keep this going. For historical evidence.
"How do you know he will remember?" I asked as tears start to brim in my eyes.
"Because he's Stiles. He would never fully forget you. But if he found out that you were sitting around moping about him he would beat the crap out of you and you know it." Okay that made me laugh this time. But only because it's completely true. Stiles was always a little rough around the edges. I nodded at him and leaned my head against the car door. Then I let sleep take over from there.
