A/n: this will be a fairly short chapter since I'm doing a different PoV, so I will try to post twice today as a different KotLC character as well. I also realized that I accidentally made boy's transmitting and someone thinking the same symbol, so from now on, thinking has (parentheses) around them. I know it's sudden, but I totally forgot and now have to deal with it, so... Yeah! Enjoy!

PoV: Piper

I looked at the group before me. All I had done was shake a boy's hand, and suddenly he, along with the blonde girl behind him looked really scared. It also kind of looked like they were slowly backing away.

(What did I do?) I thought, (Do they know? No... There's no way...)

The other 5 in the group didn't seem to notice their discomfort. Instead, they smiled and waved as Leo said their names. As we took seats in the back of the classroom, -they seemed to have attention as much as I did - the teacher walked in, telling her name the the seven new kids in the back. As she said her name was Mrs Gavin, I saw the one Leo introduced as Sophie, flinch for only a second. 

For some reason, Keefe and Sophie - the two who seemed scared of me earlier - sat as far away from me as possible. I didn't know what I did to scare them until it hit me. (My charmspeak! They're scared of my charmspeak! But, how would they know about that?)

I wasn't able to contemplate is any more when the teacher said to get into groups to work on an assignment. We had to be in groups of four or five. I quickly grabbed Leo's hand and pulled him over to Sophie and Keefe.

 "Hey! Can we join you?" I asked.

 They stiffened, "Uh, sure!" Sophie said with what looked like a forced smile. She looked back at her other friends for a few seconds before turning to the papers before her. Mumbling something under her breath , she picked up her pencil and began to write.

I stared as she started answering questions easily. "Sophie, uh, I think we're supposed to be doing this in a group?" 

 Sophie looked up at me, " I know, but I've also memorized all the answers, so I thought I might as well get it done! "

"Wait, you memorized the answers to math equations?" Leo asked with a laugh, " No way! You've probably just had this assignment before. "

Sophie dropped her pencil on the table, "Alright! Piper, can you write the same math problem in two pieces of paper? Make sure it's difficult!"

 I nodded and wrote out one of the equations our teacher couldn't solve. I gave Sophie the papers and she flipped them over with the writing down and out one in front of Leo.

 "Okay, on three we flip the papers over and solve the equation. Ready?" Sophie asked.

" Probably not, but I'll do it anyway! " Leo exclaimed with a cheerful smile.

"Okay!" I started, " One, two, three! "

I watched as they flipped them over. Seconds later, Sophie dropped her pencil on the table to signify she was done. Leo's jaw dropped and Keefe couldn't stop laughing.

"Well, fair is fair," he said with a defeated smile as he held out his hand, "Good game." 

I watched as Sophie carefully shook his hand, and I saw his eyes widen ever so slightly as she pulled away. Www hurried back out seats and he rested his head in his hand. He looked back at Sophie for a moment before looking at me.

"Who is Sophie?" He whispered, continuing before I could reply, "I know who she is, but she isn't human."

"What makes you think that?" I asked, nervously.

Leo looked at his hand, " The fact that when I shook her hand I almost started burning. "

Chapter 5! I will try to get out Chapter 6 later today, which will probably be either Keefe or Biana's PoV (I'm leaning towards Keefe). Anyway, hope you have a great day! See you next chapter!
