PoV: Dex

Sophie was yelling as soon as we shimered into Havenfield. Keefe and Biana had gone to Everglen, since nobody really cared for Lord Cassius or was worried about him, and I wanted to make sure my aunt and uncle were okay. I was also more concerned about Grady and Edaline than I was about my own family since they should've all been busy at the time, so any trip back to my house would be useless at the moment.

"Grady! " Sophie called, "Edaline? Are you here?"

There was no reply. I felt Sophie grab my hand for support and the two of us walked into the house. As Sophie pushed open the door, I watched daylight stream into the dark room. Slowly, we walked hand and hand inside. I subconsciously grabbed the home crystal hanging around my neck.

"This doesn't seem good," I said quietly as we made our way though the dark house.

"No, it doesn't." Sophie agreed before yelling again, "Mom? Dad? Is anyone here?"

While Sophie kept calling, I looked around the room. Everything looked neat and clean, unlike my own house. Why would the Neverseen clean up after invading their house? I thought, There isn't any reason to.

A loud crash came from the stairs. Without hesitating, Sophie ran towards the sound. "Sophie! Wait!" I called as she slipped away from my grasp.

We both came to a stop at the bottom of the stairs. A shadowed figure stood at the top, but they were too far away to be able to tell who it was. Slowly, Sophie and I backed away from them. "Do you know who that is?" Sophie whispered.

I shook my head, "I can't tell."

Once we were a fair distance away from the stairs, Sophie and I ran. Neither of us were worried about who that person was, we just didn't want to be hurt or possibly killed. We dashed through the halls, and when I turned around, I saw the dark figure following us. Panicking, I grabbed Sophie's hand and led her outside, instead of wherever she had been going.

As we ran through the door, I held in a sign of relief, knowing that, even in the daylight, we were still possibly in danger. Sophie and I both turned around and watched as the shockingly tall and quick figure stepped out of the house and into the light. I heard Sophie gasp as his familiar grey skin and flat nose. I felt myself grin as his squeaky, bunny like voice floated towards us, "Well if it isn't Miss Foster and Mr Dizznee."

" Sandor! " Sophie called as she ran over and wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

Sandor gave her a small smile, "Now, would you care to tell me where you went that kept you unprotected for over a month?"

"I wasn't 'unprotected ', Sandor. "

"Any place you go without me is not safe."

Sophie shrugged, " Does this mean my parents are here? "

Sandor nodded, "The Ruewens, Vackers, and Dizznees are currently hiding together upstairs. "

"Wait, my parents are there too?" I asked, feeling joy grow inside me.

" And your siblings. A small group of Neverseen members went to Everglen looking for something. Della had been there, and she heard them say they were going to search Havenfield and Rimeshire next, so she called everyone and they all hid at Everglen until the search here was over, and then came here in case they decided to look through Everglen a second time. "

"Where are the other bodyguards?" Sophie asked.

"The other four of your bodyguards are here, Miss Foster," Sandor assured her, " Along with your parents'. However, the other bodyguards are all hiding at their charges' homes, ready in case the Neverseen do something out of line. "

"Because breaking into houses doesn't step over the line." I muttered.

"We're just trying to be careful, Mr Dizznee. " Sandor waved us inside, "Come on. I'm sure your families will want to see you."

Sophie and I followed Sandor the way we came. "Uh, Sandor?" I asked, " If you wanted to protect us, why did you chase us outside? "

"Well, at first, I didn't know if you were Neverseen members with potions that made you look like Sophie and Mr Dizznee. However, once you started backing away, I could tell you were genuinely afraid of me. I wasn't chasing you, I was trying to talk to you. "

"You could've done it with less running."

" Would walking make me seem less frightening? "

I shrugged, "Maybe."

Sandor led us up the stairs. He knocked 5 times on the door before saying something I didn't understand. A few seconds later, I heard the lock click and the door swung open. Gently, Sandor pushed it further open and motioned for us to come inside.

The second I saw my mother, I ran over to her and wrapped her in a hug, with the sound of fast footsteps proving Sophie was doing the same. My mother gave a quiet laugh before hugging me back. When she finally let go, she was replaced by my father, and each of my siblings soon after, which surprised me, but I was happy they were okay. "Are you guys okay?" I asked as I let go of Bex.

" We're fine, " my mom assured me, " We were more worried about you. "

"I'm okay. It could be better, but I'll manage."

"Did something happen? " my father asked, his worry evident in his tone.

I shuddered as I thought back to my last memory before I woke up outside with Nico, "I'd rather not talk about it."

My mother nodded before hugging me again, "Whatever happened, " she whispered, "And whatever you plan on doing, just try to stay safe."

"I will."

When I pulled away I saw tears shimmering in her eyes. I smiled before my gaze shifted to Alden and Della, who we're sitting near us.

"Dex," Alden said softly, " Do you know where Fitz or Biana is? "

I nodded, "Biana is currently looking for you at Everglen, and I have a good guess for where Fitz is. "

Alden gave a small smile, "I'm glad Biana is safe. Is Fitz alright? "

I sighed, "Honestly, I have no idea."

" Where have you been? " My mother asked, drawing my attention away from the sad couple before me.

I sighed again, "Well, this is going to be a long, hole filled story."

"I want to know anyway."

I hesitated for a moment, "... Okay."

I kept my word. Two chapters in one day! Does this mean I won't update tomorrow? Nope! I'm still planning on it! I'm really excited for this story! Sooooo, I will see you tomorrow!!
