Timeskip-a couple minutes later

Rogue, Yukino, and Lexi finally got back with the supplies.  I quickly hooked up the magic power transfusion tube (A/N: this is something I made up, if you're wondering.  It's kinda like how they hook up hospital patients with morphine, except this one feeds pure magical power to the patient) to Sting's arm so that he could get some magic power back quicker.  I then placed the warm damp towel on Sting's forehead.

"Do you know what happened to him?" Rogue asked, worried for his best friend.  I shook my head.

"Not yet," I replied as I put on a bandage on Sting's neck.  Before I did though, I examined the small puncture.  It was odd, as if a dart or something poked him.  After a couple seconds of uncomfortable silence between the four of us, Rogue spoke up.

"Could you leave us alone for a minute?" Rogue asked calmly.  I looked up at Rogue, confused as to why he would want to speak to me alone.  Yukino and Lexi looked at each other weirdly too, but left the room.  Lector was asleep on Sting's abdomen, so he probably won't hear...whatever he wanted to say to me.

"Yes...?" I said in a questionable tone.

"Do you notice...anything weird with Sting?" he asked.

"Other than the fact that he tried to kill me?" I ask, a hint of angry sarcasm in my tone.

"Well, that of course, but I mean...like his eyes?"  I looked back to the moment when Sting was on top of me with the dagger pointed at my chest.

"Yeah.." I answered slowly, "at first, they were dull and dragon slits, but after a couple seconds, it just became purely dull," I decided to leave out the weird presence I felt and the voice.

"Just like that time.." I heard Rogue mutter under his breath.  What time...?

"What?" I frowned, wanting him to say it a bit louder for clarification.

"Iya, nothing, just.." he paused for a moment.  "..Do you remember...why you got kicked out of Sabertooth?" I opened my mouth to say something like I've said it a million times but...my mind went blank.  Why was I kicked out of Sabertooth?  I don't even remember leaving Sabertooth, just that I....left it. Weird..

"N-no..." I stuttered, amazed.  How could I forget something like that?  There are so many gaps in my head...could this be a spell?  No, that's crazy...right?

Soon, I realized Rogue was looking at me with regret in his eyes.  Regret?  "Why..? Did Sting behave like this when...I was kicked out?" I asked, slightly choking at the last words I said.  Rogue blinked a couple times, like he was spacing out or something.

"I-I don't remember," he stammered, making me a bit suspicious.  "Anyways, I have to go."  And with that, he quickly left.  Hmm, he's acting weird..  I thought to myself.  I went back to patching up Sting, but there was still something bothering me.  Why do I have so many memory gaps...?  Could it really be from a spell?

"Maybe, maybe not."  I turned around to see...Caesar?!

"Y-you're real?!" I said in disbelief, but shut my mouth when I remembered that Sting and Lector were still sleeping.  "You're not an illusion or just a dream??" I loudly whispered this time.

"Hey, I'm slightly hurt that you didn't think I was real," he frowned, a hurt expression on his face, or was it fake...? I couldn't tell; I was too confused to tell.

"Wait, does that mean this is a dream too?  That none of this happened??" I asked, a hint of hope in my words.

"Mm, no, sorry," Caesar replied, "this is real."  I sighed.  I must really be crazy now.

"Okay, how do I know you're real?  Just because no one else can see doesn't mean you're real," I asked.  He shook his head.

"Seriously?  You don't believe me yet?" he pouted.  I shook my head this time.  He sighed.

"Okay, how about my warning?" Caesar replied.  "No one who's not real could predict that."  I thought about what he said in my drea-er-last night.  "Okay, I can't give away too much, but tomorrow, just know that that will not be Sting doing it,"   he had said.  I have to admit, no one could've known that Sting was going to try and kill me.

"Okay, fine," I muttered, having no choice but to give in.  "I believe you."

"FINALLY!" Caesar said with an exaggerated sigh, but he looked relieved.

"Does that mean that Sting was under a spell?" I asked, changing the subject into something more important.  Caesar stopped celebrating and nodded.

"C'mere," he said, gesturing for me to follow.  He walked through the door of the infirmary, and I almost, almost, followed him, but I realized that I can't go through walls like a ghost and instead opened the door to follow him.  Rogue, Yukino, and Lexi weren't in the lobby, so I followed Caesar all the way to the Master's room.  There, he pointed at something.  When I got closer, I realized the thing he was pointing at was a feathery black arrow on a table filled with paperwork.  I don't know why, but I feel a dark energy radiating from it.

"W-what is that?" I asked, frowning.

"I still can't give away too much, but all I can say is that that is what made Sting go crazy," Caesar explained.

        "H-how did it get here?"

        "Still can't say."

"You can't say a lot huh?" A tick mark started to form on the side of my head.

"Hey, it's kinda like an unwritten rule of being dead: don't give too much away," he held up his hands in defense.  "Anyways, just pick the arrow up."

        "Why?" I asked curiously.

"Just trust me okay?" he sighed.  I rolled my eyes, but hesitantly reached for the arrow.  When the palm of my hand came into contact with the arrow, a blast of light suddenly dispersed as a reaction.

"Wha--!?" I said in surprise, shielding my eyes from the blinding light.  When it faded away, my eyes grew wide to see that the arrow turned a pure white.  Instead of the dark energy I once felt, it now radiated, white energy was the only thing to call it.  "How the...?" I murmured in amazement.  "I-I didn't..."  I turned to face Caesar, who was smiling.  "How did I do this?" I asked him. "Is it magic..? Am I regaining my powers???"

"Well, it's not really magic.." Caesar said slowly.  "It's hard to explain, so I'll do that later.  Right now, you need to turn that into a liquid."

        "A liquid?" I said, a bit confused.

"You're a Water Dragon Slayer right?" he asked.  I nodded.  "Then you should have no problem turning a small object into a liquid.

"But, why?" I frowned. I didn't understand any of this.

"To inject Sting with it," Caesar replied in a "duh" tone.  I have so many questions right now, but I decided that Sting was more important than my questions, so I obeyed and readied the syringe.

"Melt!" I commanded the arrow, and in response, the arrow started melting into a white substance.  I made it flow into the needle and went back to the infirmary.  I quickly stopped when I saw Rogue, Yukino, and Lexi whispering to each other.

"What are you waiting for?" Caesar hissed, appearing beside me in an instant.

"Shh!" I hushed him and went back to hearing what they were talking about.

"She's getting suspicious," I heard Rogue say.  "She doesn't even remember being kicked out of the guild."

"It's to be expected," Lexi sighed.  "Sting played a big part in that after all."

"I still wonder why we can't tell her though," Yukino frowned, a hint of sadness and guilt in her voice.

"You know we can't because we don't want to freak her out," Lexi said.  Wait, freak me out with what?  What are they not telling me??

"I guess you're right.." Yukino sighed.  I looked at my friends in disbelief.  What are they hiding from me?  And why would it freak me out?  Ugh, I hate not knowing!!

"I suggest going before they see you staring at them," Caesar urged, trying to push me, but of course, his hands went through my body.

"How could they not tell me.." I whispered. Am I not trustworthy? Did I do something bad that I just can't remember??

"They have a good reason," Caesar said, but clasped his mouth with his hands.  I looked at him accusingly.

"You know what they're talking about?" I snarled, anger building up inside.

"Did I say that...?" he laughed nervously, avoiding my gaze.

"Tch, I don't even know who to trust anymore, but then again, I'm talking to a dead person," I scowled and walked towards the infirmary with the syringe in hand.

"Wait, I didn't mean it like that," Caesar tried to apologized and catch up to me.  I decided to ignore him and headed towards the infirmary.  Despite my anger, I gently opened the door, so that I would neither disturb Sting nor Lector, or get those three's attention.  "Come on," Caesar persisted as we entered.  "I actually have a reason as to why I can't tell you."

"Like what?" I growl.  "Another unwritten rule of the dead?"

"Cut me some slack here, I am dead.."

"All that means is that you can find out people's secrets and stalk them without them knowing," I grumbled. I gently lifted up Lector, placed him on another bed, then took out the transfusion tube. I carefully pierced the skin of Sting's right arm with the needle and injected the white liquid into him.  Almost immediately, Sting's pained face softened into a relaxed expression. I quietly sighed with relief. He's going to be fine.

Once all the liquid was inserted, I put the needle on the nightstand and removed the warm towel from his forehead, since his fever was going to go away soon. I then took a deep breath; I really needed one for a day like this. Once my head was clear of panic and alarm, I ran a hand through my black hair and sighed. I searched my surroundings for Caesar to apologize for that outburst earlier.  It's probably harder than I would ever know to watch people go on with their lives without noticing him.  I wonder if he was any family, and if he did, has he been watching over them?

I couldn't apologize, however, because I couldn't find him anywhere. Where did he go? "Caesar?" I called out his name, looking around for him. It was then that I noticed Sting slightly stirring. I turned around to see his eyes slowly opening. He blearily blinked and stared right at me.

        "J-Jessie...?" he murmured in confusion.
