Chapter 19

~Jessie's P.O.V.~

"Yo!" I greeted when I opened the doors to Sabertooth.  The only people there that I saw at first glance was Yukino, Rogue, and Lector.

"Jessie-chan!  Lexi-chan!" Lector smiled and squeezed Lexi.

"Stop it, there are people watching," Lexi murmured.  I swear, even though her fur is magenta colored, I could see her blushing.

"Where's Sting?" I  asked Rogue.  He pointed to Father's room.

"In there," he frowned.  I looked at him confusingly.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.  He blinked a couple times before answering.

"Iya, nothing, just thinking about something.." he muttered.  He then walked to Yukino.  "Gonna borrow her for a minute, I'm pretty sure the door's unlocked," he said before dragging a bushing Yukino away.  I smiled.  Such a cute couple.  I look back at the Father's-er-the Master room.  Yeah, Father's gone, so it shouldn't be called Father's room anymore..  He always was so....um....huh?  I can't really think of a word.  In fact, most of my memories of my time in Sabertooth is blurry.  A-re?  Eh, I guess it's nothing.  I shake my head to get rid of those thoughts and gently knock on the door.

"Sting?  You there?" I asked politely.

"In here," he said.  I thought his voice kinda sounded dark, but maybe that's just me.  I open the door and Sting was looking at me with a normal smile, but it looked kinda....weird.  His eyes didn't reflect light like they usuall did and they were dragon slits.  I could also tell he was holding something behind his back.

"Hey," I greeted.  "Whatcha...got behind you?"

"Get closer," he whispered, "and I'll show you."  His voice sounded kind of creepy, but I slowly walked towards him.  "Closer," he whispered.  I inched closer until he and I were just inches away from each other.  The scent of vanilla wafted into my nose, and Sting's face was just inches away from mine, alllowing me to feel his breath, making me blush.

"Now what?" I whispered.  He went to my ear, looking like he was about to nibble it.  I face flushed when I thought he was going to do it, but then I saw what he was holding behind his back.  It was a short metallic dagger.

"This," he whispered before revealing the whole knife and trying to stab my chest.  Because I had seen it, I was able to grab his arm before the dagger touched me.

"Sting!  What are you doing??" I managed to ask before he pulled out of my grasp and tried again.

"Killing you," he smirked, lunging again.  Fortunately, I got out of the way in time, but because this is a small room, I bumped into one of the tables and scraped my arm.  The quick shock let Sting pin me down on the floor.  He was right above me with the knife pointed to my chest.  Instead of his kind smile, he had on a wicked smirk.  "Sting..." I whispered.  I didn't how I felt right now.  I was a mix of shocked, sad, scared, but most of all, I felt betrayed.  He couldn't have just been acting all this time.  No, I refuse to believe that such a kind person would just be an assassin in disguise.  For a split second, I glanced at the nightstand next to the bed.  I remember that Father kept sleeping medicine for himself when he couldn't sleep sometimes.  He also kept a syringe needle for when I used to be the medic for Sabertooth.  I'm not sure if Sting changed anything, and of course, there was no way I could reach it, not with Sting pinning me down, but if I could just get to them...  "I'll just make this quick for you, kay?" Sting said with his wicked smirk.  I looked at his dull dark blue eyes one more time.  Is this the real Sting?  I don't think I'm going to find out..  I closed my eyes and awaited my death, but not before one thing entered my mind.  Sting....I know this isn't you.....
