Your POV

I woke up the next day to the sound of chatter. I opened my eyes to see everyone awake and doing something. It looked like they were preparing for something. I got up and went to talk to Vylad who was up here as well.

"Vylad, what is everyone doing?" I ask.

Vylad turns around to look at me. "Oh! Morning Y/n! We're preparing for a trip to an island. We're sailing off today," He replies.

My eyes widen. "You guys are leaving. Today. Why didn't you tell me this yesterday?" I ask.

Like always, yesterday afternoon we went to watch the sunset together. We were just quiet the whole time... He had many chances to tell me about this!

"Sorry, Y/n. I was distracted..." Vylad trails off.

I cock my head to the side. "By what?"

Vylad murmurs, "That."

"Huh?"

Vylad shrugs. "Nothing in particular. Also, I didn't really think you'd be interested. I mean, you aren't really the adventurer type," He says.

"That was the old me. You haven't seen me in fifteen years. I've changed! Going on this trip with you sounds cool! Count me in!" I smile.

Vylad stares at me. "Well, okay. You'll have to ask Aphmau, though. I bet she'll let you come!"

I continue smiling at him. "Great! I'm excited."

Aphmau, Laurance, Aaron, and Travis came back yesterday with a witch lady named Lucinda. I was always warned by my parents that witches were bad, but Lucinda was actually very nice. Then, Lucinda's mother, Hyria, came by and Lucinda hit her mom over the head. I'm not exactly sure what happened after that, but I didn't think it was good. Hyria eventually left.

I walk around Phoenix Drop, asking around to find out where Aphmau was. I found Owl in the process. She said she found out about the trip from Laurance, but she wasn't coming. I figured she wouldn't. Owl kind of hates the outdoors.

I finally found Aphmau talking to Laurance and Lord Levin.

"Honestly, I'm glad you found a bigger ship..." Lord Levin says, "Thinking about things now... You're taking eleven people with you!"

"MAYBE TWELVE?!" I yell. I go up to them, panting. "Sorry to interrupt this conversation, Lord Levin, but Aphmau, I would like to come with you on this trip! This seems like a great opportunity for me to get to know you and everyone else and I'm not a burden at all. I'll try not to get in the way of things, and I really want to go with you since VyladiscomingandIwanttobewithhim and stuff... yeah!"

Aphmau laughs. "Of course you can come! You won't be a burden at all. We have a big ship, and I think we can handle one more passenger! Is your sister coming?" She asks.

I shake my head. "Nope!"

"Alright, then! So, we have Y/n, Laurance, Katelyn, Aaron, Vylad, Travis, Isabell, Lucinda, Sasha, Michi, oh! And my two dogs Thorgina and Celeste," Aphmau says. I'm shocked on how she remembered all that.

"Uh... We might need another night to get more supplies ready for you," Levin says, "We want you guys to get a good start after all! I'll go see what Logan and Yip can find!" He then runs off.

"Uh, Levin! Wait! I-!" Aphmau stampers. She sighs, "There he goes. Hehe... My son."

"Hey Y/n!" I turn around to see Vylad. I smile.

"Gotta go, guys! See you later!" I exclaim, leaving them.

I walk towards my best friend. "Hey!"

"Did she let you come?" Vylad asks.

I smile, nodding. "Yep! I'm super excited to travel with you. So, we're going to an island right? Do you know where the island is?" I ask.

"Nope! But I think Travis, Lucinda, and Aphmau know. They seem like they do," Vylad replies.

"So what you're saying is that they might not know where we're going and we could just be sailing off to a random island in the middle of the ocean?" I worriedly ask.

Vylad slowly nods. "Yep!" He frowns seeing my worried expression. He throws his arm around me. "It's going to be fine! It's going to be a cool adventure and we'll all end up okay, alright? Besides, you're going to be traveling with the charming rogue! You'll be fine."

I laugh remembering all the times he would call himself that. Ever since he learned what a 'Charming Rogue' was, he would always pretend he was one especially when we were playing...

~Flashback~

"Okay, guys! Let's play 'Save The Princess!'" A young Garroth exclaims while standing on his bed. We were in his room.

"Yay!" I cheer. "Should I be the princess, or should Zane?" I ask, giggling.

"Hey!" Zane growls, "Y/n, you do it! I'll be the one to capture you!"

Garroth smiles. "I'll be the knight who saves the princess!"

"And I'll be the charming rogue!" Vylad exclaims.

"Of course you are, Vylad. Now, let's begin!"

Zane takes my arm and puts me on top of Garroth's desk which is what we were using for a tower.

"I have taken Princess Y/n once again!" Zane says trying to sound menacing, but failing because of his squeaky voice.

I giggle. "Save me Charming Rogue!" I yell.

A certain blonde-haired boy frowns. "Y/n! I'm supposed to save you!" Garroth says.

"Okay... Knight! Charming Rogue! Save meeEeeEEE!" I yell again.

"We will, Princess! Don't worry!" My brown-haired crush-- I mean Vylad assures me.

We continue playing the game. It was really fun! Who am I kidding? Every day with Vylad was fun! And it still is today...

~Flashback End~

I smile at the wonderful memory that popped up. I looked up to see Vylad with a frown on his face, soon taking his arm off me.

"Are you okay, Vylad?" I ask.

Vylad nods in response. "Yeah... yeah," He says his eyes cast down.

"Are you sure?"

Vylad nods again. "Yes! I'm perfectly okay!" He looks up and smiles at me. I can tell it's fake, but I don't question it. "I just need to go." He then turns and walks away.

That was... random. Whatever. He's Vylad the Charming Rogue. He'll be okay.

I then walk away as well.

Tomorrow is the day that we leave... Let's think about that...

It'll be a great adventure...
