I looked at the ocean, hearing the wind whistling. "Taylor, where have you been?" I looked over to see my best friend Alexis Gilbertson, Lexie for short. "I have been here." I looked at her gaze. "What's wrong?" I searched for more words to say, but I couldn't find any. "I was just wondering what if I didn't have this life?" She looked at me."Taylor, that's insane." She told me sitting by my side. "I-" I was cut off by my stepmother, "ALEXIS! HAVE YOU FOUND TAYLOR YET?!" I looked at her and mouthed. "Tell her no." I jumped into the water and made my way underwater. LEXIE looked at me and then looked at her mother / my stepmother. "No mom." She said quietly. I watched as my stepmother slapped her. " Well then, FIND HER!" Elizabeth Gilbertson (Lexie's Mom)  walked inside. I need to tell someone, I thought as I got out of the water. I grabbed Lexie some ice and said. "This is why I want a better life." She looked at me. "Yes, I want one better than this." I walked to my bag. "Good thing this has some of our clothes in it." She smiled. "Let's go." And we ran away. I knew we still would be forgotten.
