Chapter 9: Caged
When Barry woke, he felt cold, hard ground underneath him. He opened his eyes, and he realized he was in the pipeline. Again.
When he finally stood up, he saw Cisco, Caitlin, Joe, Iris, and Len.
Barry stared at them defiantly.
"We don't want to hurt you, Barry," Len said.
Barry laughed bitterly. "Of course you do. You were made in my mind to. Your just part of a stupid drug.
"And even if you weren't, then you have already hurt me beyond anything else possibly could, Len. So don't even pretend."
Len looked at him, and Barry could see the real pain in his face.
He gulped, then walked (More like ran) to the Cortex.
Iris and Joe looked at him, and went to join Len. Caitlin and Cisco stayed.
"We won't knock you out if you let us test you," Caitlin said. Barry subconsciously back up.
He didn't know if he should agree.
Probably not, but he had a killer headache from whatever she had used...
"Fine," he said, but then wondered if he could use that opportunity to get away...
Then he remembered. It's just drug affects. It's not real. Zoom mush have used a super powerful drug...
Caitlin looked like she didn't believe him, but Barry didn't really care.
As they walked away, Barry let his thoughts wander...
...
"No! Zoom, PLEASE!!!!" Barry screamed. He felt the acid on his chest, and it was worse that the burns. Zoom smirked, then superspeeded to clean up the acid, and grab a bucket of water. He then proceeded to dunk Barry's head in it over and over again.
After doing that about 10 times, (Barry couldn't count that well with his head under the water) he decided to try waterboarding Barry. (Waterboarding: an interrogation technique simulating the experience of drowning, in which a person is strapped, face up, to a board that slopes downward at the head, while large quantities of water are poured over the face into the breathing passages.)
Suddenly, Barry felt hands shaking him, and opened his eyes. He looked up wildly, and saw Cisco and Caitlin above him. He immediately sat up and moved backward. "Get-get away from me," he said, praying they wouldn't do anything at the moment.
He wouldn't be able to handle it.
He saw the cell door open, but he didn't really care. It wasn't like he had some great life to return to, so why bother?
"Barry?" Cisco said, snapping Barry back to reality. He could've sworn he hd heard sadness in his voice, but he really didn't care.
"We just want to help, Barry," Caitlin added.
Barry knew he had heard that one before...
...
Barry's Memory:
He was strapped down, and instead of Zoom, it was Caitlin, and she was somehow worse.
Cisco was there, and he was helping Caitlin hold him down. "We just want to help, Barry," Caitlin said.
End of Barry's Memory
...
That was the most painful one, physically. Mentally? Top 10.
"Get. Away. From. Me. Assholes," Barry said, but all three of them could hear the pure hate in his voice.
"Why do you seem to hate us, Barry?" Cisco asked. Barry snorted. "Because you broke me. This damn drug turned all of my family against me. I mean, they had already, what with Cisco's "You killed my brother!" and Caitlin's "Imma kill you" Killer Frost thing, and Joe and Iris ignoring me for Wally, but still. Not to even mention Len," Barry said. Both 'Cisco' and 'Caitlin' had flinched.
"You did kill my brother, Barry," Cisco whispered. Barry laughed cruelly. "Sure I did, Cisco. But if we're taking about all of our faults, let's not forget that you made something so you could kill me, made it again, made two separate similar guns, told a criminal mastermind my secret identity, them messed up the timeline yourself. So, I'm sorry. Ok? But I don't, and won't, forgive you, either."
Caitlin's eyes flashed blue, but Barry didn't care anymore. What'd he have to live for? Maybe if he died here, he could die in real life...
"Not to mention you, Caitlin. I always said that you didn't do the things Killer Frost did, but that's a lie. Your there, and able to fight it, but you don't, and blame me." Caitlin's eyes flashed again, but Barry continued on. "You know, you also seemed to blame me for Dante's death. Why? I thought you understood, but I guess someone like you could never-" Barry was cut off by Killer Frost jumping on him.
"How dare you," she whispered in her creepy voice, but Barry just laughed. If this was insanity, he loved it. "Wanna give me a kiss?" he asked, and could see her considering it. "I won't," she decided. "Won't or can't?" Barry asked. "'Cause you've never actually killed anyone. I'm starting to doubt your ability."
Suddenly, he felt cold lips on his, but he didn't struggle. Instead, he just let the cold numbness spread, and rejoiced. He wouldn't have to see anyone ever again...
Suddenly, Len rushed over. "Caitlin!" he called, snapping Killer Frost out of it. She immediately stopped, and turned back to Caitlin, to Barry's disappointment. He wasn't dead yet. "Just one more?" he taunted, but Killer Frost had learned her lesson. Barry felt like crying.
He had been so close. He sighed. Maybe he could get her really mad again...
"I'm so sorry!" she said. "I'm not," he muttered. "Excuse me?" she asked. "Nothing," Barry said. Her eyes flashed again. Yes, yes! He had a chance!
"We should get outta here," Cisco whispered, and Caitlin nodded. Then they left, leaving Barry alone with Len.
"Why didn't you fight it?" he asked. Barry shrugged and turned away. "Why didn't you run out? You could easily run past me."
Barry continued to ignore him. "I will find out, Barry," Len warned as he walked away.
Barry found that he didn't really care.
