Chapter 8: Agony
Everyone (Minus Caitlin, who had gone a deathly pale) looked around, completely shocked. Cisco had never hurt Barry, right?
"Barry..." Caitlin muttered, shaking her head. She marched past Cisco to Barry, but stopped when he flinched back into the wall, looking terrified.
"Did Zoom use drugs on you?" Caitlin asked. Barry looked at her before slowly nodding. "What else could this be? A rescue?" He laughed bitterly. "Like that would ever happen. The real versions of you don't care Tham much."
Everyone looked at Barry in utter shock. Did he really believe that?
This time, it was Len who moved for ward. Barry immediately put his hands out in front of his knees, and it looked like he was guarding something.
"Not again," Barry begged, and Len realized something.
Barry was protecting something: His balls.
He thought Len was going to rape him.
Len immediately stumbled back, and fell.
Len couldn't even say he would never, considering he had.
The most painful thing was when Kate approached.
He didn't run up to hug her, or gesture for her to come over, or even smile.
If anything, he just looked more guarded.
When Kate walked even closer, he flinched again, but Kate didn't stop. She leaned down, and gave him a hug.
Barry looked so confused.
He didn't hug back.
Kate raced away, tears in her eyes, and Barry looked like he was about to explode.
"IS THIS SOME NEW TORTURE?" he shouted at the ceiling, "BECAUSE IT'S WORKING! HURTING THE PEOPLE CLOSET TO ME, THAT'S A NEW LEVEL!"
He pulled his head back into his knees.
And he dry heaved. He didn't't have any food (Or water) to puke. And he couldn't cry anymore.
...
Meanwhile, everyone was making a plan.
"Are you sure? 'Cause that didn't work so well the first time," Len snipped. Everybody ignored him.
Caitlin sighed. This was going to be difficult to do.
...
"Hey, Barry!" Iris said. Barry knew if he looked up he would get slapped, so he didn't bother.
...
Caitlin loaded the gun with darts.
...
"Barry! Look at me!" Iris said again. Barry once again ignored her.
...
Caitlin took aim.
...
"Why won't you look at me, Barry?"
...
She fired.
...
When Barry heard the gun, he immediately lifted his head in slow motion. (He was running)
He stood up, ran to grab the dart, and turned it so it would hit Caitlin instead of him.
As he waited for the dart to land, he sat down in the chair Cisco operated. At the last second, (More like minute) he grabbed the dart, (Remember: He has no idea if the dart kills or not) grabbed Caitlin, spun her around so she would stand right underneath his neck, and held the dart to her neck as he waited for the world to catch up with him.
"Caitlin!" Cisco yelled. "Don't. Move," he whispered in her ear. He saw Len stand up, but he looked at him and shook his head. "Nobody mover we'll find out what this dart really does," he said.
Iris and Joe looked shocked. If this were real, he would never do this, but it wasn't.
So he would.
"Barry... This is real. This isn't a hallucination. I promise you. We would have hurt you by now, right?"
Barry looked down at her. She did have a point.
And he would have believed her if he didn't hear another dart get shot. He grabbed it mid-air, and looked up at Harry in disbelief.
During that moment, however brief, Caitlin managed to maneuver the dart at Barry's neck instead of her own.
Then he remembered what he had said.
If anyone moved, he would shove the dart into Caitlin's throat.
So he did, and was extremely confused when he started to feel extremely tired. He looked down, and he felt the dart. He started to wobble, and ended up letting Caitlin go.
He tried to run, but found he wasn't able to. He looked around the room, and felt a single tear make it's way down his cheek.
"I knew it," he muttered before he passed out.
...
Note: Poor Barry.
