Chapter 1: Contentment
1 year later...
...
Barry looked around. He still couldn't believe that this was his life. Engaged to a thief, running from his family, and never looking back.
He chuckled.
Who said he never looked back?
All he had to do to stop feeling guilty was think of a few things:
How everyone reacted to Flashpoint. (Original timeline)
How everyone reacted when he told them about Len.
That's it.
He couldn't bring himself to feel guilty.
...
Flashback
Barry was smiling. He was so happy! He couldn't remember, the last time he felt this gleeful. (Yes. That is a word. And yes. That was a glee reference)
He had called up his friends and family for an important announcement. That he had a boyfriend!
He would tell them about the engagement later.
Or, at least, he was going to.
...
"Hey, everyone!" Barry said excitedly. "I have amazing news!" Everyone had smiled, obviously excited to see what was making Barry so happy.
"I have a boyfriend!" Barry continued in the same manner. If anyone had been drinking anything, they would've spit it out.
"You mean a girlfriend, right Bear?" Joe questioned, hoping for the best, expecting to get the worst.
"No... Why? Is there a problem with that?" Barry asked, all cheerfulness gone. Joe shared a glance with everyone surrounding him. They nodded.
"Barry..." Joe said. Barry looked at him and realized.
His family was homophobic. Barry felt tears enter his eyes. He had been counting on his family's support.
Sadly, they had none to give.
The next day, he was kicked out, and to this day, he hasn't seen them.
Good riddance.
End of Flashback.
...
Barry sighed. It was always painful to remember.
...
Len was scared. He felt like he was losing Barry. Recently, there had been some... Problems.
And Len didn't react well to 'problems'.
So, instead of voicing his concerns, he had cheated on Barry.
And he didn't really wanna tell Barry that.
So, he didn't and continued to cheat on Barry.
And he regretted it. But he didn't stop.
...
Len knew he had to tell Barry. He wouldn't build a marriage of a lie.
"Barry?" he asked. Barry turned to face him with a smile. "Yeah?"
"I need to tell you something," Len sighed. Barry's smile disappeared. "What?" he whispered, immediately recognizing the tension in the air.
Len breathed deeply before continuing. "I-I-I cheated on you, Bear," he whispered.
Barry gasped. He goggled at Len. "You what?" he said, and his voice, instead of being quiet, was becoming louder.
"I gave up everything for you! I gave up being a Legend, I almost gave my life. Hell, I even gave up my family. For you. For us. But then you do this to me, break my heart all over again. I will never forgive you."
Suddenly, Kate walked in. "What's wrong, Daddies?" she asked. Barry immediately rushed over to comfort the little girl. "Nothing, Sweet Pea," he said, then kissed her head. He started to leave the room but gave Len a glare as he walked out.
Len gulped.
He didn't know what to do.
...
Barry couldn't believe it.
He had thought Len loved him. Obviously, he was wrong.
Then he had a terrible thought.
What if Len was becoming his father?
He looked down at the little girl holding his hand. He thought about the stories he had heard from Len, about his father beating him, and he had another thought.
He should get Kate out of there.
...
Len could only think of one moment that had ever made him feel this way. (Not counting every second with his father, of course)
When his family abandoned him.
...
ColdBack
Len was excited. He was finally going to tell Mick and Lisa about Barry. He figured it would go well.
He was wrong.
...
Len strutted in with a smile on his face. "Hello," he drawled. "What?" Mick asked. "Well, I'm finally dating," he admitted with his smirk still firmly in place. "Who?" Lisa asked, immediately suspicious. "Barry Allen," he said. Lisa looked at him in shock. "You're dating The Flash!!??" she almost shouted.
Len nodded. "I hope you know I can't support that," Mick grunted from behind a sandwich. (When did he get that?) Len looked at him in surprise. "What? I still rob banks, and your dating a cop. What did you expect?"
Len looked at Lisa. She nodded. "I'm really sorry, Lenny, but Mick's right. I can't be a part of your life. That means if you have a tough breakup, we all go down. And I can't afford that."
She walked away and didn't turn back. Len felt a tear appear in his eye, but he wasn't going to cry for her.
Then Mick joined her, and Len couldn't hold it in anymore. (Said by Elsa)
End of Coldback
...
And now he didn't even have Barry.
How the hell did that happen?
...
Note: Hope you enjoyed. Sorry, it took so long to publish. And, just to let you know, I won't be putting in nearly as many pictures. I might put in some, but not nearly as much.
Enjoy!
