Chapter 9
Weeks past, and my birthday came, but it felt like forever.
"Happy birthday Savannah!" Michelle was at my house early with a present, she didn't even wait for me to get up, she woke me up.
"Michelle! Thank you!" I said, and took the present she handed me.
I lazily dragged myself out of bed.
Sure, I was anxious, but also tired. I was excited, but lazy.
"Happy birthday!" Luis said, which I was surprised how early he was up.
"Thanks guys, but don't I get to sleep? Come on! I'm the birthday girl! And the birthday girl needs her rest!" I joked.
"Happy birthday sis!!" Steven just wanted to call me sister, he still couldn't get over it that I was his sister.
"Thanks Steven!" I said, happily, with a smile on my face.
"Savannah, call me bro!" He grinned.
"Okay, bro." I smiled.
I went downstairs to mom and dad.
They stood there with my cake, "Happy birthday Savannah!" Mom, and dad, both said at the same time.
The whole family, including Michelle, sang happy birthday to me.
"Thanks guys, so much!" They put a smile on my face.
They wanted me to "make a wish" but my "wish" has already come true.
I've always wanted our family to come together, and we did.
"You guys are the best," I smiled, and so did they.
I've never seen my family so happy, and so-- brought together.
It's like we're a normal family again, with no secrets, no lies, we're Christians, we don't lie. I love my family.
Families are gifts from God, we just need to realize that and be thankful, I know I am.
"Okay. Now, let's eat some cake!" I said, and mom sliced the cake and we ate it.
"You know what the best thing about my birthday is?" They looked up at me, "Hmm?" Mother asked.
"It's being here with my family, and celebrating with my family. Jesus has put these wonderful people in my life. I have learned to forgive. God's Forgiveness, is the best forgiveness."
"Aw! Being it in!" Steven said, we did a big "family hug."
