I met up with my other best friend, Steven.
"Hey, have you noticed anything off about my parents lately?" I asked, suspiciously.
"They have been acting a little strange lately, but I'm sure they'll come around," replied Steven.
I changed the subject. "How is your mom?" I asked because she has cancer.
"Oh, my mom?..." he pauses, "Not so great, but I would appreciate Prayers."
I am a Christian...I think, but I'm not very serious about it.
"Your family is in my prayers," but does he believe that coming from me?
"Thanks Savannah! My whole family could use some prayer," Steven replied with a smile.
"Anytime, buddy," I said and playfully punched him in the arm.
"Ouch!" I must've punched him harder than I thought.
"Sorry," we were both silent.
"Well, I better get to church, will I see you there?" he just has to ask.
"Sure, if I can make it," I reply and we both walk away.

Was I going?
Would my parents let me?
I asked them, "Mom, dad, do you mind if I go to church?" I waited for an answer.
Mom and dad looked surprised. "If that's what you want to do," mother replied.
I left without saying a word, Luis drove me to church.
"Savannah, we never go to church, what made you want to?" Luis asked curious.
"I don't know, I just felt like it?" I replied.
When we arrived at the church, I saw Steven and ran up to him.
"Hey."
"Hey, glad you came!" Steven smiled.
We walked into the church and took our seats.
The preacher preached about how Christ forgave us, and how Jesus suffered a horrible beating for us.
I actually listened to the preacher.
After we left church, I had to ask Luis, "Have you noticed anything off about mom and dad?"
"Yeah, I wish they wouldn't keep things from us," he said annoyed.
We got home, "Did you enjoy church?"
"I'm not a Christian, Savannah!" he yelled angrily, "Get out of my car!"
I looked down, "Sorry..." I said, looking down.
