Plot
There was a fairy tale and like many, it had a princess and a prince but this tale was a little out of sequence. They did meet. They did fell. Yet the prince did turn into a wolf but after they met. The princess did leave but there was not a true villain to make her.
In a world of lies and crimes of heartbreaks, there were very few cases where the broken hearts were two and not one. There were few screams with silent sobs in the corner of souls that were too happy to suffer too bright to be dim. Yet the sun did let the darkness to take over again as the dawn up surfaced again but for the people who were not stronger; not ready.
"Sir, have you ever regretted anything in life?" A humorless laugh escaped my throat.
"One. Some wounds are cankers for a reason. Like the leaves of autumn that fell, the same way the killer of your love and hope escapes too, eventually. My reason was my own decision. I should be leaving now." saying this, I pulled the mic off my shirt.
Walking through the memory lane of time as he goes through the same hallways of his beloved's lost memories, he thinks about how something so pure was all a lie with a broken existence of hope that his mother will one day come alive from the shadows of death.
"Ask" I repeat the word of endearment that she used to call me with. "You successfully destroyed me, Jeena."
Rafan was not the same man anymore. He is not the same happy go-lucky-guy, not since his mom died, not since the person who promised him nothing but a lifetime of love, comfort and presences left him. The world he was promised was what he wanted, it was enough to complete him of something he did not know he needed. He needed her, he needed Jeena.
"Sometimes I fight the urge to find, if you do miss me. To find out do you feel the same need that intensifies with every recall of our memories, your memories." I couldn't help but ask one old digital picture of us being together, happy and being us.
In the silence of those corridors of his subconscious mind, he makes a sound full promise of finding the remainder of his love and the criminal of his hopes, the keeper of his promises and the rebel of his words, to make it rough for her. To make her feel what he felt. To make her bleed the same way he still bleeds. To make her pay the price he had to pay.
'I am here Jeena. 2 years, it took me 2 damn years to find where you hid to protect yourself. You made the call on my life, you took away my choice and it's only fair if I take yours. Don't worry, mine won't be that long but it will make you fade away and the only thing that will be left behind would be your scars.' I thought with a smirk as my chest felt pressured. I rubbed my chest with my palm, slipping my hand inside my button coat.
"Sir your flight to Istanbul will be... early morning, tomorrow. The details are here." Kabir, my assistant informed, passing me the boarding paper after checking them.
"Okay. Send an email to Ezzah Wadi, thanking her for the information she provided. You can leave." Ezzah thought she will bind two lovers again but Jeena does not deserve that. She thought she could run away from me after giving me the biggest aching of his life but she could not be more wrong and she was about to find that out soon, very soon.
To him, he was the only broken soul in this tragic love story but was it even the love story to began with? It was a mess of dried up tears and lies spoken with a smiling face. It was a game of chase and hiding from your fate. It was the ruins of belief in good and affection.
It was a fairy tale, yes but of love? Not so much...
Finally!
Are you ready for it?
