Chapter III -Adam: Practice Makes Chaos
If you guys asked me, "Yo, what is the hardest thing about writing this book?" The answer HAS to be writing the fighting scenes.
To me, that's the hardest thing so far, because it has to make sense, and it doesn't have sound to goofy.
Well, I worked my butt off on this, but, the cliff hanger at the end of this chapter is worth it ;)
The votes I'll be aiming at are 8+ :)
And I hope you guys have a good morning/afternoon/evening, much luv ❤😘❤

"Are you guys serious? You're literally dragging your swords on the grass! You barely seem to have any muscles!" End said rolling her eyes as they made their way into a good clear area of the forest.
"No need to be so harsh, you know, this IS our first time carrying anything like this, right?" Jerome stated glaring at End, annoyed.
"Yeah, sheesh, you're acting as if it were the easiest thing in the world." Adam added looking around the clearing, and picking up the sword up from the cold, hard, grassy floor.
"It actually kind of is, for us, just like swimming underwater." Quentin said, adding in the 'swimming underwater' part, which to Adam, seemed unnecessary.
"Says the one that looks like a fish." Adam stated crossing his arms.
"Hey! I'm not a fish! I'm an amphibian." Quentin protested once everyone started laughing.
"Yeah, whatever, Mudfish." End said smirking at his direction. Quentin huffed and crossed his arms.
"Alright, I guess we start now, this looks like a really good place to begin." End said looking around. Everyone looked around as well, content at the good selection of an area.
"Alright, Adam right? You seem to be a good candidate to start off with." End said smiling at Adam, who in his mind was thinking, Of course, it had to be me who went first.
"Well, to be honest, I don't think I'm a really good choice, I mean, Mitch is good with a bow, AND a sword, so, yeah." Adam said looking down at his feet. End showed a small frown, unamused at Adam's lack of confidence in himself.
"I didn't say Mitch, did I?" End said crossing her arms.
"Well, no, but-"
"Well, are we going to start, or not?" End said calmly, but with a small angry edge in her tone. Mitch gave Adam a small little nudge towards End. Adam finally sighed, and held his sword up from the ground, "Yeah, I'm ready."
End nodded, and said, "Alright, charge at me."
Adam stared at her blankly, "Are you serious?"
"I am very serious, charge at me." End said looking at him sternly. Adam suddenly swung at her as fast as he could, but End moved to the side just in time to miss his attack. Mitch, Jerome, and Ty flinched when Adam attacked, but Quentin looked hard at Adam's movement.
"A bit too slow, try again." End stated facing Adam once again. Adam did it again, making End move, but this time, the sword managed to leave a mark on her shoulder. Ty and Jerome gasped as they saw the small bleeding scratch.
"Good, a bit better." End said nodding approvingly, paying no attention to the small wound.
"Um, don't you think we should practice with sticks?" Ty asked nervously.
"The reason for doing this with a sword, is to see how strong they are." End remarked looking at Ty, "I know what I'm doing."
"Oh, sorry, it's just that, you got a small scratch." Ty said looking away, embarrassed.
"I'm sure she knows." Quentin stated.
"Alright, change that sword into a stick." End said tossing Adam's sword to the side, where Ty clumsily caught it.
Quentin threw two sticks at End and Adam, who both caught them and looked at each other. "Ok, you charge first, or I charge first?" End asked Adam, who was thinking clearly on this offer. Knowing End for a good while, he knew she was fast, so he didn't bother to say that she would go first.
"I'll go first."Adam said charging at her, who moved to the side and strikes Adam's back softly, with Adam letting out a small squeak.
"I didn't hurt you, did I?" End asked, concerned.
"No." Adam answered, embarrassed.
"Alright, good, just making sure." End said relaxing a bit. Adam massaged his back and waited for End to make a comment. "Like I said, a bit too slow, and make sure to turn around once you miss, for the enemy might attack from behind." End told him. Adam nodded and held the stick. "Now, I'll charge first." End said, and without a second to spare, she charged at Adam, who quickly ducked and turned around, making the two sticks collide into each other. End quickly took a step back, signaling him to stop. "Good, much better." End said giving him a small reassuring nod. Adam nodded back, but in his head, he was thinking, I did it! I'm learning quickly!
"Alright, now, the fluffy one's turn." End said looking at Jerome. Quentin handed Jerome the stone axe (who was holding it for him) and took a step back. Adam saw Jerome give a small gulp and walked up to End, but not too close. "Alright, just like Adam, charge at me." End said waiting patiently. Jerome charged at her, and swung sideways, making End move to the side, but the axe gave her a small scratch on the arm.
"OK I'll be the one training Mitch next time." Ty declared out loud. Everyone looked at him questioningly, but shook it off quickly.
"Good, a bit faster than Adam, but all in all, it was ok." End said swiping her hand across her arm, making the blood on her skin clear, for a while.
"I didn't hurt you, did I?" Jerome asked nervously.
"No, not at all." End answered. Jerome then handed Quentin the axe, and switched to a stick. "Alright, charge at me, again." End repeated. Jerome charged at her, and the sticks collided, but Jerome's stick slipped across the other one, making him fall on the ground, but before End swung at him from above, he held the stick above his head, making the sticks collide once again. End then stopped putting pressure on the stick, and nodded approvingly. "Good defense skills, even though your preferred weapon is an axe, I think if there was that one situation that you had to use a sword, your defense skills are worth it." End explained helping Jerome up.
"Alright, Mitch, your turn." End said once Jerome was out of the way. Adam looked at Mitch, who was about to grab the sword, but Quentin handed him a stick instead. Mitch, confused, looked at End, who didn't do anything in defense of Quentin's choice. Adam was confused as well, but only End and Quentin knew what to do.
"Alright Mitch, you know the drill, charge at me" End said. Faster than Adam and Jerome, he charged at her, who fought back in defense, hitting Mitch on his side. Adam thought he was going to stop, coward out, because End stopped, but instead, Mitch growled in frustration, and charged at End once again, which caught her off guard, but, quickly, she strikes him on the stomach, making him stop.
"If you weren't so frustrated and if you didn't take this seriously, I wouldn't have-"
"STOP, QUIT ATTACKING MY SON!"
Everyone stopped in surprise, and looked around to see where the voice came from. End eyes widened, making Adam realize that she found the source of the voice. Everyone else did as well, when they found out where she was looking. Adam, puzzled, followed their gaze, and once he did, he couldn't help but wonder, why they decided to practice fighting, no, not even that, he wondered why Mitch and Adam came here in the first place, when he looked at King Ross and two other men's surprised faces.
