Chapter 6
-Cheryl-
Work has been so busy this week. Between new client meetings and overseeing ongoing jobs, I barely have enough time to breathe.
Kandie walks into my office. "Do you have a second, Cher?"
Kandie is my best friend. We met when we were in college and started this business shortly after graduation. She's my rock. I trust her more than anyone else in my life.
"Of course, Kandie. What can I do for you?" I ask.
"I have a client who's insisting that she ordered a different material for a couch that was delivered this morning. Can you get me the original order form for the Campbell's?" She replies.
I keep all of the originals in my filing cabinet. People often don't like what they ordered and try to blame us for messing it up, so we always keep the original order form so we can prove that what they ordered is what they received.
I turn my chair around and find the file. I hand it to Kandie. "Here you go. Good luck!"
Kandie smiles. "Thank you."
She pauses a moment in my doorway. "Is there something else?" I inquire.
Kandie answers, "Not really. I was just wondering when you were going to introduce me to this Reed guy that has put this constant smile on your face."
I can't help but grin. "I don't know. I'm not sure what we are? Our sexual chemistry is off the charts, and we tell each other everything. As far as meeting my friends, I don't know. Our time together is so short when he's here that we want to spend every second together."
Kandie nods at me with understanding. "I get it. It would just be nice to meet the guy is all that I'm saying."
"I know." She turns and leaves me to think about what she said. It's not that Reed doesn't want to meet my friends. We have so little time together that we don't like to share our time with anyone else.
Speak of the devil. I receive a text from Reed.
Hey, Beautiful. Are you still planning on visiting this weekend?
I smile.
Of course. Did you think that I would back out?
I see the bubbles that indicate that Reed is responding.
No, I know how things can go with work. I'm hoping no emergency client issues come up.
I laugh to myself.
I already have Kandie on call for any emergencies with any of my clients. Wild horses will not keep me away from you!
His response makes my panties wet.
Happy to hear! See you tomorrow! I can't wait to devour you!
I smile, knowing exactly how my response will affect Reed.
I can't wait for you to devour me!
We say goodbye, and I'm like a giddy school girl so excited for tomorrow.
***
It is my second time visiting Reed in Philadelphia. He mostly comes to me because of having business in Baltimore. We've been seeing each other for over a month now. There have been no, I love you's or will you officially be my girlfriend, but he has been my exclusive partner, and he tells me that I have been his.
I pull up to his apartment building and head inside. The doorman has my information and allows me to go up the elevator to Reed's floor. When the doors open, I walk to his apartment number and knock on the door. A moment later, he flings open the door and pulls me into him.
His lips take possession of mine. We kiss as he closes his door. I drop my overnight bag and wrap my fingers in his hair. His tongue dominates mine. I try to keep up with the pace as he takes my breath away. I moan, and he grunts. We cannot get enough of each other. He pulls away, giving us a moment to catch our breaths.
He places his forehead on mine. "God, I've missed you."
I smile broadly, "I missed you too."
Reed leads me inside. "Come, I made dinner."
I rub my hands together in anticipation. "Ooo, what gourmet meal did you cook up for me this time?"
I'm very please as Reed answers, "Spaghetti Bolognese."
I kiss his cheek. "It smells amazing!"
"I hope that you're hungry," he says.
I shake my head excitedly. "I am."
Reed smiles proudly. "Good! Because you're going to need that energy for later."
Reed gives me a sexy smile and winks at me. I feel that familiar aching heat in my core that Reed has a way of melting with just his words and the anticipation of what is yet to come.
I love Reed's apartment. It is cozy but still manly. It's decorated in grays and whites with splashes of colors as accents. Bright red, orange, and yellow throw pillows are on the gray couch and loveseat, along with red soft fleece throw blankets along the back of them, perfect for cuddling. The walls are all decorated in black and white photographs of landscapes that Reed himself took.
I follow him into the kitchen, and he begins plating our food.
"He cooks, he's so damn handsome, and he gives me the most amazing orgasms I've ever experienced! I hit the damn trifecta with you, Babe." I wrap my arms around his waist and give him a firm squeeze.
I lay my head on his back and listen to his steady heartbeat. He stops what he's doing, turns towards me, and places a feather-light kiss on my lips.
"The feeling is completely mutual, my love. Dinner is ready," he says as he pulls out my chair.
He turns back and grabs our plates and places them on his counter bar.
We sit on the stools. I place the first bite in my mouth, and the flavor bursts; I can't help but moan. "Mmmm."
Reed raises an eyebrow at me, and I blush as he smirks at me. "Damn, woman. That good, huh?"
I smile sheepishly at him and shrug my shoulders. I place another bite into my mouth without responding to him. He laughs, and we continue to enjoy this incredible meal.
"So, what do you want to do this weekend," Reed asks.
I swallow the bite in my mouth before responding to him, "besides the obvious?"
Reed chuckles. I love the sound of his deep voice when he laughs. It melts my heart every damn time. "Yes, besides the obvious."
I think for a moment. "We haven't been out on a formal date yet. I would love to see your city, Reed. I want to see what makes you, you."
Reed replies, "you want me to take you on a date?"
I shake my head vigorously. "Yes, please."
Reed smiles brightly. "I would love nothing more than to show your beauty off on my arm and show you my city."
"Yeah?" I return his smile with my own.
"Yes, Cheryl. I will take you out on a date. Did you bring something dressy, or should I plan a casual date?" He questions me.
"I brought a dress. You know, just in case, but I don't care if it's dressy or casual. Just let me know what you decide, and I'll dress accordingly. What is important is that I'm with you," I say honestly.
He smiles, and his eyes brighten even more.
We spend the rest of our night making up for the lost time. Our bodies intertwined. If someone walked in on us, they would not have a clue where my body starts and Reed's end. We are entirely wrapped up in each other, giving and taking mind-blowing pleasure. All. Night. Long!
