Mackenzie II

As Mackenzie gaped and stared at the body of water beneath her while she walked across the Golden Gate Bridge a stiff breeze blew her way and she shuddered as it hit her exposed stomach. The cropped black top flapped in the wind and she pulled the tan jacket tighter around her body.

As she passed by hundreds of tourists taking pictures with their cellular phones she noticed a pattern. Nobody was alone. Everybody had someone with them. A father and daughter jogged by her and she watched two women kiss after giving each other affectionate gazes. The whole thing made her feel both lonely and guilty for leaving her only friend frozen in time.

She finally got off of the bridge and inhaled the smell of freedom.

Freedom smelled like a Minotaur's breath.

The streets were littered with trash and cars whizzed left and right. With a wave of her hand everything slowed down. Not exactly stopping but more like everything other was moving through molasses.

She gathered a mans papers which had been scattered on the side walk and tucked them safely between his binder and chest. This was one ofMackenzie's favorite things to do. Tarnishing the terrible image that any demigod would think of when they imagined a daughter of Kronos.

She decided then to help people whenever she could. Just getting the papers back to that man gave her a pleasant feeling. Maybe one day, if she continued to do good things like this, she would find a place at one of the two rumored camps.

Yes, Mackenzie had heard of Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. With all of the free time she had in her hands she had enough time to watch the progress of the two camps. With the exception of future she could see any time period.

Personally she loved watching the adventures of Perseus Jackson. They had been both comical and complicated. Even after he had defeated her father in his new form she had watched over him.

She had been to Tartarus herself, as a year long training exercise, and knew the pain he and Annabeth must have been going through.

She had been ecstatic when they had come to Mount Orthys themselves. Although Tessa had forced the thirteen year old Mackenzie to hide at the base of the mountain she herself had pulled Luke Castellan's body away.

Suddenly her vision turned into a tunnel. There was only one other thing she could see. It was Olympus, the light land now completely dark. Fires burned and statues we crumbling. Only one figure stood in the ancient throne room.

Tartarus.
