“Jimin, I really don’t think this is a good idea.” Yoongi commented as he looked around him. When Jimin suggested changing his not being out of the house much, he didn’t think it meant taking him to the heart of Daegu. If Yoongi got lost in his own house, he couldn’t imagine what might happen to him in this concrete jungle.

“Don’t worry, hyung, I’m not going to let you wander too far.” Jimin noticed Yoongi’s still worried face and said, “Just tell me if you get scared or really worried about something, alright?”

Yoongi swallowed his further complaints, though he had many and refocused himself on watching the back of Jimin’s head. He had refused to walk alongside him and instead behind as he wanted to be able to see Jimin at all times. Though he was worried, Yoongi couldn’t help but admire the city around him. The smell of gasoline and clumps of different restaurants had become foreign to his nose. It had been so long since he had last seen buildings that could touch the sky, endless amounts of people on all sides and shops and businesses alive with human glow. Last time he was in the city, he was with his father, who was finishing up with the real estate agent about the place Yoongi was now calling home. It made him shrink a little at just the thought that any one of these tall buildings could have his father inside. It made him want to go wherever they were going even faster.

“Where are we going, Jimin?”

“To a cafe I found.” Jimin said, almost as if he had recited it multiple times.

Yoongi nodded, his uncomfortableness long gone and forgotten. Yoongi looked at the doors of one of the office buildings that was now had people flooding out of it. Yoongi’s eyes widened, “What time is it?”

“12:30, I think. Good time for lunch.”

“I think the offices are letting out for lunch.”

Jimin looked around, “I guess so.”

Yoongi appeared to be the only worried one. He didn’t want to lose Jimin to a crowd of people, it frightened him more than ever to be lost in the one place he wasn’t supposed to be. Yoongi knew his worry would dissipate any moment, he had to let Jimin know he was scared. He promised he would earlier. He looked forward, expecting to see the younger’s blond head in front of him but was instead met with a black haired stranger in a work suit. Yoongi spun his head around. He was surrounded by older looking men in work suits, no Jimin in sight.

“Jimin?” Yoongi called. He was beginning to panic. No, no, he was panicking. “Jimin?” Jimin promised they wouldn’t get seperated. “Jimin!” Yoongi said over the crowd, his voice rising in panic. He couldn’t be lost again. He swore to himself that he never would be lost again. “Jimin!” Yoongi shouted, the fear fairly obvious in his voice, tears welling in his eyes.

Yoongi’s arms went limp by his sides as he continued to scan the mass of people, his body moving itself backwards towards a stores exterior wall. Jimin had left him. Maybe this was just a ploy to humiliate Yoongi. He’d gone through a ton of those after the accident. Yoongi rolled his head around on his shoulders, he had to think positive.

“Jim-” Yoongi was cut off by a slightly smaller body holding him tightly.

“Oh my god, you scared me, Mr. Hoarder hyung.”

Yoongi put his face into Jimin’s shoulder, wearily mumbling a, “I thought I lost you.”

“I thought I lost you too.” Jimin pulled away and started walking. “Now you see why I wanted you to stay beside me.”

“I do.” Yoongi started following Jimin. “Um, hey Jimin?”

“Yeah?” Jimin said, looking at Yoongi.

“Uh, would you..” Yoongi’s face flushed.

“Would I..?”

“Would you hold my hand?” Yoongi flusteredly said.

Jimin looked contentedly up at the older and stuck his hand out, which Yoongi hesitantly latched on to. Jimin laced their fingers together and gave Yoongi’s bright red face a warm smile that only made him redder.

Yoongi could feel the stares of onlookers all around him. Two boys holding hands wasn’t a common sight, especially in Daegu. Yoongi had never experienced this before. Sure, he once had a boyfriend, but they never went out in public hand in hand. The more he observed the younger, the more he was sure that Jimin was walking with swagger, despite the stares, which he was insanely jealous of. It was almost as if he'd done this before.

Yoongi liked holding Jimin’s hand. His hand was larger than the younger's and they fit perfectly together. It gave him a warm feeling that it was almost as if their hands had been made to fit together like that. Yoongi’s fingertips were beginning to get addicted to the feeling of Jimin’s knuckles as they would occasionally run across them. Yoongi began to get more and more comfortable with their hands being interlocked. In fact, he was almost feeling a sense of pride every time he felt new eyes looking at the two. Yes, he was holding this short, blond haired boy’s hand. Yes, he knew they were out in public. Yes, he did care about him. Yoongi smiled softly as he swung the two’s hands back and forth gently.

Jimin on the other hand was having a mental freak out. He’s holding hands with Min Yoongi, his mysterious, enthralling neighbor. The one person whom he’d sworn he wouldn’t get attached to. So much for not getting attached. He was far beyond that. The stares from onlookers only made him panic more. People acknowledging them as together only made it seem more real. He hadn’t held hands with someone while walking places since S. Just the thought made him shiver slightly. Thinking about his and S’s relationship made him want to throw up. His grip tightened on Yoongi’s hand without realizing it until he noticed Yoongi’s flushed face looking at him. Jimin loosened his grip but still held on, he wasn’t losing Yoongi again. If only he could just-

“Jimin?”

“Yeah?”

“Where are we going?”

Jimin smiled softly, this had to be the fifth time today, “A cafe just two blocks from here.”

Yoongi nodded.

As they approached the small cozy looking cafe which appeared to be built into the bottom of an apartment complex, Yoongi turned and looked at Jimin with a bright smile. The place was an exact representation of Yoongi's personality. Cute and quaint.

The two stepped inside and were seated by a waitress with black hair who's tag read “Seulgi”. The entire cafe was softly colored, including the booth which was a light pink color. A light blue vase of soft yellow Rosa sat neatly in the center of the table, which was the first thing Yoongi noticed. He put his finger gently under the petals and excitedly looked up at Jimin and said, “Rosa.” Jimin nodded and looked affectionately at the older who was still fascinated by the little flower.

Seulgi came back to the table with a pen and pad of paper on hand, “Are you two ready to order?”

Jimin looked at Yoongi who nodded.

“I'd like a strawberry bubble tea please.” He said.

Jimin scanned the menu before looking back up and saying, “Peach bubble tea, please.”

Seulgi jotted the orders down before moving to the next table.

The two sat in comfortable silence. Yoongi was too immersed in the little plant in front of him to notice Jimin's eyes admiring him from across the table. Yoongi finally looked up and smiled at the younger. Seulgi came back to table and set the drinks lightly on the table, she winked at Jimin before heading back towards the kitchen. Jimin looked confusedly after her before taking a sip of his tea. His eyes shift to look at Yoongi who was frowning at something on his cup. Jimin swirled the cup around and was met with a phone number. He let out a stifled laugh and rubbed the condensation against the numbers, making them unreadable, which surprised Yoongi.

“Why did you do that? You just got a pretty girl's phone number.” Yoongi said.

“I'm gay.” Jimin said, taking another sip of his tea.

Yoongi's mouth formed a quick 'O’ before embarrassedly sipping his drink. Yoongi was a bit relieved. He didn't want Seulgi in the picture too. Just Jimin and him. That's what he wanted.

“Why'd you bring me here?” Yoongi asked.

“Well,” Jimin leaned back, “I thought for your first outing in a while, I'd take you someplace that reminded me of you. Quiet and pretty. Not too mainstream but not too bare either. None of my loud friends would ever find themselves in here, however I bet you would.”

Yoongi nodded, his mouth going back to his tea's straw. Yoongi scanned the Cafe's walls. They had newspaper clippings pinned to them along with cafe t-shirts and merch hanging up in all places. He had to have one, just to remember this trip by. He tugged on Jimin's shirt a little and the boy turned his attention to him.

“Jimin.”

“Mhm.”

“Could I have one of those shirts? Please?”

Jimin smiled, “Absolutely.”

The two picked up their teas and headed to the cash register and paid. Yoongi reached for his wallet as Jimin mentioned the t-shirt but Jimin refused to let it go anywhere near the register. They exited the small cafe and went back out onto the street, Yoongi swinging his bag as they went.
