Meadow of Dreams
A/N: *This chapter is under heavy editing because of how cringe worthy it is. It is disgusting and utterly ew. I want to delete this and the previous chapters so, so, so fucking badly. Ugh.
Enjoy!

Under any circumstances, Takeshi would've been overjoyed. Ecstatic even. Because, after spending so much time in that claustrophobic, and godforsaken house, the idea of being in the meadows and with the sweet angel only known as Sawada Tsunayoshi should've have been very thrilling and exciting, seeing as Tsuna seemed to be only person who understood him.
And yet . . . why did he feel so uneasy?
Maybe it was because of the unsettling, orange eyes of his 'caretaker' piercing into his. Maybe it was because the friendly mood from before suddenly dropped, turning into something weird, awkward and very uncomfortable. Maybe it was because of the other's fingers digging into his shoulders. For whatever reason, Takeshi didn't know. But he knew that there was a reason as to why the atmosphere and his flying companion's mood changed. He simply didn't know what.
"Hey," Takeshi said, softly, trying not to startle the other, "you okay?"
"Yeah," the other responded. Too quickly. "I'm cool, I'm fine."
Takeshi knew the other was not fine. But he decided not to push the other beyond his limits.
"How long will it take for us to get there?" Takesi asked to ease the silence. Sawada's shoulders sagged and he smiled. But, much like before, there was something dark lingering in it.
"Just a little longer," he answered. "You'll just have to wait."
Takeshi blinked before he groaned. He hated waiting. Blame him for being ADHD whatever, but everyone (and I mean everyone. This is a serious crisis) knows that the jock had the worst line of patience known to mankind, ever. Honestly, ask his dad, as his neighbor, ask anybody. And they would pale and instantly give their approval to the matter.
He was well known throughout the campus in his middle school years as the; 'guy who wouldn't sit still but everyone still likes' dude.
But . . . He sighed. Maybe waiting wasn't so bad if he could see Tsuna again. He needed to exchange a few words with the guy after all; after all that's happened.
When Takeshi heard the whistling of air, successfully snapping him out of his thoughts, he stared down to see the oncoming ground before something completely unexpected happened.
Sawada had dropped him.
"Wahh!" came his piercing scream as he landed on the ground with a dismal and painful thud .
Yamamoto coughed dust. "Itte, itte, 'ttete . . ." he bemoaned as he rubbed his bruised bum before glaring at the culprit who caused such injuries. "Hey! Sawada! What was that about?" He asked in irritation.
Sawada didn't reply though, in fact, he looked like he couldn't do anything at all. His whole body froze and he didn't move. Not even an inch. He seemed to be staring off into space. Takeshi started to worry.
"Hey . . . Sawada," he asked, "are you okay?"
Sawada didn't reply again. He stood absolutely still. His posture was straight but he was dangerously quiet. He wasn't like the normally sassy Sawada Takeshi knew.
Takeshi tried to reach for the shorter male's shoulders. But, suddenly, Sawada reacted violently and roughly shoved him away. Takeshi landed on his bum again and he winced. He stared up to see Sawada's eyes wild and unfocused. They kept blinking and changing color. Takeshi didn't know what that meant, but he knew that it wasn't a good sign.
"Hey!" Takeshi shouted. "Sawada! . . . Sawada! Can you hear me?! Are you in there?!"
Sawada's unfocused eyes landed on him and Takeshi felt vulnerable and afraid. Those eyes kept shifting from orange to red to white then back to orange again. It was unnervingly unnerving.
"I-I c-can't . . ." he stuttered, clutching his head as if he was fighting back a headache. "S-Stay away . . . Y-You need to go . . . T-Tsuna is w-waiting for you . . . "
"O-Oi! Sawada?" Takeshi questioned. He took a step forward, but Sawada reacted quickly by glaring hotly at him.
"I said: STAY AWAY," he roared, more convincing this time. He was on the ground, practically shaking. "I c-can't go see Tsuna . . . N-No matter how much I want to . . . T-This is w-where I-I . . . " he winced. "T-this is w-where I-I b-b-id f-farewell . . . "
Takeshi took a step back and his brown orbs widen. What? What did Sawada mean by farewell? He wasn't being serious, was he? Didn't he say this was his domain? How come he sounded as if he couldn't go any further? Why did he sound like he . . .
like he gave up?
Takeshi's mind was running with endless unanswered queries, but he chose to stare questioningly at Sawada instead. Sawada seemed to know what was going through Takeshi's mind and he grinned. It was a very sad looking grin. Like the smile you make when you know that it was over . . . The smile that showed itself whenever you felt like you couldn't go on anymore. In this situation though, that applied quite literally.
"Yeah," he said, while seemingly touching the air in front of him. "I-I know I said this was my domain . . . B-But e-e-even somebody like me has limits."
Takeshi must've looked confused, because Sawada let out a small sigh. "The Meadow of Dreams."
Takeshi blinked in curiosity and also in worry. No wonder Sawada looked like he couldn't move . . . something was preventing him. "Meadow . . . of Dreams?" The title sounded like something out of a novel. Or a movie.
Sawada nodded his head in confirmation."Yes," he said. He pointed behind Takeshi. His right hand was still clutching his head. "B-Behind you . . . beyond the barrier that may prevent you from entering . . . t-that's where you'll find a meadow. It's a beautiful place full of bloomed flowers that represents the d-dreams of Tsuna that has b-b-been fulfilled."
Takeshi blinked and looked behind him. True to Sawada's words, what met Takeshi's curious gaze was a forest. And beyond that forest, was a meadow.
"I- I bet you're w-w-wondering why I c-c-can't go any further," Sawada said and laughed.
His face morphed into a disgusted smile. "I was created to bring Tsuna down," he spat. His stuttering stopped because he was a good distance away from the border, but he still looked like he was in on a lot of pain and torment.
Takeshi whipped his head and frowned. Why was Sawada being so sentimental? Just because he was the 'rational part' of Tsuna's mind, that doesn't mean he didn't have the right to see Tsuna. They were connected after all, right?
All of this mind mumbo-jumbo was frying his own brain. You could literally and smell the scent of the smoke coming out of his ears for thinking so intensely.
"But that's why," Sawada answered as if reading his mind (again) before he smiled, "I can't go any further . . . Since we're connected, my pain would transfer to him. I-I . . . don't want to hurt Tsuna like that."
Takeshi froze.
He heard the sound of someone soaring and he stared, shocked, as he sees Sawada preparing to fly off.
"Sawada!" he cried before he clutched the hem of the flying boy's shirt. "Where are you going?!"
Sawada stared back coldly before he tore Takeshi's arm away from his shirt. "My job here is done," he said. "I have no other reason to stay."
"But what about Tsuna?!" he shouted back. "Don't you want to see him?!"
Sawada's eyes were covered by his bangs. "Hey, baseball idiot," he said, before he slowly ascended into the sky. "I'm going to ignore that stupid question . . . But tell Tsuna . . . that . . . "
Sawada seemed to swallow a lump caught in his throat. "That I'll be here for him, okay?"
Before Takeshi could ask what that meant, Sawada was gone. Leaving nothing but trails of dust and a crestfallen Takeshi behind.

After the whole incident with Tsuna's counterpart, Takeshi spent the rest of his time trying to look for Tsuna. Well, tried anyway.
"Ow!" He yelped as he tripped on another tree stump. "Ah . . . He said that Tsuna was in the meadows, but he never said anything about a forest before that . . . Maybe this was the thing that would prevent me from seeing Tsuna?" He sighted before standing up. "Well . . . no use being sad now! I have to deliver the message to Tsuna!" He said while pumping his fists into the air, grinning.
"Hehe - wait, hold up a second . . . come to think of it," he said to himself, "where am I?"
Takeshi sweat-dropped. Now that he thought about it, where was he? Every tree looked exactly the same and it didn't take a genius to guess that he'd been running around in circles. He laughed nervously again. Sawada would definitely punch him in the head for that. The thought of the orange eyed brunet kind of deflated his mood. He hadn't known the boy for too long, but the brief time they spent talking together was enough for Takeshi.
They became friends in a really short time - maybe that was because Sawada was a part of a certain someone.
Takeshi didn't have to think about the other for long anymore though, because somebody else came to bring him out of his misery.
"Takeshi-kun," a sweet voice asked. "Takeshi-kun? Uh Yamamoto Takeshi? Uh . . . Hellooo? Earth to Takeshi? Are you in there?" Somebody waved their hands in front of him. Apparently though, those hands chose to pock his cheek in order to get his attention. Luckily, that did get Takeshi's attention.
He stared at the figure and blinked.
"Sawada?" he gaped. "No, no . . . Tsuna?" the other giggled at his flabbergasted tone.
"Of course it's me, idiot!" He chuckled. "Now come along! It's almost time for our departure . . . But before that, I'd like to show you something!"
xXx
As Tsuna led Takeshi through the rough path with ease, Takeshi's mind drifted to a certain person, his heart turning as cold and as hard as a lead the more the brunet talked to him.
"You know," Takeshi said while he was being dragged by Tsuna to god knows where. "Sawada- I mean - your other half said . . . something to me."
Really?" Tsuna asked happily, oblivious to Takeshi's melancholic mood. "What did he say then?"
Tsuna seemed so full of life and bubbling with energy that Takeshi didn't have the heart to deliver Sawada's rather saddening message.
"I really love this place." Tsuna grinned, switching the subject. "I know that this is all just a part of my mind. . . But it's definitely bigger than the garden at the back of my shop, don't you think so, Takeshi-kun?"
Takeshi swallowed the guilty lump at the base of his throat. "Yeah," he agreed. "Definitely bigger . . ."
"Ah . . . Tsunayoshi would say the exact same thing!" he exclaimed. "Because if he was anything . . . it would be supportive." Tsuna laughed, and it brightened the entire landscape. "Now enough of me . . . You said that Tsunayoshi wanted to say something to me?"
With a startling start, Takeshi realized that they arrived at the meadows. It was, just as Tsuna said, large and utterly breathtaking. From every corner, stretched from the east to the far west, everything was surrounded by flowers. Nothing in sight, except for blooming and colorful flowers.
"This," Tsuna said as he lets go of Takeshi's arm, "is what I wanted to show you, Takeshi-kun." Takeshi couldn't make a decent response. He touched the ground beneath him and it burst and scattered into dozens of tiny lights.
"Pfft," Tsuna giggled before covering his mouth. "Y-your hair . . . ahaha, Here-" he scooted over and dusted Takeshi's hair. "Let me help you with that."
Takeshi flushed and lets out his own nervous laugh. After Tsuna finished dusting his hair from the mysterious dust, they both stared into each other's eyes before bursting into a fit of laughter.
"Y'know," Tsuna chuckled as he wiped his tears away. "I wish Tsunayoshi could be here . . . He would definitely scold us for acting so childish." Takeshi's smile vanished.
Ah. There it was again. Tsunayoshi. Perhaps it was time to tell Tsuna the message. It wasn't right for the guy to keep popping up in their conversations, only for his message for Tsuna to not be delivered. He didn't really understand the whole 'rational mind' concept thing because he certainly never had to deal with such conflicts, but he got the fact that Sawada was like Tsuna's twin.
"Ah! Look!" Tsuna exclaimed, stealing Takeshi's attention, as he pointed somewhere in the distant. "It's a sunrise!"
Takeshi blinked. He noticed the shadows that were being cast by his figure and he stared at the same direction Tsuna did.
"Wow," he breathed. "You guys never cease to amaze me . . . How are you able to create something so realistic inside your own mind?"
Beside him, Tsuna smiled warmly. The brunet pulled his knees close to his chest and wrapped his arms around it. Takeshi had the tempting urge to wrap his own arm around the younger male. The kind brunet just looked so . . . well, fragile. It was no wonder Takeshi felt the strangest urge to protect him. It was totally different with Tsunayoshi, who made Takeshi feel comfortable in a boyish way. With Tsuna, he was like the sky. I know, weird right? But that was the most accurate explanation he could make.
Takeshi's mouth opened without his approval and the truth just spilled from his mouth - he couldn't hold it in anymore. The message wasn't that important, but it felt like a ticking time-bomb just waiting to explode inside his mouth, "That other part of you . . . he said he'll always be here, y'know? For you, he'll support you always . . . That no matter where you are, he said he'll be right there guiding you." Takeshi expressed as he stared towards the horizon.
The brunet didn't response. Worried that he might've said something wrong, he switched his gaze towards the brunet only to see him smiling. The smile made all of his previous grins towards Takeshi seem fake.
"Thank you, Takeshi-kun." He said. "Really. Thank you."
Takeshi smiled. Somehow, he felt like he did Tsuna a lot of good. It felt nice to help someone who saved you before.
No, Takeshi though as Tsuna started talking to him about nineteen to the dozen. He helped me countless times before in the past . . . and I just never realized it.
It was the truth, he disclosed, shocked. Then, he was just too stubborn and ignorant to realize it. Tsua was always there, fading away and disappearing in the background. But he was there. That's what made Tsuna a great person. Despite people often taking him for granted, he still supported them. He, Takeshi thought in dismay, was no different. But, like he said, Tsuna still supported him. Tsuna was brave and kind that way. That's why the sky represented him best.
"Well then," Tsuna jumped up and stretched before he smiled down towards Takeshi. "It's about time we went home, Takeshi-kun."
Nodding his head in agreement he also stood and smiled. Tsuna smiled widely back.
As the sun headed steadily towards the horizon, light surrounded Takeshi and then he realized they were heading back.
At the back of Takeshi's mind, he heard the voice of someone. Takeshi blinked in shock before he grinned. He should've known better that, that person wouldn't go down without a dramatic leave. The gratitude warmed Takeshi's heart.
"Thank you."

Flashback: end
xXx
Takeshi woke up to the sound of someone yelling something that sounded weirdly like 'Tenth'.
Takeshi groaned before he shifted his position. His right hand tried to rub his scratchy eyes but something was in the way. Groaning once more, he peeked out of his left eye to see that he was holding somebody's hand. Curiously, he turned his head to the side to see that he was face to face with none other than Sawada Tsunayoshi.
Instantly, his face heated up and he quickly jerked awake. His breathing unsteady and his heartbeat doing a marathon. Coincidentally, Takeshi noticed that he was sleeping in a gazebo.
And he noticed that there was a silver blur running towards him with demonic speed.
"TENTH!" The silver blur bellowed. "YOU BASTARD! GET AWAY FROM THE TENTH!"
Thankfully, due to his natural instincts and the harsh training he got as an athlete, he swiftly avoided the blow without so much as breaking a sweat. However, he did flinch when the punch made the wood he previously occupied crack. Damn, that would've hurt.
"You," the silver haired man growled and turned on him, "you dodged that too easily." He raised his fist and prepared himself for another punch when out of the blue, a small hand touched the silver haired man's arm gingerly.
"Hayato-kun," said the person, "it's not nice to hit people." The guy's reaction was priceless - the dude was suddenly on his knees and banging his forehead repeatedly on the floor.
"YES! PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR MY INSOLENCE, TENTH." he said aloud. Takeshi laughed at this.
"Maa, maa . . . No need to go to such extreme methods." The man stood and glared back heatedly in response.
"YOU'RE NOT ONE TO TALK, PERVERT!" he yelled as he jabbed a finger towards Takeshi dramatically. "VIOLATING THE TENTH WHILE HE SLEPT, SUCH INDECENT ACTIONS . . . I WAS RIGHT ABOUT TO GOUGE YOUR EYES OUT!"
"Hayato-kun . . . "
Takeshi laughed at the somewhat comical display of affection.
Well, no matter, Takeshi thought as he saw the exasperated look Tsuna was directing towards the man named Hayato. At least now . . . I'll never let Tsuna go. Ever again. Takeshi blinked as Tsuna came towards him and gave him a very big, bear hug. It was awkward, but had a lot of meaning to it. As if Tsuna was silently offering him comfort. Hayato's accusing yells faded in the background as Takeshi's face turned beet red.
Yep. Takeshi laughed as he hugged Tsuna back. Definitely never letting Tsuna go.

That's it! I'm proud you guys made it through. (Because damn those were some pretty horribly written chapters if i do say so myself.)
As a reward, the next chapter will be nothing but R27 fluff. I hope you enjoy it!
