Exploring the Past
A/n: I just recently realize my writing sucks, lol. Currently reading an R27 fanfic while writing this, //sighs happily while reading the fluff scene// I love these two. Can't get enough of them. I'm actually concerned at the amount of times I started fangirling about the in public.

Takeshi never flew, and if he did, he imagined it would be by a plane or something.
But literally flying? As in, flying to the sky? Never would've occurred to him.
Takeshi started screaming his head off when Sawada just grabbed his arm and flew into the sky.
"What are you doing?" he yelled. "You're gonna get us both killed!"
Sawada grinned coldly down at him. "It doesn't matter, moron. You can't get killed in a dream," he said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Suddenly, Sawada's eyes turned dark orange with mischief. "Unless . . . of course . . . You'd like to find out?" Takeshi kept his mouth shut and shook his head wildly. He did not want to find out. Sawada's grin stretched.
They flew in the clouds for some time in silence. The only thing that could be heard was the wind souring past Takeshi's ear and the sound of his shaken breathing.
"You don't like it?" Takeshi looked up to see Sawada smirk. "For someone who looks strong and muscular, you act like a coward," Sawada teased, Takeshi laughed, he wasn't affected much by the insult. Takeshi looked down and peered at the world from below.
It's beautiful, Takeshi realized with amazement. It looked exactly like the town of Namimori -everyone was out and they all looked well. The meadows and forest looked so vivid and real, Takeshi had to rub his eyes to convince himself that this was all just a dream.
"Wow," Takeshi breathed. "Everything looks so amazing."
From above, Sawada smiled.
He continued to soar through the clouds, and taking Takeshi from one place to another.
The moment of tranquility was cut off shortly however by a terrified yell from below. Curious and worried, Takeshi looked down. His sharp eyes quickly surveyed the area and found a child being ambush down an isolated alleyway.
"Lemme go!" yelled the child who was shoved roughly onto the wall. His brown eyes were wide with terror and and evocative fear. An inhuman and concerning amount of blood trickled profusely down his screaming lips. The bully smiled evilly and continued to punch the poor boy, his goons doing the same as their leader.
"Haha! What a wimp!" laughed the bully.
"I know right! Haha!" agreed the second one.
"Let's beat him up some more guys!" Grinned the third one. After a lot of beating and pounding, Takeshi was seriously considering on jumping down to help. He also felt terribly confused. He felt like he's seen them before, but he just can't pinpoint when and where.
"Takeshi-kun, don't look down." The said man looked up at Sawada worriedly. Deep inside though, he was furious.
"But that child-"
"I said don't look down," Sawada repeated, angrily. His grip on the jock tightening. "What's done is done, Takeshi," he continued. "We can't do anything about it . . . Everything here is from the past." Sawada said.
Sadly, he was right. Takeshi was thirteen here and no matter what he did, past was past. You can't do undo what was already done.
Feeling miserable and hopelessly helpless, Takeshi resorted to only listen hopelessly to the agonizing screams in defeat. Even after all that, he felt extremely and utterly guilty at the fact that he couldn't do anything about the poor boy's situation. This mere fact alone embedded itself into Takeshi's mind, haunting him for more days to come.
"Who was that child, Sawada?" Takeshi asked when the horrible screams faded away. "You sounded like you knew him." For a second, Sawada didn't response, which led to another awkward silence. But eventually, after sighing in frustration, he gave in to the question.
"It was me, or rather, it was Tsuna," Sawada answered. Takeshi stared up, shock. Come to think of it, the child bore a striking resemblance to Sawada. Why hadn't he notice? "After you waved your . . . 'friends' goodbye, I happened to be around the neighborhood," he said. " So who did they decided to beat their jealousy on? Their frustration in not being as amazing as you? Me, of course. The number one punching bag - useless Tsuna." Sawada finished with a grin. There was something lingering in it, though. A kind that clenched Takeshi's heart.
Takeshi suddenly had the urge to choke and throttle his friends in raging anger. Nobody deserves to be mistreated like that, bullied and called names, especially Sawada, who was practically the most nicest guy you could ever meet. He was a blessing here on earth. He never deserved any of that.
"Takeshi-kun," Sawada said, as if reading his thoughts, because there was so much emotion that was poured out when the brunet said his name. "It's alright. It's in the past now."
In a trance, Takeshi obeyed, and let all of his doubts rest ease. If only, for awhile.
I just wish . . . Takeshi thought as Sawada flew past the forest, that I was there to help him.

When they arrived to their destination, Sawada was careful and graceful in his landing whilst his tall companion jumped out of his grip to land on the nearby pavement. He stretched and yawned, acting very much like a cat.
"Seriously?" Sawada raised an eyebrow as he landed on the ground with ease. "Jumping down while you were that high up in the air? Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me, Takeshi-kun."
Takeshi blushed and laughed. "Haha! Sorry, Sawada! I was just getting jumpy, being in your grip like that for so long." Takeshi said with a faint grin. Sawada crossed his arms and shook his head in exasperation. Takeshi found Sawada doing that more often.
"And besides," Takeshi said. "Didn't you tell me we couldn't die in dreams?"
This time, it was Sawada's turn to blush red. He looked away. "Whatever . . . Come on, idiot," The brunet muttered. "I have something to show you."
Following the embarrassed florist, Takeshi grinned and chatted with him animatedly while Sawada kept on hissing at him to shut up.
Finally, they stopped nearby a house.
Gesturing for Takeshi to follow him, Sawada headed towards the doorway of the house before stopping at the front door.
Slowly, he opened the door to reveal a dark, and swirling abyss.
"Well?" the brunet inquired while Takeshi stood still, frozen in his place. "Are you coming or not?" The jock snapped and nodded stiffly before following the brunet into the house.
Inside, everything was black. Everything. There were random doors to Takeshi's left and right, each a different color from the other, and the floor - wait . . . There was no floor. Takeshi realized with horror that the ground had an invisible cement over it so that Takeshi was hovering above the ground. Takeshi gulped when he tilted his head and saw never ending darkness below him.
"I see you're enjoying my humble abode," Sawada said. Takeshi stared at the brunet in irritation.
"Far from it," Takeshi answered, pretty shaken. "You know very well I'm afraid of heights."
Sawada laughed. His voice echoed throughout the abyss. "Glad to see you're enjoying it," Sawada said, grinning. "So you really did develop a fear of heights after trying to commit suicide. I feel so bad for you, Takeshi-kun." Sawada said teasingly causing Takeshi to blush ten different shades of red again.
"Ha, ha . . ." Takeshi laughed. "You really don't mince your words, Sawada."
Sawada didn't seem bothered by the insult. He laughed coldly once more and beckoned Takeshi to follow him. Sighing in defeat, he followed Sawada while keeping a wary eye on the ground.
He looked up for a moment to see the brunet smile at each door with nostalgia.
"This place," Sawada said, almost dreamily, "is where 'his' memories lie." The orange eyed brunet said. Takeshi stared.
"'His'?" Takeshi asked, curious. Sawada threw a look at Takeshi over his shoulders and rolled his eyes. "The real Tsuna, baseball idiot," Sawada snarled. "Have you forgotten that I'm just an illusion?" Takeshi shook his head and raised his arms up in defense. "Hey, I'm not suggesting anything! And of course I remember!" Takeshi yelled defensively. But in reality, he was sweating profuse bullets.
Taleshi actually did forget that 'this' Sawada wasn't the real one. They were so alike, aside from the orange eyes and the major attitude, he was practically Sawada. Add a few rainbows and flowers in the background to make the mental image inside his head would be perfect.
"Gee," Sawada said while rolling his eyes. "Thanks for the compliment, man. Just because I call you an 'idiot' doesn't mean I'm an asshole, moron." Takeshi jumped and blinked at Sawada in utter bewilderment.
"This is my domain, Takeshi-kun," Sawada said, suddenly deadly serious. "If I wanted to, I could show you something so horrific and terrible that when you wake up, you'll turn into and run around like a madman." Sawada said, his eyes burning a fiery sunset orange in the dark.
Sweat trickled down Takeshi's back. "Ahaha, sorry Sawada," Takeshi said while he scratched the nape of his neck. "Didn't mean to offend you or anything . . . and, wait . . . did you just read my mind again?" Takeshi asked. Both sorry and shocked.
Like the waves of the sea, Sawada's face quickly morphed from anger to one of amusement. "No," he said, shaking his head and smirked. "I just read the emotion on your face. A talent Tsuna gave to me since we're both connected."
His smirk widen. "Come on then." He gestured with his hands. "Places to see, and lost memories to find. Following or not?"

After travelling from one door to another, Takeshi was starting to get a headache from all the scenes and memories that were slowly occupying his mind.
"How many," he groaned, "doors have we already visited? Twenty four? Thirty two? Why are we visiting all of Tsuna's old memories anyway?" Takeshi asked irritably. Sawada shrugged and swatted at him as if he was some kind of fly.
"Just checking to see if all the memories are in their rightful place," he said as he closed a light yellow painted door. It was the memory of Tsuna's sixth birthday part. "And checking if there are any clues of Tsuna's missing past," Sawada said and checked another door. Curiously, Takeshi peeked through it and saw a baby Tsuna being cradled by Nana.
"Sweet right?" Takeshi stepped back as Sawada closed and locked the door. "If only he remained like that . . . never going out and visiting the outside world." He muttered shaking his head. "Sadly . . . we all must grow up. My Tsuna isn't an exception." Placing the key back in his pocket, he continued to walk and lock random doors that were left open. 'Tsk'ing like a mother hen.
"There," Sawada said. Takeshi watched in amazement as Sawada placed the - what number was it again? - seventeenth key back in his pocket and heave a heavy sigh. "Really . . . what was Tsuna thinking . . . bringing and making me babysit this pathetic wimp . . .'' Sawada mumbled but Takeshi heard it clearly. He laughed and apologized profusely.
"You're really an odd one," Sawada mused when Takeshi stopped apologizing. "You're even weirder than that girly looking silver head man that wouldn't stop calling Tsuna 'Tenth'. Honestly, I would've turned him mad if Tsuna did't give me the evil eye." Takeshi smiled at the compliment and sweat dropped at the killer aura.
Deep inside Takeshi, he resisted the urge to frown. So he wasn't the first person that Sawada shared lucid dreaming with. Takeshi felt disappointed.
Takeshi was following Sawada around when he heard the heavy clanking of iron chains. Furrowing his eyebrows he looked up.
And his eyes nearly fell out of their sockets. (Okay, maybe he was exaggerating a little bit.)
At the end of the hallway, was a door darker than the abyss, surrounding them, itself. It was bound by chains and it had something engraved into it. Takeshi squinted his eyes and tried to get closer but Sawada pulled him back.
"No further," he said.
"Why?" Takeshi asked while he stared at the heavily guarded door.
" It says: 'thou shalt not enter, or I shalt cast a divine punishment upon thee.' " Sawada said while he shook his head gravely, "It's written in Italian. Something - or someone, seems to control Tsuna's memories." Sawada answered, shaking his head in sadness. "Not all, just . . . certain memories." He sounded so sad that Takeshi started to pity the guy.
" . . . Those are the memories Tsuna badly needs," he said. "I-If only I could open it. . ." Takeshi frowned and patted the other on the back.
"I'm sorry . . . Do you want me to try and open it-"
"NO!" Sawada barked and shook his head. Takeshi was so startled, he took a step back.
Takeshi's curiosity sparked to life but before he could ask, Sawada sent him a warning look.
"I'm not telling you, Takeshi-kun," Sawada said. Takeshi guessed upsetting Tsuna wouldn't be pleasing. The jock frowned and his shoulders slumped; he wanted to know.
"Oh, shut up you big idiot," Sawada sighed as he turned around. "That look might work on Tsuna, but it won't work on me." Takesi struggled to follow Sawada. His footsteps making echoing sound throughout the darkness.
After what seemed like thirty minutes, they walked out the door. Takeshi had to shield his face because his eyes weren't accustomed to such brightness after spending so much time inside that dark house.
Sawada stretched and lets out a contented sigh. Surprisingly, he kept moving.
"Sawada!" Takeshi yelled and shuffled after him. Sawada threw him a bored glance.
"We're heading towards the meadows," although he said this in an unenthusiastic way, his eyes revealed otherwise. "We're meeting up withTsuna."
