TWO
TWO
"Hey mama."
Dannika Novak spoke in a broken whisper as she sat beside her mother's grave, tears rapidly filling up inside of her eyes, making them red and puffy.
The grave was decorated with all sorts of little trinkets and decorations, many of which were photos of her mother with Dominik and herself, varying from when she was a child to all the way up to a couple of days before her death.
The forget me nots that had been crushed were laying on the soil in front of the gravestone, some of the petals falling off or clinging desperately on, which seemed to sum up the dead woman's daughter too.
Dannika had never gotten over her mothers death and she never would. When Covid-19 took her from the world, Dannika had wanted to go with her.
Dominik had battled incredibly hard to keep his sister around with him, since he himself did not think that he would be able to put up with losing his mother and his sister at the same time.
He had dragged her to his boxing classes just to take her mind off it and let her take her anger out on a punch bag instead of herself.
He had dragged her to his football matches so that she could distract herself and concentrate on her brother kicking a football around for ninety minutes.
"I miss you."
Dominik Novak stood in the distance as he watched his sister crumbling by the second, his fingers pinching at the bridge of his nose as he heard her cry in front of their mother's grave.
He watched as she broke down, making all sorts of pleas and cries before he rushed forwards to wrap his arms tightly around his sisters frame, pulling her against his chest as she sobbed.
Tears fell from his own eyes as they settled on the photos that were scattered across the grave, biting on his bottom lip to avoid breaking down himself since his sister needed him in that moment.
Dannika wrapped her arms around her brothers shoulders as she clung to him, hugging him tightly whilst her head was nestled in to the crook of his neck, her tears soaking in to his shirt though he didn't seem to mind.
Dom pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his sisters head to comfort her, his fingers running through the long brown locks on her head.
His eyebrows furrowed together as his phone began to vibrate, removing one of his hands from his sisters frame to remove the device from his pocket, reading the text message that he had recieved.
"That guy says that he's bought new flowers for mom." The male Novak spoke gently, watching as his sister pulled away from him to read the message.
"Are they forget me nots?"
"He says they are."
"We need to go and get them, mom wouldn't want squashed flowers." Dannika muttered as she pushed herself up to her feet, brushing the dirt off from her body.
"Are you sure that you're up for it?" Dominik spoke in concern, watching as his sister frantically wiped the tears from her face.
"He owes mom flowers, of course I'm up for it." Dannika began to walk towards her car, hearing her older brother chase after her.
As soon as the two of them made it to the flower shop, they noticed the same guy who had trampled on the flowers waiting patiently outside of the shop, with the largest bouquet of forget me nots possible in his grasp.
The man, who's name was Logan, smiled sadly at the two siblings, nodding his head towards the brother whilst carefully holding the flowers out to the woman far enough so that she couldn't hit him.
"Are these okay? I didn't know how big you wanted the bouquet so I got the largest one they had."
Logan Sargeant spoke in his American accent, watching the Novak woman's face which was previously full of anger, fade as she took in all of the flowers.
Her arms gently accepted the flowers, the softest of smiles coating her features as her eyes took in almost a hundred of her mothers favorite flowers of which were perfect and not trampled by the American man's large and stupid feet.
Logan reached his hand out towards her brother to shake his hand, being grateful when the man accepted the hand shake with no aggression or attitude towards him at all.
His sister however, was not so easy.
"Are the flowers okay, miss?"
"Well they're a lot better than the ones that you fucking trampled, if that's what you meant." Dannika glared coldly at the man, watching as he gulped nervously.
"I am so sorry about that, I wasn't looking where I was going." Logan apologised profusely at the brunette.
"Yeah no shit! You're lucky that I didn't stamp on your legs for ruining our mom's flowers!" Dannika yelled as anger flooded her system once again.
She couldn't help but be angry.
She had lost her mother, the person who would always calm her down, and the man had trampled on the flowers that they had bought for her to decorate her grave, and it infuriated her.
She took a step forward towards the man, stopping only when two new faces filled her vision as they ran inbetween the American amd herself.
"Woah!"
A brown haired man spoke in panic as he immediately raised his hands in to the air in defence, eyes wide since he didn't expect her to be so angry.
His accent was strange to her ears, sounding similar to Australian but ever so slightly different that it made her brain falter in confusion.
"Who brought the Koala?" Dannika glared at the new arrival, watching as all four men near her were trying to hide their smiles.
"Koala's are Australian, I'm not an Aussie, but she's too scary for me to correct her." The man whispered quietly, causing Dominik to snicker in amusement.
"That's Marcus, he's my friend." Logan spoke smoothly, seeing her slowly nodding her head in understanding.
"Okay, well Marcus can you please get out of my way?" Dannika gave the new arrival a sickly sweet smile, watching as he nodded his head once before side stepping out of the way.
"Of course, miss Scary woman."
Marcus Armstrong quickly moved out of the woman's way, standing beside that of his fellow countryman who had joined him in trying to stop the Novak girl from beating the life out of their friend.
Liam Lawson, Marcus and Dominik watched as Dannika began to let her anger out on the Sargent man, noticing how he didn't step back and just let her take out all of her frustrations out on him.
Logan stood completely still as he allowed her to scream at him, since he could see it in her eyes that she was grieving and struggling.
He didn't see a point in trying to defend himself, because no matter what he could have said, he was in the wrong.
The girl was grieving and he had made it so much worse for her, by not looking where he was going and walking in to her, knocking the flowers out of her hand and squashing them.
He deserved every single bit of anger and abuse that she was giving him.

"Have you calmed down now?"
Dominik spoke with his arms folded in front of his chest, staring expectantly at his sister who was sitting on the sofa of their home.
"No."
Dannika muttered as she was curled up in a ball, her knees tucked in to her chest. Her hair was damp since she had not long since been out of the shower, of which she had spent a long time in boiling hot water.
"Well, you need to. Logan has invited the both of us out with free tickets as an extra apology." Dominik sat beside his sister, taking a sip of the coffee cup that was on their coffee table.
"Where to? A flower trampling festival?"
"No. A race."
"What kind of race? A race to see how many flowers he can crush?" Dannika spat in a venomous tone.
"A Formula Two race, actually. In which he drives in." Dominik leant back against the arm of the sofa, seeing his sisters eyes widen as she came to the conclusion that he had a lot of money.
"Damn, he's rich?"
"That's not the point of this, but yes." The male sibling spoke with a chuckle, wrinkles forming around his eyes as he grinned.
"Maybe I don't hate his guts and hopes that he dies, as much as I thought I did."
Dannika let a smile form on her face, of which was a very rare occurrence nowadays, eyes lighting up with an unknown emotion.
"Mr Logan Sargeant, maybe you can be forgiven, after all."

A/N
This is so short, but I needed to get it up so that I didn't lose hope in it
What do you think? I'm sorry its not great.
Dannika at the moment is a character who is so blinded by her grief and hate for Logan, that she isn't thinking things through, but we'll see that she originally plans to use him.
But that won't be for long, because Dom may or may not be planning their wedding, just saying.
Anyway, I hope that you all enjoy this short chapter and I'll see you all soon for the next one,
I'm so proud of all of you, my loves
Love you all,
-RUBY
