It had always been common knowledge that Dominik Novak was the nicer of the two siblings.
He was the more caring sibling, more empathetic, more understanding, more loving and more friendly than his sister Dannika who was always considered the mean one.
Dannika never minced her words, her silver tongue always spitting venom whenever she felt like it or whenever she saw red.
But she was also different to her brother in the way she had a tendency of being calculated, not afraid to use people until she got what she wanted, which was what she was planning on doing with a Formula Two driver known as Logan Sargent.
She was currently in the paddock at one of his races with her brother, walking to where they were told to go to by the Sargeant boy, seeing him standing just outside of his garage for the two of them.
Logan Sargent shook hands with Dominik straight away as soon as they arrived in front of him, deciding not to do the same with the female Novak since she was always aggressive with him.
Which was why he was very surprised when she held her hand out to him for a handshake, but he quickly accepted it, worried that if he hesitated that she would pull her hand away.
"Thanks for the invite, this place is cool."
Dannika gave the American a fake smile, noticing how he didn't notice and smiled back at her, his eyes sparkling as he did.
Dominik furrowed his eyebrows together at the smile that his sister was giving the man. She never smiled like that before.
"Well, I wanted to show how sorry I was, and figured that you'd enjoy yourselves here, with tickets that I paid for."
Logan spoke as he stared down at her, his heart beating slightly faster since the day was not going like he had expected it to go.
He expected it to be so shit, where she would give him nothing but abuse and hatred filled stares all day but instead he was seeing happy smiles, laughs and giggles from her.
Maybe she had forgiven him.
"We appreciate it, man."
Dominik Novak smiled, knowing just how hard the man had tried to make up for what he did, buying the largest bouquet of their mother's favorite flowers as a replacement for the ones that he trampled.
Since he had given Logan his number, the two boys had been messaging quite a bit, discovering that they had quite a lot in common with one another.
Except for the driving fast cars around a track and being super rich, of course.
"I can give you both a tour if you would like?" Logan offered the two, seeing how they instantly agreed, large smiles on their lips.
"That would be great, thank you Logan." Dannika spoke whilst maintaining eye contact with him, making sure to use his name for the first time, before walking ahead of him, in to the garage.
Logan briefly glanced down at his arm as her bare forearm brushed against his, her smooth hand touching against his own, making goosebumps lick his skin and the hair on his body to stand on edge.
He also found his smile growing at his name leaving her lips for the very first time.
She must have forgiven him.
The Sargent boy took his time in showing the siblings around his garage, unknowingly and unintentionally sticking to Dannika's side like glue, brushing his skin against hers without even realising that he was doing just that.
Dominik didn't even notice how his new friend was practically following his sister around like a lost puppy even though they were in his garage, but she did.
Dannika was trying so hard to hold her smirk back knowing that her plan was working, and that soon she would have exactly what she wanted.
Logan Sargent in the palm of her hand.
Oh, and free tickets to every race for the season, but that wasn't that important, at least not to her.
The tickets would go to her brother so that she didn't have to see Logan again, because she didn't exactly want to see him again, and it meant that she could have some time alone without her brother breathing down her neck every twenty seconds, worried that she was going to have a breakdown.
She just wanted time to herself so that she could stay by her mother's graveside, or to fly back to their home country and annoy her father and his new partner, who she hated, about how he had left his family for a woman who was nowhere near as good as her mother.
Because divorce sucked.
Even as an adult, she had still never gotten over how her father had just packed his bags and left her mother and his two young children, only giving them his contact details once they had turned eighteen.
Her mother had always said that he had never once tried to battle for custody of his children in the divorce, letting her mother have full custody over them, but it just didn't seem right.
What kind of father didn't fight for his kids?
Apparently hers, since on her eighteenth birthday she had decided to take the risk and fly all the way to Slovenia to see her father, finding how he was settled with his new partner.
"Dannika!"
Dannika immediately jolted out of her trance at the sound of her brothers raised voice, lifting her gaze to see him staring at her with a sympathetic look, Logan standing beside her with his hand on her shoulder in worry.
"What?"
The Novak woman pulled a face of disgust at her brother which made him chuckle, arms folded in front of her chest though she didn't move her shoulder, allowing the American to keep his hand there until he decided to remove it, though she wanted nothing more than to push his hand off her.
"Logan asked you a question, idiot." Dominik glared at his sister, though he figured that she had zoned out, most likely thinking about their late mother.
"Oh, right." Dannika muttered, lifting her head to stare at the tall Formula Two driver, giving him the nicest smile that she could muster. "Sorry Logan, what was the question?"
"It's okay." Logan smiled gently down at her, also figuring that she had zoned out. "I asked if you would like to come to more races, because I can get you a pass for every race this season if you would like me to?"
Dannika's eyes widened slightly, surprised that it was way easier than she thought it would be.
"Sure! That sounds great, I would love to come to more of your races and support you more." The Slovenian fluttered her eyelashes at the man as she stared up at him, her lips twitching up in to a genuine smile for only a brief moment.
"Great, I'll get that all sorted and I'll text Dom when I've got your passes done. Did you want any food from hospitality?"
Dannika shook her head from side to side as she smiled, noticing how her brother had nodded, agreeing to stay where she was whilst the two of them headed to quickly grab some food.
Dannika on the other hand, had other ideas.

"Woah, you're leaving?"
A strange accent sounded from behind as her as she made her way towards the exit for the paddock, having to stop in her tracks, turning her body around to see two boys staring at her.
They were both familiar, with the both of them having been there the last time that she saw Logan, trying to stop her from punching him and possibly killing him.
"I left something in my car so I was just going to grab it."
"Yeah, we've heard that before, you're not fooling anyone."
Liam Lawson chuckled as he detected her lie straight away, noticing how she faltered at his instant recognition of her lie.
"We know that we can be boring, but you could at least stay for two laps of the actual race."
Marcus Armstrong found himself rolling his eyes at the woman, who only glared back at him, making him cower away behind his fellow countryman.
"Okay, so it's not really my thing and I had this really long boring tour by Logan and I just want to go home and sleep, is that good enough for you to let me go now?" Dannika questioned the Lawson boy, choosing to not even glance at the other one standing beside him.
"No." Liam shook his head from side to side, holding his hand out for her to take. "You need the fun tour of my garage and then you can go."
Liam grinned as he noticed her reluctantly taking a hold of his hand, playfully skipping along as they walked all the way to his garage, where he gave her the tour that he knew she would like.
"That's my car, it's quick. That's my mechanics, they're good. That's my boss, he's scary. That's my spare tyres, they're important. And the best bit-" Liam spoke quickly, pointing so that she barely had any time to pay attention which he figured she wanted.
"This is the coffee machine and where our tour ends."
The Lawson boy did jazz hands to celebrate the end of his little tour.
"Can I leave now?"
"Not until you've had a coffee from our gift shop!" The New Zealander grinned proudly as he noticed how the edges of her lips twitched up slightly in a ghost of a smile that she was trying to force back and hide.
"Fine, but it's only because you're a great tour guide." Dannika found herself chuckling, starting to make a coffee from the coffee machine, rolling her brown eyes at the Lawson boy who was silently celebrating.
"And you are the kind of person that I would happily give this tour to, over and over again." Liam shot her a playful wink, hearing a small giggle leave her lips.
Liam couldn't explain it why he was so happy that she was not going around punching people or being moody and not speaking. He understood why she had done those things in the first place, because he couldn't imagine being in her position at having to grieve for her mother with her favorite flowers being trampled on.
He knew that it would have only intensified her grief which only made him feel sorry for her more.
He figured that it was her defence mechanism when confronted over her grief, confrontation against people and staying in a mood with them for as long as she wanted. He knew that she must have been really close to her mother for her to react such a way, which made his sympathy for her grow.
He hoped that in time, she could forgive Logan for what he had done, albeit accidentally, and possibly become friends with him.
Maybe something even more than that.
Because despite not knowing her for long at all, he felt confident that she was comfortable around him, trusting him and not punching him.
He confidently now called her a friend, and only hoped that she could do the same.

A/N
This is literally so shit and there's barely anything going on in this chapter and I am so sorry but I needed to get this chapter up because I was honestly struggling with updating anything and I'm hoping that this will help to motivate me a little bit
What do you think?
Dannika is probably one of my meaner OC's, and whilst she will become nicer, she will always be a little bit toxic, because nobody is perfect. And I love her, Dominik too.
Anyway, I hope that you all enjoy whatever the hell this chapter is and I'll see you all soon for the next one,
I'm so proud of all of you, my loves
Love you all,
-RUBY
