The Football Game-1
.
“What!? No no, you can't make me do that!” Calvin shouted rather annoyedly. He was standing in front of his math teacher's desk. School had just ended and he was pleading with the middle-aged teacher.
“Actually, I can. I am your teacher after all.” Mr Josh said as he leaned back in his chair.
“Come on! It's one point, just please raise it!” Calvin begged. He'd just scored an 87% on a quiz and his grade in the class had dropped to an 89.4%
“You can either go to the football game tonight and get five points, or you don't go and I don't change your grade.” The teacher stated plainly.
Calvin groaned inwardly. “Fine. How much is a ticket?” He started to go grab his wallet.
“Eh, nope” Mr.Josh sat up. “You can get your ticket at the game, I don't trust that you'd actually show up otherwise.”
Calvin glared at the teacher, wishing his stare would implode the man.
“Fine.” He stated while he grinned his teeth. “How much will the ticket be, and when is it?”
The Teacher just smirked, “There we go Mr. Morris. Five dollars, six pm at the football stadium tonight. I'll be happy to personally give you your ticket.”
Calvin just gave a scowl, nodded, and left the room, leaving a very pleased teacher.

“That's rough buddy,” Andi said over the phone. She was Calvin's best (if only)friend.
“Andi, pleeease go with me,” Calvin begged as he looked at himself in the mirror. “Being alone will make it waaaay worse, which seems impossible but here we are.” He groaned as he took the jacket off and went to grab another one.
“Sorry, but me and my mom are having a movie marathon tonight. It's been planned for weeks, it's pretty hard to find time to spend with your mom when she's the principal of a highschool.” Andi stated as the sound of popcorn popping started in the background.
Calvin sighed as he decided on a big sweater to go with his ripped black jeans. “Fair I guess. But I will remember this.” He said as he grabbed his keys and headed downstairs.
Andi laughed. “Okay then, talk later.”
“Byyyyye.” Calvin said to his friend before hanging up. “I'm going to the football game, I'll see y'all at breakfast!” He yelled to his parents as he reached the bottom of the stairs.
“Bye hunny! Drive safe.” His mom called from the kitchen as he went out the front door.
He turned on his car and pulled out his phone, starting his “Short Drive” playlist for the six minute drive.
As Calvin pulled into a parking spot he turned off the playlist and the car went silent as well as dark. He leaned his head down onto the steering wheel as he groaned, mentally preparing himself.
It was five fifty-six, cutting it very close to the start of the game. He hopped out of his car and headed to the ticket stand. The sun was readying to set within the next half hour and the field lights were already on, bringing the glaring artificial light to the area.
As Calvin stepped up to the ticketbooth he saw Mr. Josh inside, a smile growing on his bearded face as he saw the teen walking up.
“Mr. Morris, glad you could make it. Do you want a ticket?” The teacher asked smugly.
Calvin rolled his eyes and handed over the five dollars, receiving the ticket in return.
“Hope you enjoy the game.” Mr. Josh said before heading quickly out of the booth And towards the locker room to talk to the team before the game.
Calvin contemplated just going home now, but he knew that probably wouldn't end well. Mr. Josh and his dad were good friends and he'd probably be ratted out. Even ignoring that, Calvin knew the ticket was for a seat up front near where the coach would sit and team get water, so Mr. Josh would definitely see he wasn't there.
Calvin scurried through the large group of people, his ears begging to not exist as the loud voices just grew worse as the announcer started. He came to his spot in the first row and sat down, grumbling.
He immediately pulled out his phone before groaning again. He'd forgotten to put his phone on charge and now it was only at twenty-five percent. His eye twitched as he gave up. He looked out at the field as the game started.
Calvin knew almost absolutely nothing about football, even with his dad being a huge fan and even playing it at university. All Calvin knew as the game went on was that their team was winning.
By the halfway point their team had atleast double the touchdowns as the other team. Calvin was almost impressed. He'd noted how most of them had been done by number 16, a tall muscular dude with dark hair. He couldn't tell if the player was a ravenette or a brunette due to the lighting.
Their team has won by almost three times the amount of the other team by the time the game was over. The feild lights started flashing, people started screaming and the music was blaring.
Calvin shut his eyes and covered his ears as he tried escaping. His attempts were futile as the large mass of people prevented him from doing anything besides standing there hunched over.
“Hey, are you okay?” Calvin looked up and saw some dude. His eyes and ears started to adjust back to normal as the screaming, lights and music calmed down as people began leaving the bleachers. “What?” Calvin managed out.
“Are you okay?” Calvin began to recognize who it was as he looked into the Sapphire eyes. It was number 16, the dude who basically had won the game by himself.
“Yeah, yeah. I'm fine.” Calvin sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than the stranger.
“Oh, good. I was concerned for a moment.” The tall dude flashed a charming smile and Calvin was confused on if he was supposed to know this person. He was about to ask when he got interrupted.
“BABE!” Both young men turned as a girl ran over and threw her arms around the football player. “You did so good!” She said looking up at him.
“Thanks Lai.” The taller said as he looked into her eyes. He pressed a quick kiss to her deep red lips.
The girl looked over at Calvin and moved her deep, dark brown hair behind her ear. “Maverick, who’s this?” She asked kindly.
The dude, apparently Maverick, seemed to jolt back to reality. “This I'd my friend Calvin, from history. Calvin, Alaina. Alaina, Calvin.” He gestured between the two.
“Hi” Alaina greeted Calvin with a wave.
Calvin had to shake his confusion of how the dude knew who he was off before responding. “Uh, yeah, hi” He tried to give his best smile but it was crooked.
“Well it was nice to meet you!” Alaina smiled. “Now come on Ricky, we've got to Cel-E-Brate!” She yelled and threw her Arms in the air before starting to walk off.
Maverick stood there for a second, just smiling at Calvin before coming back to reality. “Bye Calvin!” He flashed a charming smile and waved before running to catch up to his girlfriend.
Calvin stayed in place confused as everyone left. He made his way back to his car and sat in it confused. Next time he was in history class was going to be weird.
