In New York

Caroline had been preparing for a fundraiser. It was a great distraction from the world her family had lived since she was a little girl. Being a child of a Professor of medieval studies and demonology, she knew nearly all ins and outs of the occult. When she was seven her father was killed by a vampire and her mother then decided to send her to Virginia to live with her grandmother in a small town called Mystic Falls. There she made friends with a girl who also would be visiting her relatives during summer holidays, and the two girls struck a friendship for life.

"Elena - what?" Caroline said to her friend as she picked up her phone.

"Where are you now. I have something that will rock you. It rocked me." Elena said.

"Home" Caroline replied.

"See you." Elena said and hung up.

Caroline knew that something major went off when Elena used enigmatic intro. Her mother then walked in and asked her about day.

"Elena and I are going to have something to eat. Talk about what dress will suit the masks best, and definitely talk about her dream boyfriend. And inbetween she will kill a few vampires, because she will be bored after I make her try on a few dresses. And most probably the shop assistent will be one of them- and you?"

"I have a text to translate" Liz said, "how are you coping?!"

"Ok. The wolf in me is quiet. For now" Caroline replied.

She knew her mother was actually wanting to ask her that straight out, but she knew that her daughter was reluctant to talk about her werewolf aspect.

"You will be fine." Liz said " I will find the spell,  to make it easier for you"

"I know mum,  but - why am I turning at the Dark moon? Shouldn't it be the opposite?!"

"When you were born we did the chart and it pointed out that you were the one that will stop the ending of all." Liz said

"With the werewolf of the litted full moon, the one that bears the name Klaus - I know the story!"

"Anyway, I'd like us to have family dinner on Sunday,  or supper? Invite Elena?"

"Great- ok- and thanks mum."

"I know that you hate all this- but- " Liz made a little sigh.

Caroline sighed a little too, "I am not like Elena. She was so ok with all this when she realized that she comes from a family of vampire hunters.  And when I look at her the way she kicks their - ahm-stakes them- she is like 'job done'- anyone else want to spoil- my- night- out- come-to-me-and-I-will-show-you- "

At that note, Liz would always quietly mutter something and leave her. And Caroline would go back to whatever she was doing, as it was the case again.

In New Orleans

Elijah read nearly all Elena's tweets. They consisted more about her view of the world, sharing other people's wisdom and sayings

Rebekah walked into the room and wanted to know what he had planned.

"Sophie tried a locator spell,  and she can't be located. She also tried to crack the IP address - no such luck. "Elijah updated his sister.

"And mother?" Rebekah said.

"Nothing" Elijah replied frustratingly.

"I hate that " Rebekah frowned then moving her head towards the door and smiled at a man who walked in.

"Hello, darling!" Rebekah greeted him and gave him a peck as he came up to her, "you're back early."

"Hello Jackson" Elijah greeted  the man now.

"How was your trip to Virginia?" the wolf asked them.

"How do you know about it?" Elijah now wondered.

"Because you told me a week ago that you will be going there."-he looked at Rebekah puzzled. It was no secret.

"I phoned you?!" Rebekah questioned.

"Yes, you said that you have to go there because you have to get the remains of an old witch. For the joining ceremony, and all of you had to go because you were needed to undo the spell on the coffin" Jackson explained.

Elijah moved away slightly.

"If we are moved in different realities and brought back-  someone must be compelling us to forget all of it"

"But why? What's the point?" Rebekah said annoyed.

"You told me when you arrived here two years ago that you came from Europe,  because you had to escape your father." Jackson then said.

"Our father is dead." Rebekah said.

Jackson then saw the picture of Elena on Elijah's tablet.

"You know her?!" Jackson said.

"Yes." Elijah then confirmed, " what? You know her, too?"

"Of course. Her aunt and I studied together in NYU." Jackson said.

"An aunt? - I have to go"
Elijah said abruptly leaving  Rebekah and Jackson who looked stunned at Elijah's sudden change. He had the information that he needed and immediately went to make arrangements to go to New York.

In New York, Elena was retelling Caroline all that had happened at Liv's.

Elena was not happy about the revelation and Caroline didn't remember seeing her friend in such despair.

"He is a vampire!" Elena then said to her friend.

"OMG! Wow! Seriously?!" Caroline exclaimed.

"Yes! Huh" Elena exhaled, "why- I mean- I don't get it?  Why would I be close to a vampire or even dance with him???"

"You probably didn't know that he is a vampire, maybe he can disguise it, like me" Caroline tried to find a plausible solution and calm her friend down.

"I felt - oh-it was so strong- when I remembered" Elena was teary, "it was amazing. NO, no. I can't be in love with a vampire! I can't! You know that I - will kill him- I can't control it when it comes to the moment my hunter instincts take over"

"Wait a minute" Caroline then said, "but you said that you told that witch- what was her name again?"

"Bonnie" Elena said.

"You told her that she should look after him???"

"This is all crazy" Elena sat down on the chair at the table looking at her friend, "there are two women that look exactly like me"

She then told her about Tatia and Katerina.
