Chapter 12
Mr. Shiv Malhotra was keenly checking each and every thing in the office and he has been to every floor making all the staff nervous.
Some people were buttering him, some people trying to act extra smart infront of him and some people stood quietly in a corner due to fear.
Aadhya saw when he reached their floor and observed how everyone are behaving around him. She was quiet shocked at their behaviour as everyone seems to act as hardworking and sincere employees except for some people.
Sonia Dixit was boasting herself and tried to make herself feel high by scolding her juniors in front of him. Aadhya chuckled when she saw Mr. Malhotra had completely ignored her and talked to her juniors asking them about the work and office.
" You all can continue to do your work, I will go and meet Rishabh." He said and turned to see Aadhya looking at him.
He smiled at her and walked towards her.
" How are you beta? Is everything fine here?" He asked smiling at her.
" I am fine and everything is good." She said smiling back.
Everyone on the floor were whispering to each other and trying to know what they are talking as they could only see Mr. Malhotra interacting with Aadhya who was smiling.
First thing they never saw him so smiling towards any staff and the next thing was Aadhya's smiling which also they never saw. They were curious and peeking glances at them to know what's really going on. They stopped their peeking and returned back to their work when they saw Mr. Malhotra looking at them seriously.
He went into Rishabh's cabin and Aadhya resumed her work.
" Rishabh! What are you doing?" He asked looking at his son who is looking at the city through the huge glass window.
" Why are you here dad?" He asked making him sigh.
" Why can't I be here?" He asked back.
" You can but I need the reason." Rishabh retorted.
" It had been months since I visited and I just want to check how everything is going on here." His father replied sitting down on a chair.
" Check and report the princess about everything?" Rishabh snapped making his father looking at him shock.
"Why are you so angry Rishabh?" He asked frowning.
" I am not angry. I am irritated with the fact that she is not least interested about her own company and here I am working hard day and night for the development of the company to just hand it over to her some day." Rishabh shouted.
His father didn't see anger in his words, he saw love for this company and his insecurity that he had to leave some day.
" Your hardwork will not go waste Rishabh. Don't forget that you are the hier of Malhotra Industries along with your brother which you will be handling it in the future." His father said seriously.
" For that you and bhai are there and it's going well too. But this company was in a drastic state when I first came here and I had worked hard to bring it to the top. I still have to do much more to this company to make it again one of the top most companies in the country and the company needs me.....I can't just think to leave it." Rishabh said sighing.
His father looked down feeling bad for hiding the truth about Aadhya from him.
" Son, please don't hate her for this.....just think from her point of view. She had just lost her whole family and is not in a position to handle a company. She suffered a lot and is still suffering.....she still needs time." His father tried to explain.
" And moreover she trusts you." He added and Rishabh snapped his head looking at him.
" What? Does she know me?" Rishabh asked exasperated making his father laugh.
" Yes, enough to trust you.....I guess." His father shrugged and Rishabh narrowed his eyes at him.
" Dad, are you hiding something from me?" Rishabh asked.
" Yes." He replied.
" What?" He asked anxiously.
" It's better to stay hidden for now but don't worry you will know about it soon." His father said looking at him and he nodded his head unsure.
" So is that the only reason you don't want to leave this company?" His father asked raising his brows.
Rishabh looked at him and immediately his gaze went to Aadhya who was talking on the phone.
" Ok I understood." His father said smirking at him.
" What? I didn't even said anything." He looked appalled at his father.
" Sometimes you don't need to say anything." His father said and went out of his cabin leaving Rishabh confused.
Aadhya was on her way back to her desk from washroom when she saw Mr. Malhotra standing in the balcony staring off into the distance and she went to talk to him.
All the staff were in lunch and she would have no problem in talking with him.
" What are you thinking uncle?" She asked.
" Are we doing wrong by hiding truth from Rishabh?" He asked not looking at her who froze.
She had never thought about this.
" I don't know." She sighed.
" He will know when the right time comes." He said to himself.
" But if he knows the truth all the hard work he had done for months goes waste as he will leave the company immediately which will break him." She said frowning.
" You care for him." He smiled looking at her who looked at him startled.
" No! It's just that I don't want his hard work to go waste." She said looking away.
" Why don't you agree to marry him?" He asked suddenly and she looked at him shocked.
" It was your parents wish.....infact their last wish to get both of you married and I want to fulfill their wish." He said and his eyes glistened with tears which made her blink back her tears.
" I am not in a position to think about marriage or any other person in my life. My only priority is Aman and will always be only him. As for Rishabh, he deserves much more better girl than me who is not broken and can make him happy......and that is definitely not me." She said softly.
He looked at her and sighed when he saw pain reflecting in her eyes.
" You may have some issues and to tell you the truth Rishabh has also some issues but that doesn't mean that you are not a better girl.....infact you are the best girl.....for him and anyone else too." He said smiling at her who looked at him with tears.
" You are brave Shaanvi, you are dealing with the situation far more better than I thought and I want you to start a new life which will make you smile and laugh again. I want you to be happy like all other girls and you deserve all the happiness like other girls are experiencing in your age." He said concerned.
" I don't deserve all that uncle.....if only I have got home that day by myself and wouldn't let them pick me......." She said bitterly making him stunned.
" I didn't know that you are still blaming yourself for what had happened. That was an unfortunate accident Shaanvi and there is no mistake of yours. Please stop blaming yourself for this.....you cannot move on if you keep blaming yourself like this." He said sadly and tears fell from her eyes freely.
" I am trying Uncle." She whispered.
" You should try hard not to blame yourself then only you can think about yourself and your happiness and I really think your marriage with Rishabh will help you to become the girl that you were before." He said looking at her and she stared ahead blankly.
He sighed and made her look at him.
" I will not force you into this but try to think about it." He said kissing her forehead and she nodded smiling at him.
Rishabh watched their interaction from afar with a frown on his face. He couldn't hear them but he definitely saw a bond between them.....to be precise an emotional bond. He wanted to know how they both know each other and why is his father was emotionally attached to an employee.

" Excuse me Sir, you need to sign on these documents." Aadhya forwarded him some documents.
He was about to sign but she stopped him.
" Sir, first read before you sign them!" She exclaimed at him.
" Did you read them?" He asked.
" Yes Sir." She replied.
" Anything wrong?" He asked.
" No Sir." She replied.
He nodded and signed the documents.
" Sir, I have postponed the meeting with the Mehra's for next week as meetings for this week were already scheduled." She said to him looking at her notes.
She continued saying his schedule for this week and he listened everything looking at her.
" Aadhya, you need to book a five star hotel for next week." He said suddenly.
" Hotel?" She looked at him clueless.
" Yes, it's my parents anniversary and I want to throw a party for them." He said and she nodded noting down.
" Any specific ideas Sir?" She asked him.
" It should be classy as many top businessmen will be there and also nothing should go wrong. Food, decorations, music, theme, invitations.........everything should be perfect and I want you to look into every single detail." He said and she noted the things nodding her head.
" And most important thing.....it should be a surprise. You seem close to my father and I don't want you to tell him even by mistake also." He said.
She looked at him when he mentioned her being close to his father.
How does he know?
"Anything else Sir?" She asked ignoring his earlier statement.
" I will tell if I remember anything and you can start the preparations from now only." He said and she nodded her head.
She went back to her desk and started looking at various hotels for the party.
For the next few days, she was busy making arrangements for the party and it's very hard when you had to do it all alone. Rishabh doesn't trust anyone else and so told her to manage everything.
She booked the hotel, selected some themes, took samples of decorations, made a list of guests and food items list that should be there at the party. All she had to do now is to show Rishabh and ask his opinions.
" Sir, please check all this and finalise so that we can order them." Aadhya said giving him some folders.
Rishabh looked at everything and was quite impressed with her choice and taste. He selected themes, invitation design and decorations.
" Sir this is the list of guests I prepared, you please finalise them." She said handing over a list.
" I will check it at home and finalise it tomorrow." He said tiredly.
" Sir, food items?" She asked.
He explained to her briefly about what items should be present and told her that drinks are compulsory. She nodded while noting down quickly everything.
She looked at him who was looking very tired but yet still sat to work.
" Sir, you look very tired. Why don't you go home and take some rest?" She asked him.
" It's still just 5 pm and this work should be finished in two days and that is before the party itself." He said and went back to his work making her sigh.
She talked with some people and made orders for the selected items. She attended some calls and arranged all the folders in her draw. She locked it and stood up to leave.
Rishabh saw her standing up taking her bag and leaving. He looked at the time and saw it's already 5:30 pm. He smiled at the thought that she never misses a minute after her time is over.
While he was doing his work, he heard his door opened and closed. He frowned and looked who was it as he didn't hear anyone asking for permission. He looked at the person and he was stunned. He could just stare at Aadhya who kept coffee on the table.
" I thought you left." He said staring at her.
" I did but I remembered that you were looking so tired, so I came back and brought you coffee which will help to refresh you." She said.
His heart swelled with an unknown emotion as no one had ever cared for him so much and just stared at her.
" I am leaving Sir." She said and left.
She came back to give him coffee.
The girl who doesn't even stay a second after 5:30 has come back just to give him coffee.
And that made him very much happy.
