KATHERINE LINETTI OFFICIALLY HAS A girlfriend. Except from Tisha, no one knows, and for as long as she possibly could, Kat would like to keep it that way. Sure, she loves her friends; they're her family. However, she has good reason to want to keep her relationship a secret for the time being. Charles would never let her hear the end of it, Jake would make it his personal plan to break them up because he knows she's in love with Rosa (Gina would probably do the same), Hitchcock would try to sleep with both women, and Terry would end up firing them all because they couldn't keep the workplace a professional environment.
Kat likes her secrets. Three weeks was going strong. But then Thursday rolls around.ย
The dark-haired woman walks out of the elevator with a laptop in hand, her eyes flicking across the bullpen as she tries to find her girlfriend. "Hi! Sorry, excuse me." Rosa looks up from her paperwork. "Sorry, do you know where I could find Kat?"
Rosa's eyes narrow as she crosses her arms. Her lips press into a thin line as she studies the woman for a moment. "Who wants to know?"
Daisy's brows furrow ever so slightly at her short tone. "Oh, I'm her girlfriend," she answers with a smile. Rosa's face falls, however, she clears her throat and regains her composure almost immediately. "I'm Daisy. You must be Rosa; she talks a lot about you all."
"It's Detective Diaz," Rosa snaps, ignoring Daisy's outstretched hand for her to shake. "She's in the break room getting coffee."
"Thanks, uh, it was nice to meet you."
As the brunette walks off to where she had pointed, Rosa leans back in her chair and huffs a sigh. She rolls her eyes when she spots Gina quickly approaching her. "Not in the mood," she says quickly.ย
Gina completely ignores her words and takes the seat beside her desk. "So, you met her," she says with a knowing smile. "And you hate her."
Rosa scoffs as she looks back over to Gina. "I don't hate her," she retorts. "She's... okay."
"No, you hate her. Come on, you're jealous." Gina grins at the frustration that flashes across Rosa's face. "See," she sings with an I told you so voice.
Rosa narrows her eyes and returns to her computer. "No idea what you're talking about," she states calmly. "Now fuck off." Gina snickers and walks backward to her desk, waggling her brows whenever Rosa glares over at her.
Kat looks up from the coffee pot once she catches a new presence enter the break room. Her eyes widen in surprise. "Daise," she smiles. She briefly glances out to the bullpen. "What are you doing here?"
Daisy quickly kisses her cheek and holds out the laptop. "You left this at my place, and you weren't answering your phone, so..."
Katherine pulls out her phone and sighs at the multiple missed calls. "Sorry, I got distracted with Terry." She softly smiles at the woman standing before her. "You really didn't have to come all the way here."
"Sure I did," Daisy replies with a grin. "Plus, it's really just a win for me 'cause I get to see you again."
Kat's teeth sink into her lower lip as she places her hands on her girlfriend's hips and draws her closer. "I'll just have to make use of this opportunity," she mutters. "Inappropriate work kiss time." She leans closer and Daisy smiles as their lips join.
Gina scrunches up a piece of paper into a ball and chucks it over at Rosa's head when she realises the detective is staring into the break room.
"Okay, babe, I gotta go," Daisy says. She presses a kiss onto Kat's nose. "See you tomorrow?"
Kat smiles as they walk out into the bullpen. "Yeah, see you tomorrow." She gently squeezes Daisy's hand before the brunette heads over to the elevators. But when she turns around, her eyes narrow and her features harden. "What the hell are you all looking at?"
The detectives' eyes widen at her question. "Nothing," Amy calls out. When Gina throws another paper ball at Rosa, she shrieks with a laugh when Rosa then throws one back at her.
A smirk appears on Charles's face as he folds his arms. "Was that your girlfriend?" He clears his throat when Kat's glare shifts to him. "Sorry, yeah, sorry, I know."
"If any one of you say a single word about that, I will fire you," Katherine Linetti threatens.
"You gotta stop saying that," Gina says in amusement. "The more you say it, the less scary it is."
"I have to agree," Holt chimes in.
Kat rolls her eyes. "Fine, I'm done," she grumbles.
"Woah, Captain." Jake's eyebrows furrow as he walks onto the floor and finds Holt sitting at his desk. "Why are you sitting at my desk?"
The captain gestures to his office, the door open to reveal a man in a suit inside. "Lieutenant Miller from Internal Affairs is here," he informs. "He's taken over my office. Apparently, someone has been leaking classified information to a criminal syndicate. The entire squad is under investigation."
"That's crazy," Jake retorts, his words tinged with incredulity. "No one here's a mole." Kat rolls her eyes at his confident statement.
"How can you be so sure?" Holt questions him.ย
"Because I know these guys. I know everything about them."
Raymond's eyes squint slightly. "Well, you're a poor police officer if you don't think people can surprise you."
"Here, watch this. I know what everyone's gonna do tonight. It's Thursday, so Gina's gonna leave early to rehearse with her new dance group, Dancy Reagan. They're the first ladies of movement. Amy's gonna be going over her weekly budget. Charles will be attending a 'pizza for one' cooking class."
Boyle looks over to them and nods. "Tonight's menu: Pepper-Alone-I," he confirms.
Jake grins. "Kat's got a secret girlfriend that everyone now knows about."
Her eyes widen in disbelief. "Wait, what the hell?" she exclaims. "How did you figure that out?"
"I'm a genius," he scoffs. Jake rolls his eyes when everyone turns to stare at him. "Fine, I passed her in the lobby and she asked me where you were. And finally, if I run and leap at Terry, he will most certainly catch me in his arms. Coming in!"
Holt's eyes widen as Jake suddenly sprints toward Terry holding a mug of coffee. "No," the sergeant yells in panic. "I'm holding coffee!" But just as expected, the cup shatters on the ground as Terry catches Jake just in time.

Madeline Wuntch strolls across the bullpen with her usual smirk plastered on her face. "Hello, Raymond," she announces.
Kat rolls her eyes at the mere sound of the woman's voice and moves to stand beside Holt's side โ for moral support and because she wants to be front row to witnesses whatever is about to be said. "Madeline," Holt greets dryly. "I wondered why all the birds had suddenly stopped singing."
"What are you doing here, Deputy Chief Wuntch?" Kat asks impatiently. She hates that she has to use the woman's proper title because she has no doubt she would be fired otherwise.ย
"I heard you were under investigation by Internal Affairs," Madeline answers smugly. "Didn't wanna miss that."
Holt shakes his head. "So much time with your ear to the pavement. It's a pity a truck hasn't run over your head."
"Very visual. When, oh when, will you quit police work and pursue your dream of poetry?"
"When you're buried six feet underground," Katherine deadpans. Wuntch shifts her narrowed eyes onto her, thoroughly unamused by her interjection. Holt, however, looks at her with pride.
"I'm looking for Detective Scully," Lieutenant Miller calls out.
"You must be from I.A.B," Madeline concludes. "I'm Deputy Chief Wuntch." She nods to the lieutenant in greeting. "Nice to meet you. If you have a minute, I'd love a detailed report of this investigation."
"I.A.B. exists outside of department hierarchy," Miller scoffs. "I don't answer to you. Detective Scully, you're up."
"Oh, uh, okay!" Scully drops his sandwich and stands up, causing them all to grimace at the sauce staining his hands, shirt, and face.
"No," Miller suddenly says. "You know what? We'll do this over the phone." Kat watches in amusement as the man spins on his heel and beelines back to Holt's office.
"Oh, Raymond," Madeline begins sarcastically. "An Internal Affairs investigation?" Both Holt and Kat share a look as she walks closer to them. "A drug task force that hasn't found any drugs? This precinct's a disaster. Maybe that's why the birds stopped singing. Out of respect for the death of your career."
Kat rolls her eyes. "The birds stopped singing the second you walked outside this morning," she claps back.
Holt glances to her with pride etched onto his face. Then he turns back to Wuntch whose jaw has clenched in irritation. "Get your sergeant in line," she snaps.
"Oh, she's perfectly in line," Raymond responds calmly. "Goodbye, Madeline."
As the blonde-haired woman storms off, Kat sighs in relief. "Thank God, it was suffocating just being in the same room as her."
"Until she's more than one block away from this precinct, I will still feel suffocated," Holt says. "Now, we need to discuss the task force." They find Rosa in the briefing room with Terry, who is on his phone. "Detective Diaz." She looks up from the pile of paperwork spread across the desks. "Can you give me even a shred of good news about your drug task force?"
"The good news is I can be brief about it," Rosa replies. "We have nothing."
Kat hums. "Well, that was brief." Holt sighs.
"Sorry," Terry tells them as he hangs up the call. "I had to talk to my twins into getting their hair done. There are some promises involving lollipops I do not intend to keep."
"The task force has made some busts," Rosa explains to the captain. "But we still haven't found any high-level dealers or major drug stashes."
"But we will soon," Terry adds optimistically.
"Is that a promise? Or just another lollipop that no one's ever gonna lick?" Holt's eyes flick between the three before him. "Wuntch is waiting for this task force to fail. I need tangible results."
Katherine nods. "Well, we're all going undercover at Electric Library tonight," she says. "It's a silent disco, everyone wears headphones."
"It's actually very respectful to the neighbours except for the lewd acts and vomiting," Rosa adds.
"There's usually some ecstasy at these things," Terry says. "So hopefully we'll find some Giggle Pig."
Holt nods, satisfied by the plans. "Great. I hope there's a lot of drug activity there." Rosa, Kat, and Terry share a look. "Of course, ideally, there will be nobody taking drugs there or anywhere else in the district."
"It's okay, sir," Katherine tells him. "We all know you don't mean it."
"Good. If drugs must be found, let it be there. Please, God, let it be there."

Kat hasn't been to a rave in years. She never really understood the appeal for them. Who enjoyed being stuffed in a room with hordes of people? As she's stood beside Rosa, she realises that she's living her worst nightmare. With Terry behind the bar serving drinks, Kat and Rosa had developed the covers to stay in the crowd to try and find people that might be buying or dealing. Hopefully both.
Both women look starkly different to how they usually would. Rosa has pink extensions threaded through her hair and is wearing glasses and a yellow hoodie, and Kat is dressed in a neon blue tank top with fake tattoos covering her arms, and strands of her hair are sprayed dark red. Despite looking almost unrecognisable to each other, they blend in with the crowd, and that's all they're trying to do.
"Terry," Kat yells. They head over to the bar and try to catch his attention. "Terry!"
The sergeant quickly takes off his headphones. "Can't believe they call this a 'silent disco,'" he remarks in disbelief. "This is not a disco! And I should know, I was raised on disco. Little Terry loved The Hustle." Rosa and Kat both laugh as he starts to dance.
"Excuse me, can I get a bottle of water?"
Kat glances to the young woman who has stopped beside her, and she instinctively starts to look for signs that she might be high. "Good move," Terry says. "Giggle dehydrates the hell out of you."
The curly-haired girl glances behind her briefly. "Yeah, I don't do that stuff. I don't even drink."
"Good for you," Kat nods. She receives a smile.
"Hey, your shirt," Terry points out in surprise. "My daughters go to the Learning Grove. Did you get that from a vintage store or something?"
"No, I went there. I was in the Dolphins class."
Terry smiles. "And you don't do drugs or drink," he reiterates. He hands her a bottle of water. "Have a water on the house." The girl raises it to him gratefully.
Rosa sighs once they're left alone. "Well, she was useless," she concludes.
"Not entirely," Terry grins. "I learned that my babies are on the right track because their pre-school turns out nice kids."
"I don't know," Kat says with a frown. She leans back against the bar as she watches the girl disappear back into the crowd. "Something was off about her."
Terry rolls his eyes at her doubtfulness. "Oh, come on, Linetti," he argues. "Just be happy for my kids!"
Rosa's eyebrows draw together as she turns to Kat, immediately believing her suspicions. "What'd you think was off?" she asks.
"What teenager wears a shirt from their pre-school to a rave?" Kat retorts with a pointed look to Terry. "Come on, Jeffords. You just can't see through her good-girl act 'cause you're too worried about your kids."
"Okay, get back out there and disco," he orders them, a scowl etched onto his face. "And look for some bad kids who went to sub-par pre-schools."
An agonising half an hour passes with zero indication that any drugs are being used. Kat wants to throw herself off a cliff. As she looks to Rosa, she realises that the woman is getting just as frustrated as she is. They need to find something tonight, not only because they'll be on the receiving end of Holt's anger but because they'll be letting him down.ย
"This is horrible," Kat mutters to her. She rolls her eyes at Rosa's amused expression. "I'm serious! This is horrible." Then she realises that the grey beanie adorning Rosa's head has slipped back. "Oh, hang on a second..."
Rosa's eyes flick across her face as Kat steps closer to her to adjust the beanie. "Thanks," she says. The blonde smiles. "I'm happy for you, by the way. Daisy seems nice."
Kat's eyes widen in surprise at the sudden change of topic. "Oh! Thanks." She steps back to give them as much space as they can get in the crowded area. "Honestly, I'm kind of glad it's all out in the open now."
Rosa clears her throat. "Yeah, I'm sure."
"You'll find someone, too," she says reassuringly. "There's someone out there for you that's just as violent and threatening as you are." They share a smile, but as Kat looks away, Rosa's falters.
The pair return to the bar to check in with Terry who has had the same amount of luck as they have. Zero. "I took all the Giggle I had," a man tells them with a shrug. His eyes lock onto Kat. "There might be some left in my mouth if you wanna make out."
She places a hand on Rosa's arm when the detective moves to step in front of her. "That sounds amazing," she confirms with a smile. "I'd love to make out with you once I'm super high." Terry and Rosa throw her sympathetic looks, knowing she feels nauseous even thinking about flirting with a man. And even though it's for a bigger purpose, Kat still wants to throw up. "Where can I get some?"
He points into the crowd. "That girl over there sold it to me."
Katherine's eye twitches as her gaze lands on the girl who had bought the water from earlier. "I knew it," she hisses. "Suck it, Terry!"

Interrogating Ava Watson had led them nowhere. The Giggle Pig task force is in the same position as they had been in yesterday. Square one. Even though the task force is the prominent thought on her mind, Kat is thoroughly confused about what is going on with her sister. In the last hour, she had seen Gina and Amy have more conversations than she had seen them have in the last five years. She knows that Gina is hiding something, she had known that for months. But despite only knowing that it was about someone she had slept with, Kat had discovered nothing further.
For years, she had known that her sister was good at keeping secrets, but she didn't know she was this good. Gina Linetti wouldn't utter a single word to her about her problems. That concerned Kat greatly.
The precinct had been rather quiet for the last hour, only because Jake Peralta wasn't here. He had rambled to Kat that he had figured out who the mole was, then had dragged Holt along with him to expose Lieutenant Miller and Madeline Wuntch. To keep themselves busy and to try and avoid telling Holt that they haven't gained anything, Rosa and Katherine have been going over paperwork and files all morning with the hopes that something would get them a little closer to finding any Giggle Pig. No surprise: there was zilch.ย
At twelve-thirty, Terry walks into the briefing room with a manilla file in hand. "I'm sorry about last night," he tells them. "I let me personal stuff affect the job."
"It's okay," Kat reassures him with a small smile. "It happens."
"No, it's not," he argues. "This morning, I did some real police work. I called the Learning Grove. They never had an 'Ava Watson,' so I faxed them a picture. They identified her as Rebecca Lubbock. I pulled her phone records and..." With hope glimmering in her eyes, Rosa eagerly takes the file from him. "I think we have some good leads on a possible supplier."
"Yes, Sarge!" Kat cheers.
Rosa skims across the documents and smiles. "Wow, nice work. And hey, you should never worry about your kids. You're the best dad I know."
When Terry's eyes land on her nervously, Kat nods in agreement. "You are," she confirms. "Cagney and Lacey are gonna grow up great."
"You think so?"
"One-hundred percent."
"You're right," Terry nods. "They're gonna be twin presidents. They'll either run as one person and trick everyone, or they'll run as two and serve for sixteen consecutive years." Kat laughs. "It's a damned dynasty."ย
"Excuse me! I have an announcement to make! Can I have everyone's attention, please." At Gina's loud voice, the three inside the briefing room share a look and head out to see what the fuss is. The older Linetti is stood up on a chair as she overlooks the bullpen. "Charles Boyle and I had sex."
Kat's eyes widen comically. "Holy shit," she whispers in shock. "I did not see that coming."
"What the hell?" Terry exclaims.
Charles gulps anxiously and walks over to her. "Gina, what are you doing?"
"Amy was right," Gina tells him quietly. "People will be shocked, and then they'll get over it and we can move on." So that's what they had been talking about. "At least this way, I get to control how it gets out. I'm about to Olivia Pope this sitch."
"Wait, Charles is who you slept with?" Kat questions in disbelief. "This is the horrible sexual blunder?" Gina hums. "What the hell!"
"First off, I would like to remind you all about several notable men from my past. The rock-climbing backpacker, the underwear model, the guy who looked like Tywin Lannister. I bring these men to mind so you can appreciate this dalliance for what it was, an outlier. I will now take questions."
Hitchcock raises his hand. "How was the sex?" Kat grimaces.
"Gross."
"The sex was gross or I'm gross?"
"You're gross. The sex was adequate."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Gina hesitates as she looks to her sister. "Honestly, I thought you would judge me," she answers. She sighs at Kat's pointed look. "But obviously you wouldn't 'cause you're an amazing person. You'll be the first one I go to next time something like this happens."
Kat folds her arms and smiles happily. "You're forgiven," she nods. Gina grins at her.ย
"How many times did you do it?" Rosa calls out.ย
"Sixteen and a third. Don't ask, can't explain."
"I have a question," Charles declares. He inhales a deep breath. "Do you have any regrets?"
Gina squints her eyes ever so slightly. "No. It was pretty fun." Charles tries to play it off cool, but as he turns around, he pumps his fist. "Thank you so much for coming out today."
"Is that what you said to Kat fifteen years ago?" Jake calls out with a grin.
"This might surprise you, Jake, but I'm not all fun and games."
Kat rolls her eyes at her sister's reply. "Yes," she tells him. "It was. That's exactly what she said."
