68 - I'm Thinking Of You All The While
The wedding had descended into chaos. The once beuatiful venue was destroyed, and all the guest laid on the ground, either or dead or heavily injured. Screams for helped and loved ones were all that could be heard, and pain ridden coming from anyone still breathing. Damon looked around from where he landed, his eyes landing on Elena laid on the floor, completely unconcious.
"Elena? When she gave no kind of respons, he shuffled to her side and bit into his wrist, lifting her head as he tried to get her to drink. "Come one. Hey, wake up. ELena?" But the blood simply dribbled down her chin, unable to drink it in her current state.
At the other end of the alter, Alaric held Jo in his arms, her eyes closed and blood continuing to pool on the front of her dress. She was completely white and pale, the blood soaking onto Alaric's hands and clothes. His face held a look of pure devastation, the only sound able to leave his lips being loud sobs.
"Oh god. Someone, please help!" He called out distraught, managing to muffle his sobs for a second.
Joshus Parker struggled to his feet, using a chair to brace himself, a look of pure fury written across his face as he took int he scene around him. "Kai!" He called out for his son.
Despite all going on around, Damon kept his focus on Elena, who was still unable to drink the blood being given to her. "Come on, just drink." He muttered desperately, before looking around the destroyed area for help. "Stefan? STEFAN? AMELIA?"
Hearing his shouts, Amelia pushed herself to her feet and stumbled toward them, brushing the broken pieces of glass of herself. Tripping a broken chair, she fell into Stefan's arms, who quickly helped her find her balance. She, Stefan and Caroline then laid eyes on on Damon, and eyes filled with worry as they saw Elena. Amelia had never cared for the Gilbert girl before, but recently things had appeared to settle between them.
"She won't wake up." The eldest Salvatore told them, his eyes filling with slight relief as he laid eyes on Amelia.
Caroline looked devasted, as she laid eyes ont he girl she'd know the majority of her life. "Oh my God." She uttered, covering her mouth with her hand.
"She won't wake up. I don't understand." Damon carried on, confusion filling his eyes and voice.
"Get her to the hospital." Stefan ordered calmly. "Now!"
Damon slowly nodded in realization, carefully scopping the girl up into his arms. "Yeah." He agreed, before speeding away.
The second they were gone, Caroline turned to Stefan and Amelia slowly, fear clouding her eyes. "She's human." She reminded in worry. "What if she doesn't-" But her words were cut short, as all three of their necks snapped, sending them to the floor temporarily dead.
Kai came into sight as they fell to the ground, looking down at them. "Nothing personal, but this is a family matter now." He told them, stepping over the three.

Amelia blinked her eyes open with a small groan, moving her hand to her aching neck. She slowly adjusted her eyes, to see she was no longer at the wedding. Slowly sitting up, she saw that she in a car, Enzo driving next her. Turning aorund, she saw Stefan and Caroline still unconcious, laid together across the back seats.
She looked back to Enzo again, who glanced at her from the corner of his eye. "What the hell is going on?"
He opened his motuh to speak, but stopped as he glanced through the mirror, to see Caroline bolting upright in the back. "Good, you're both up. Sorry to be indecorous, but you were all all solidly unconcious when I pulled you from the wedding mayhem." He told the two girls.
"I don't know if to thank you or not." The Evans girl said, her eyes narrowed on him
"Where are we going?" The blonde demanded, ignoring as Stefan slowly began to wake next her, looking just as confused as they did. "Elena!" She then exclaimed, as she remembered the state her friend was in.
"Damon." Amelia blurted out, her eyes widening. "Kai's out. I need to go find him and Bonnie."
"Elena is in the hospital with Damon." Enzo told them, trying to calm them down. "Kai is dead, and all the Gemini's are going down with him. I grabbed the three of you top help me deal with a bigger problem."
"I'm sorry, how is there a bigger problem?" Amelia asked in confusion, as he words slowly sank in. "Did you not just hear everything you just told us?"
It wasn't until they arrived at a warehouse, that both Amelia and Stefan realized what the bigger problem was. They got out of the car to see both Lily and Candice, searching each of the different storage containers one by one, calling out different names in hopes of getting an answer.
"Valerie? Malcom?" Lily called hopefully, only shutting the container when she got no answer.
Stefan slowly walked up behind her, Amelia following as Candice joined Lily's side. "Get in the car, please." He told them, letting out a sigh of annoyance.
"1702 Route 12." The Salvatore woman began to ramble. "That's... that's where we are, right? I mean I read the map very carefully. He...He said they would be here. They're probably scared out of their minds."
The eldest Evans siter and Stefan shared a look, as he looked at his Mother in frustration. "What are you talking about?"
"Our friends." Lily says, walking inside yet another unit and looking around. "Kai brought them back when he escaped that prison. They're here, somewhere."
"Candice..." Amelia began, looking at her sister sadly as she searched, as she could see the hope that was in her eyes. "They aren't here, okay. You need to stop."
But, the younger girl ingored her. "Stop it. They are here. They have to be."
"He lied to you." Stefan sighed, saying what Amelia couldn't bring herself to tell them. "There's nobody here. You made a deal with a sociopath, and now a lot of people are dead. You're wasting your time."
Lily simply stared at the two, before shaking her head and walking away. Candice scoffed at the pair, shaking her head in utter disbelief. "You know, I expected this from her." She began, jabbing a finger in Amelia's direction. "But no from you, Stefan." And with those words lingering the air, she followed after Lily, leaving Amelia blinking back tears as she watched her go.
"Stefan..." He turned to look at Amelia, who was slowly backing away. "Can.. Can you deal with this?" She asked shakily, wiping her eyes with the back of her hands. "She doesn't trust me. Neither of them do. I-I'll head back, see what I can do to help, check on Bonnie and Damon. But I can't do this."
"Amelia..." But the girl shook her head, ignoring Caroline as she slowly approached from behind.
"Please." She pleaded, looking at Stefan emotionally.
Slowly he nodded. "Okay, go." He told her, giving her a small smiel she couldn't return. "Go. I'll call you when we're on our way back." Nodding gratefully, the Amelia sped away, leaving Stefan and Caroline staring at the space she once stood in.

Amelia Evans was angry. No, she was furious. Jo was dead, Elena wasn't waking up due to some spell, and all the Gemini's were dead. And now, apparently thanks to a genrous blood donation from Lily, Kai was a vampire. She walked into the barn on high alert, after hearing word that Tyler had triggered his curse.
"KAI!" She yelled, looking around. "Come on, Kai! Show yourself!"
She was meant to wait for Bonnie and Damon, but she didn't. The events where all piling up on top of her, and she was ready to kill someone. And her victim was going to be the one that had caused all of the nights chaos and destruction.
The sound of footsteps approached, and she looked to see the siphon stood on the alter, a smug grin on his face. She scanned him up and down, her face growing smug as she spotted the bite on his neck, that was slowly groweing worse instead of healing.
"Well, would you look at that." She said, smirking at him. "I never thought I'd be grateful fro Tyler biting someone, yet, here we are." She started to laugh, ignoring the glares he was giving her. "You know, I happen to be the one person who could get you the cure for that with no issues at all."
"But you won't." He realized quickly. "Shocker."
"You're right, I won't." She nodded, glasss crunching beneath her feet as she walked a few steps closer. "Instead, I'm going to speed the process along and kill you myself, like I should of done months ago."
"I gotta say, you and your mood swings are definately something that I didn't miss in 1903." He began to laugh, slowly stopping and looking around. "I'll deal with you in a second." He then added, and his eyes scanned the bodies of guests on the ground. "Anyone still alive? Anyone alive just raise your hand. I need blood."
"You need more then blood." A familiar voice called, making Amelia turn to see Bonnie approaching from behind. "Maybe some ointment? 'Cause gross." She points to her own neck, indicating Kai's werewolf bite.
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha." The new heretic laughed sarcastically. "Do your friends think you're funny?" He asks as he strolled closer to them. "Because maybe if you were funny-- if you were the one with the good jokes, who they can always count on to make them laugh-- maybe they'd be cool with letting you live instead of Elena."
Bonnie doesn't seem fazed at his bating, as she simply shrugs at his words. "So, the sick humor's your thing, I'm just the one that does magic." She then raises her hand, which causing the same high-pitched noise Kai had subdudded them all with, making him start clutching his head in pain.
"Oh, isn't karma a bitch." Amelia mused, smirking at his pain. "Not such a fun spell now, is it?"
"Undo the spell, Kai." The Bennett witch demanded, no amusement on her face.
Kai just begins to laugh through the pain. "I can't. What's done is done."
Bonnie thrusts out her hand, increasing the power of the spell in anger. "Ossox!" Kai's leg snaps, and he doubles over. "Again!" She yelled, this time breaking another one of Kai's bones, and he falls to the floor.
"UIndo the spell, Kai." Amelia snarls at him in warning. "This is kindess if you don't. Next I'll try and beat it out of you."
Even through all of the pain, Kai just lays on the floor laughing manically. "I can't undo the spell, Bonnie. My death made it permanent."
Amelia could see Bonnie was fighting not to let her devastation show. "Fine." She shrugs once more, crossing her arms over her chest. "I'll just wait for the werewolf bite to kill you."
"You know what's funny?" He asks weakly, as he pushes himself to sit on the ground, both girls seeming to ignore him. "I didn't even know werewolves were real until I got bit by one." He said, making the wheels begin to turn inside his head, as solution came to mind that made him smile.
Bonnie breaks a leg off a turned over chair, turning it into a makeshift stake, while Amelia eyed the siphon carefully. She watches with wide aeyes as he holds his hand over his wound, and begins to siphon from it, causing it to slowly heal as he absorbed it. " Bonnie." She said worriedly, as he pushes himself to his feet.
"The thing is, Bon-- the only way a guy turns into a wolf is if it's magic, right? So technically, their venom's magic, too. So I just went ahead and siphoned it up." He tells her, stopping her before she could even get close with the stake.
He uses his magic to pull Bonnie off the ground, where she hangs in the air for a moment. Amelia rushed at him but he flicked his other wrist, sending her flying back into a pile of broken chairs.
"Motus!" He chants, thrusting his hand forward and sending Bonnie flying back into a wall, leaving to land in a heap on the floor. With a proud, smug smile plastered across his face, he walked through the wreckage and grabbed Amelia by the wrist, and yanked her to her feet. "Now, let's deal with you, shall we?"
He closed his eyes and began to chant quietly, ignoring as she began to hiss in pain, no idea what hwas happening as his hand on her began to glow red. Before she could do anything, the world around her faded to black, and she fell to ground in a heap.

Damon walks into the barn, and looks around until his eyes landed on Bonnie on the ground. He quickly got his knees on the ground at her side, to see she's gasping for breath, barely able to breath without pain flooding her. Sat on the alter step, Kai watched smugly, with Amelia's unconscious body laid at his feet.
"Bonnie." The Salvatore said, carefully lifting her head.
"Damon." The injured witch croaked out, relief finding it's way into her tone.
"Hey." He smiles softly at her, stroking her hair out of her face.
Kai blinked at him incredulously. "How dumb are you?" He states, attracting an annoyed glare from the Salvatore. "I deliver you a dying Bonnie Bennett on a silver platter and *woosh*-- right over your head."
"Damon" Bonnie gasped out weakly, growing panicked.
"You're okay." He soothes, trying his best to comfort her.
"Uh, translation-- she's about to croak." Kai piped up in snarky tone, earning yet another glare in his direction, as he walks toward them. "Of course, you don't have to help her. You could just walk away. She dies of collapsed lung, no blood on your hands, and Elena get to live the life she always dreamed of." Damon considers this for a moment, looking conflicted, the exact reaction the Parker was hoping for. "Either way, you better act quick."
"I'm so sorry, Bonnie." Damon whispers to her apologetically.
Bonnie looks confused and horrified as he leans forward and kisses her forehead. He lets go of her hand and she rolls to the other side, looking utterly betrayed and devastated.
Kai watched unimpressed as he walks out, leaving him gawking in exasperation. "That's it? He just left you?" He asks in disbelief, standing in front of Bonnie, who was barely holding on. "The whole point was that this would torture him for a while. I mean, you'd think he'd at least flip a coin-- heads he picks you, tails he picks--"
Suddenly, his words were cut off as Damon appeared behind, slicing his head off his shoulders with his hands. "Heads it is!" He says as Kai's headless, lifeless body dropped to the ground.
Hearing Bonnie's breathing begin to rattlee unsteadily, he rushed to her sidee and bite into his wrist, carefully lifting her head up once again. "You think I was gonna leave you all alone, huh?" He asks in a small, teasing voice, as he feeds her his blood. "No way. I'm not out of nicknames for you yet."
Bonnie shot up with a small gasp as she healed, barely giving him chance to check her over, as she pointed urgently in direction of the alter. "Amelia. He did something to Amelia."
Within seconds, the Salvatore's blue eys landed on the girl he loved, laid still on the ground. Rushing over, he was at her side in seconds, puilling the girl into his arms. "Amelia? Amelia, hey. Wake up." He said, shaking her desperately. "Come on, Amy. Wake up." He pleaded emotionally, biting into his wrist and feeding her his blood, in hopes it would speed up her healing. "Come on, Amelia. Open your beautiful eyes."
Slowly but surely, the girl blinked open her eyes, coughing and spluttering at the metalic taste his blood left in her mouth. "Damon?" She aasked weakly. "What happened?"
He simply let out a breath of relief. "Nothing. You're okay." He told her, pressing a kiss on her lips. He then stood and lifted her bridal style, looking over at Bonnie who was slowly getting to her feet. "Can you walk?"
"Yeah." She nodded slowly, finding her balance. "Let's get out of here."
Walking out at normal pace, Bonnie followed behind him, leaving behind the scene of devastation behind them.

The next day, everyone gathered in the parelor in the boarding house, sitting around in a numb silence. All of them were grieving the loss of Jo, and now, they had to say goodbye to Elena. It wasn't forever, as when Bonnie died, Elena would awake. Sixty to seventy years was nothing for the vampires of the group, but for those that were human, today was their final chance to speak to the Gilbert girl.
They all sat waiting patiently, as they went up one by one, and took her hand to enter her thoughts. When her time came, Amelia walked toward the coffin that Elena laid in, and took her hand with a small sigh. Closing her eyes, she let the girl into her thoughts.
When she opened her eyes again, she looked around in surprise as she found herself stood in the old Gilbert household, in the living Elena had once turned her humanity off in. "Feeling nostalgic, are we?" She asked, glancing over her shoulder.
Elena smiled softly at her, as walked up to her. "We don't really have that many good memories together." She reminded, to which the Evans girls couldn't deny. "But, when Jeremy died and I went off the rails, I remember for a small amount of time you didn't hate me."
"I felt bad for you." She told her, turning to face her. "To me, you without emotions was pretty tolerable."
"We've had our ups and downs, Amelia." Elena began, taking a seat on the old couch near them. Amelia perched on the arm of it as she listened. "A lot of downs, but lately, we've managed to get along. I caused so many problems with you involving Damon... I was being selfish and stupid. And I hope you can forgive me for that."
It wasn't hard to tell the girls words were genuine. "I think I can." She told her with a small smile. "I'm sorry you've got to go through this, Elena."
"It's fine." The doppelganger assured her, wiping her eyes with the back of her hands. "Bonnie is going to get to live, and after she has had a full life, I can have mine." She sniffled a little, looking Amelia in the eye. "Delilah and Divya, could you-"
"I'll make sure we take care of it." Amelia promised her. "I'll see you again, Elena." She smiled as she slowly rose to her feet. "Maybe when you wake up, we can work on this whole friendship thing." SHe offered.
Elena let out a small, happy laugh, nodding. "I'd like that." She told her. "Be happy, Amelia."
With those words, the Gilbert household disappeared around her, and Amelia opened her eyes inside the boarding house. Turning she went to walk toward Damon, who leaned in the doorway watching careful, with she let a hiss of pain. Both Salvatore's eyes widened in alarm, as within second Amelia had fell to her knees on the ground, pain filled tears streaming down her face.
"Damon." She whimpered, rolling up her sleeve to see where the pain was coming from. When she saw it, it clicked in her mind what exactly Kai had did to her the night before. "No, no, no, no." SHe shook her head violently in denial.
On her arm, sat a werewolf bite, one that looked hours old.
"No." Damon whispered, as he got his knees beside her, exchanging looks with his brother.
Kai Parker had done one final act none of them had realized before he died.
He'd signed Amelia Evans death certificate.
1 chapter and epilogue left. And there is still a lot more to come, And I mean a lot. I hope you all enjoyed!
