Taylors POV

His face kept coming into my mind. His lighthearted smile, his high chiseled cheekbones, his ocean green eyes. I gripped the wheel. No. I worked hard to get to my position. It took me years to forget about him. I can't give in so easily. I'm not that woman I once was. He hurt me once and I don't plan on letting him back into my life.

A distant horn grabbed my attention. I looked up and gasped, swerving into the lane beside me. Missing the car in front of me by mere heartbeats.

I still don't understand why he is here. Why has he come to LA? After seven years, I had to admit, he changed quite a bit. His face gained more handsome features and his shoulders are broader than they were at 19. But now, the thought of him as my new boss and manager, I have to think of a plan to keep out of sight, or at least keep my past identity hidden.

After I ran away from Greenwood, I made sure to change my identity completely. From family, from friends, even from Thomas. The man who will now take the position of my manager.

I ran my hand through my now blonde hair that I had dyed during my swift getaway. If anything, this new look will give him a hard time in guessing my past identity as Taylor.

I pulled into my small cozy house and turned off the ignition. My seven-year-old daughter ran outside with glee. A sad smile overtook my face. Thomas' little girl. I left without telling him that he had a daughter. I couldn't tell him. Of course, Paula, my seven-year-old, knew she had a father, but where he lived, she didn't know. My plan was to tell her more when she would grow older, but now, if Thomas puts the puzzle together, Paula might meet her father sooner than expected.

I got out of the car and was greeted by waves of dark brown hair that strongly resembled Thomas'.

"Mommy!" Her soft voice reached my ears.

"Sweetie!" I replied in the same tone, "How was school?"

We walked back towards the porch where Abby, the teenage babysitter, stood, a happy smile on her face.

"Mrs. Sims took us the library!" She said with excitement.

"The library?!" I faked enthusiasm.

"Uh huh, I got a book on dogs, I really want one mommy, can we get one? Please? I'll be good, I promise."

I chuckled at her childish nature, "Maybe we will, but you have to promise to be good till your birthday."

"I promise!" She jumped up, a smile etched on her face.

I walked over to Abby while Paula trailed along.

"How was she?" I asked.

"Like all kids," she smiled down at Paula, "we colored giraffes today, isn't that right Paula?" Paula nodded her head.

I pretended to look upset, "Hey! We were supposed to do that today."

Paula rubbed my leg, "It's okay mommy, we can color Sandy." I laughed, Paula always had a plan B for everything, just like Thomas once had or still does.

"Okay, honey, you go get the coloring book ready and I'll be right there." Paula nodded her head once more and disappeared into the house.

Turning my attention back to Abby, I smiled warmly, "Thank you again, I appreciate you doing this everyday."

"Its my pleasure Mrs. Greyson. Paula has taught me quite a few things as well."

"Oh?" I raised my eyebrow, "Like what? If you dont mind me asking."

Abby smiled, "To treasure people closest to you, so really, thank you for such an amazing daughter."

I laughed. Amazing? Sure, Paula's amazing, but I really didn't teach her how to care and love. Instead, I smiled back and took out 25 dollars and gave them to her. She took them and thanked me once more before leaving.

I sighed, it's been an awful long day. I really want to just lay down and go to sleep, but as a mother, you have to make a few sacrifices. Heading inside the house, I changed and joined my daughter at the table where she had neatly placed colored pencils along with two of her favorite coloring books.
