Nico's POV

While waiting for our orders, I
quickly turn sideways to look at Jax.
He has been my best friend for years now. Calling him handsome was an understatement of a lifetime. Sporting straight light brown hair that occasionally fell on his face, green eyes that would swoon you off your feet, he was the second most handsome guy I knew. Who is number one you may ask? Well I am ;)

His father was the previous Beta of our pack. His dad and mine passed down their titles to us when we turned 18. We have been running the pack ever since. We also had shared a lot of ups and downs after coming in power.

And since I know him so well, I also know a whole mountain of questions were coming my way,right about now.

"Yo, dude what was that all about? No offence man but you are acting more strange than usual. Maybe it's because of that waitress-".

" She's my mate", I simply said.

"What!?!! And you didn't think of telling me earlier. I already knew you were nuts but this is way out of line".
He practically exploded.
A couple a customers looked at us but soon looked away.

Great.

They must now see us as bunch of crazy people now.

I wonder why I even decided telling him so in such a public place now I won't hear the end of it.

Sigh. I mentally face palmed. Who made him Beta again?
Oh I did. My bad. What a great idea that was.

"Look man, I know I sometimes-"

"Sometimes?" I interrupt him.

"Ok, Ok. I meant a lot of times and to continue what you rudely interrupted", he hissed at me but there was a glint of amusement present in his eyes.

" I know I usually get out of hand but I'm truly happy you found your other half and our Luna. You deserve to be happy."

I just looked at him for a moment unsure.

"What aren't you happy that you finally found her?"

"I am. It's just that..."

"Just what? You know you can tell me anything right we have been friends like forever."

"It's just that what if we don't work out. You clearly saw she's human. She might not want me for who I am. Worst is she rejects me not wanting to spend the rest of her days with me. I can't bare losing her. She's my life."
I just kept rambling. I know I made mistakes in the past but now that I'd found her I'm fully ready to make amends.

He just broke out laughing hysterically. What's so funny?

"Woah, hold your horses. Everything is going to be Ok. You are the best guy I know out there.
You are literally the the so-called big bad Alpha of the Black Moon pack, one of the most powerful and fierce out there and you are scared of heart break. Things like these shouldn't dare bother you. The moon goddess wouldn't even have paired you guys if she don't see it fit. You gave me the strength to be who I am today. You showed me what it is to be a leader and I thank you for that. Besides, she won't be able to resist you after getting knowing you, I know I can't." He said smirking.

I always knew he was a perv.

I smacked his head and he pouted at me like a child. He's really getting on my nerves.

"What? I'm simply saying the truth. You are really irresistible. If you hadn't just found your mate I would have made you all mine."

Ok... He's just not a perv but also a lunatic. But I decided to play along with his little charade anyway.

"Well, I never knew you were that interested in me." I jokingly told him.

"Well kiddo you are in luck cause I am. I could just kidnap you and take to faraway from here and we could live the rest of our lives in a cabin in the woods and spend our nights--."

Weirdo. I have to put a stop to this before it gets out of hand real quick. So I cut his speech.

"I'll definitely make it an agenda of mine to tell your future mate about your unsuccessful expenditures."

"You wouldn't dare." His eyes widened like saucers with shock written all over his face. Now that's funny.

"Try me."

"You won't be able to do anything anyway."

"What do you even mean?"

I was about reprimanding once more when I got a sniff of my mate. I turned away from the sulking teenager-man beside me and saw her making our banter come to an end.
She still looks stunning, holding a tray of our orders while approaching our table.

"Remember what I told you, you are both meant to be."

I heard a familiar voice in my head saying, which I knew was Jax's.

I got this. I told myself.

Dropping the tray, she said, "Enjoy your meals. I'd be right over there."
She pointed over to the spot she was sitting on earlier when we'd arrived.

"Uhm... thanks sure would."

She gave a dashingly smile and just as she was about to go I went for it.

"Hey, I'm sorry for disturbing you but would you like to go on a date with me."

She just looked at me shocked before
"Excuse me?" She said with a slight frown on her perfect face. Her hair was getting in her face and all I wanted to do was to place them behind her ears. But I stopped myself, there were more important things things at hand.

"I asked if you would go out on a date with me."

"And why would I go out with you. I don't know you." She said raising a sceptical eyebrow at me whilst folding her arms.

Now was the time I started panicking.

"Emm..." I turned to the side ask Jax for help but he just ignored me munching on a donut.

That fool.

"Yes, you don't know me. But what I can promise you is I won't let you down if you just give me a chance. You'll also enjoy it."

After a few moments and what seemed to be her thinking over the situation

"Ok, I would love to go out on a date with you. "

Saying that, she tore a piece of paper from her notebook, wrote her my number and placed it on my open palm. I wonder if we actually touched she'll feel the sparks mates get.

"Pick me up Friday night by seven."

With that been said she turned and left our table to attend to an older couple that where sitting adjacent to us.

Phew, that was scary but a great a relief.

Now where could I take her for a date?
Hmmm... I thought whilst tapping my chin.
