All throughout the night Luna would wake up periodically in fits of tears, and every single time Baekhyun would rush to coddle her; mainly so she wouldn't wake his husband and son. Baekhyun was naturally tired the next morning, but he had maternity leave from work so it didn't bother him too much. And he also knew if he got tired later, Chanyeol would more than happily take care of Luna.
Most of the time she would sleep, only crying when she was hungry or in need of a diaper change. When she was asleep, Baekhyun occupied himself by playing with Taehyung, who had dragged out his Legos only to abandon them to watch TV and terrorize Honey. With nearly an hour left before Chanyeol returned home from work, Baekhyun managed to wrangle in Taehyung's attention with the fun task of making cookies.
It was a messy activity, what with Taehyung spilling the flour that then created a cloud, but ultimately they enjoyed themselves immensely. When Chanyeol arrived home, Taehyung ran excitedly to the door and flung it open as he cried, "Daddy, we baked cookies!"
Baekhyun heard Chanyeol laugh at his son's enthusiasm and say something he couldn't quite hear in response, then the little tornado named Taehyung, ran back into the kitchen and seized one of hot cookies that had just came out of the oven.
He gasped and dropped it as Baekhyun cried, "Baby, they're still hot! Be careful," Baekhyun said as he grabbed Taehyung's hand, inspecting him for injuries. Baekhyun sighed when he didn't find any and pulled him into his arms, kissing his cheek before he said, "Go play, Tae, I'll bring you a cookie when they're ready."
"Okay, mommy," Taehyung chirped before dashing back into the living room.
Baekhyun sighed as Chanyeol walked into the kitchen saying, "That child is hyper enough without you feeding him sugar." Chanyeol chuckled as he wound his arms around Baekhyun's waist as he continued to say, "So what made you decide to make them? Anything special, I should know about?"
Baekhyun laughed and hugged Chanyeol when he opened his arms, and softly muttered, "Welcome home, and I made the cookies because . . ." Baekhyun shrugged. "I don't know, because I wanted to, I guess. And no, the only thing special to happen is our baby girl."
Chanyeol smiled and kissed Baekhyun's temple, before softly asking, "How was Luna?"
"She's been sleeping most of the time . . ."
Chanyeol nodded. "That's good, you would have had a chance to relax then."
Baekhyun nodded. "She's such a little angel when she's not crying."
Chanyeol chuckled and kissed Baekhyun's temple again, before saying, "Why don't you go rest? I can finish the baking and take care of the baby, so you can rest."
Baekhyun smiled and kissed Chanyeol's cheek before softly saying, "Thanks babe, wake me up in a few hours, though. Okay?"
"I make no promises, now go rest," Chanyeol said as he quickly pecked Baekhyun's lips before sending him off to bed.
Baekhyun left the kitchen with a small eye roll, and ended up sleeping longer than a few hours, to wake up feeling very refreshed and energetic. That's how their days went, hetic and sweet and always overflowing with love, and neither one of them could ever ask for anything else because they were perfectly happy the way they were.
Their children were their greatest joys, and their love was forever.
The End.
