Chapter 10
"Okay, I knew about the first one, but why did another demon get summoned?" James asks, his brow furrowing with anger. I can tell that he doesn't like this anymore than I do.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't know about any demons at all. So would someone please fill me in?" Peter requests, words polite but tone aggravated.
I sigh and plop down on the couch with my mug of tea in hand. "Well, Peter, I am a werewolf," I announce, studying the shocked look on Peter's face.
"Um, what?" he asks, leaning forward with a hand cupped behind his ear. "It sounded like you said you're a werewolf," he murmurs nervously, laughing awkwardly.
"It's true," James says, rubbing his eyes with a sigh as he sits down next to me. In response, I flash my eyes, showing off their bright red color.
Peter falls off of his chair in shock. "Holy shit," he mutters, staring up at me in shock, only succeeding in making me lose my focus and giggle stupidly. "That's cool," he adds after a few moments, standing up and trying to collect himself.
"Thanks," I reply, smiling happily. Out of the two of them, that was the best reaction I've had. James refused to leave my house until I shifted into wolf form, and then, he insisted on rubbing my belly like I was a puppy. I mean, I didn't complain, but still, it was a little ridiculous.
Suddenly, a pounding on the door makes me jump. Thankfully, I don't spill any tea. I can smell that it's my pack at the door. God, there's so many of us.
Leaping up from the couch, I immediately throw open the door to be tackled by my three closest pack members.
"Oh, my God. Get off, guys," I order as the three of them nuzzle me rather annoyingly.
"Bloody hell, poppet," my Papa says, and the three teens finally get off of me. Suddenly, I'm face to face with two pairs of eyes, a bright green and sky blue.
"Hi dad, Papa," I greet, smiling tiredly. My dad wordlessly picks me up easily and lowers me to stand on my feet.
"Hey, kiddo," he returns, ruffling my blode hair fondly.
Both of my fathers' eyes land on my mate, who has come to stand rather awkwardly across the room. "What's he doing here?" my Papa asks, raising his large brows at me. At first, I assumed he was angry, but the way he starts to smirk suggestively at me let's me know otherwise.
"Not what I needed to talk to y'all about," I state, feeling my cheeks flush as all of my pack starts to grin stupidly at me.
"Right, demons," my dad says, wrapping an arm around my Papa before dragging the two of them to the couch. "You sure it was a deom summoning ritual?"
Beckoning all of my large pack inside, I shut the door and nod. "Yeah, the girl had the same mark as the one back then," I say, referring to when my Papa was attacked.
My parents exchange nervous glances. "This doesn't sound promising," Antonio, one of Marie's parents, says -- earning a gentle slap on the back of his head from his mate.
"No kidding, bastardo," the fiery Italian mutters sassily. Of course, this only succeeds in making Antonio grinning at his mate lovingly. I don't think I'll ever understand those two, but they seem perfect for each other.
"So, what do we do about this?" Mathew, my uncle asks, but no one seems to hear him -- excluding his mate, Gilbert.
"Birdie is right. What should we do?" I have no idea why he calls him "Birdie" -- though it's probably something oddly peverted or something like that.
"Everyone calm down," Ludwig states, causing everyone except his giddy, Italian mate, Feliciano, to go quiet. "We're here for a reason," he states, his booming voice probably waking everyone in the dorms. "Aaron," he says, rurning to me with a look of expectancy. "Tell us everything you know."
I relay the details of the demon attacking me, the body found not too long ago, and the tattoo that was revealed to be on the girl's skin. Thankfully, my pack manages to listen quietly the entire time. Hell must be freezing over.
"Bloody hell," my Papa murmurs, and everyone stays silent in shock and cluelessness. "It's like a repeat of what happened back then," he says, and my dad rubs his back gently.
I frown, feeling stress tighten my muscles. Thankfully, James notices and starts to gently rub my back. "It'll be okay," he murmurs, and I smile gratefully at him, leaning on his shoulder and closing my eyes.
"We've got to prepare for this," Lucy states, sounding as authoritative as her father, who looks on in pride. They're practically copies of each other. "What weapons do we have available?"
"Wait," I say, making everyone look at me in surprise. "Before we start stocking up on everything that goes bang, shouldn't we first find out who's doing this?" They all exchange glances amongst themselves, and I hear Peter get up and fetch a bottle of soda -- murmuring something about being too young to deal with this. "We can start some surveillance and find out who's behind this and take them down. We'll do this intelligently."
"That sounds like the best idea I've heard," Marie states, crossing her arms and giving me a smirk of approval.
"That's my boy," my dad says, grinning in approval and snuggling up to my Papa -- both of them beaming with pride.
I roll my eyes but blush in embarrassment nonetheless. "Anyway, we can start by going on patrols tomorrow night. We'll pair up and start a patrol around the perimeter of the school as well as the grounds," I state, and everyone nods in agreement.
"Now that that's settled," my Papa says, rising from his seat. "The other mages and I will head to the base and do some more research on ways to fight demons. The werewolves can stay here or come with us -- whatever they want to do."
My dad immediately hops up and heads to the fridge that Peter and I just stocked. "I'm grabbing a beer, but I'm coming with my mate," he says, winking at my Papa over his shoulder.
"I'm staying here," the twins -- Lucy and Lucas say in unison, making me chuckle.
"I'll stay," Marie says, giving James and me a look that says she'll be on the no-sex-is-going-down patrol. God, she is a pain sometimes. She probably wants me to tell James about the whole soul mate thing before we do anything more than we have.
Ludwig and Feliciano state that they'll stay, but everyone else decides to leave. Oh, dear, this is going to be rather hectic, and I have a feeling that my author is going to make the next chapter really stupid and pointless. I'm just glad that she has a sense of humor.
As everyone that's leaving files out, Peter turns to me, looking perfectly normal. "Okay, can I faint now?"
I do a double take. "Wait. What?"
Peter faints.
"God damnit."
