I thought he would say something to me while I was getting out of his car, but he just kept staring at the wheel waiting for me to close his door. I was starting to think this was not a good idea for me to get all mixed up into his bullshit. I just wanted to know why he was doing this because clearly, he was not doing this to get back at Melissa nor is she pregnant. 

I went inside my house thinking about the choices I was making at this point and was it worth it? I took a shower where I heard my mother voice in the background ranting about how I was ruining my future by having this child. 

I didn't say anything other than going to my room thinking about what just happen at the dinner table earlier at Max's house.  I was trying hard not to think about what my mother was saying earlier as well adding to what happen with Max and his mother. I went on my laptop doing some research on pregnancy since I will be acting like I am pregnant for some time until Max tells me why he had broken up with his girlfriend and caused me to be in his frenzy situation. 

My mother knocked on my door asking me if I was alright since she didn't hear me coming in earlier when she was ranting about me. ''I am fine, mother.'' I just wanted to be left alone, so I can continue with my research, but she wanted to have a talk with me about the baby and Max. 

I just sat there waiting for her to say something, but she wanted me to say something about the baby let alone the sex. ''Darling, you can talk to me when it comes to sex and babies.'' She just stood there waiting. 

''Mom, I am not going to tell you anything about my sex life?'' 

''I didn't know you were sexually active.'' She had this expression on her face showing that she didn't I could be turned on by sex. 

''Well, not everything is about you.'' 

''Doesn't mean you have to get sassy.'' I had received a text from Max telling me where I should meet him so we can walk in together at school because he wanted Melissa to see he is better off without her. I just knew I was the rebound girl clearly because I am in the middle of whatever is going on with Melissa and Max. I never thought I would be in the middle of someone relationship especially the two popular kids in school. 

I am nothing but a book nerd, so I was wondering why Max would need someone like me for? I got a text from my best friend asking if I was alright, but I couldn't talk to her without my mother leaving the room. 

''Mom. May you exit my room?'' 

''I want to talk to you about this child.'' 

''Max and I are handling this at this moment, but I promise to loop you in whenever you need the details. I wanted her out of my room because I have a long conversation to do with my best friend Jade. Our conversation tends to go longer than two hours and I wanted to speak to her about the contract I made with Max. My mother kisses my forehead and bids me goodnight which I needed at this time since I have been overwhelmed with Max and this fake pregnancy thing I will have to endure tomorrow and for the rest of my life. 

Jade and I talk for over three hours and next thing I know it was morning. I didn't want to go to school so I told my mom to call the school. She wanted to know why she needed to call the school and I told her that I am having morning sickness. 

She made the call right away but instead of her speaking to my principal, she was flirting on the phone with him. I text Jade and Max to tell them I will not be in school today, but Max responded to me telling me I will need a better excuse to avoid today charade. 

''I am having morning sickness.'' 

''Fine, only today.'' He texted back. Jade told me she will bring me some soup although now she is the only one who knows I am not really pregnant. I told Jade to not tell anyone I am not because Max made me swear him that I will not tell. 

Jade promised till the end of time she will not tell a soul about the deal I made with the popular devil himself. I couldn't stand Max because he has been treating me as if I am object with no feelings. 

My mom went to work, but she had brought me some herbal tea to drink for the morning sickness and I told her she didn't need to worry about the soup since Jade was coming to bring it. She was happy to know that Jade is still my friend even though I got pregnant before her. 

''Mom, what do you mean?''

''I have always thought it would be Jade to become pregnant before you.'' 

''Well, you thought wrong.'' I was playing the part but in reality, I believe my mother perspective because Jade is outgoing, and I am more outgoing in books. I don't really like talking to humans because they disappoint you and I am not up for disappointment. 

Usually in my books, I receive disappointments, but I don't get them as often as humans would do it. Jade is the only one who makes me feel me and nothing less than that but others at school makes me feel like a geek who have no purpose or meaning to her life.  Max text me again telling me I need to be at school tomorrow and that's final. I couldn't believe I made the deal with the devil because he is ruthless and demanding as hell.
