Chapter 24
~Months Later~
-Bobby's P.O.V-
"Bobby, will Lucy be joining us for dinner?" My mom asked as I took a bite out of my scrambled eggs.
"Yeah, I'm going to pick her up after this" I explained. In a shocking turn of events, my mom and Lucy had become really close. My mom loved her!
Lucy is now 7 months pregnant. It seemed like since the tournament, time just flew by. Telling our parents proved extremely difficult. My dad wasn't too pleased considering he thought we were 'too young' and 'wasting our life away', my mom however was the total opposite. She was so happy for us and took Lucy baby shopping straight away. Lucy's parents were a little mad, mainly at me but eventually cooled off after accompanying us to our first scan of the baby. Our friends however were fully accepting, already calling themselves aunties and uncles. We had a great support system.
Our little girl is due in July. That's right, we are having a girl! Now, to start with I was a little worried. I didn't want to be a girl dad. That means I'm going to have to watch her grow up, go on dates and meet... boys! Not on my watch!
The only downside to the whole thing was seeing how the pregnancy affected Lucy. She became too self conscious and she seemed sad a majority of the time, she'd cry over the smallest things and I hated seeing her like that. Lucy hated going to school, everyone had something to say. Little whispers as she walked down the corridor, or girls fawning over her bump to her face and then talking about her behind her back. Some people even went too far, calling her a whore which did not sit right with me! I had to correct a few people but didn't get violent for Lucy's sake. Dutch and Johnny did that for me.
"Not long left now son! Are you ready?" My dad asked coming up behind me and patting both of my shoulders.
"Ready? No I'm not ready but is anyone ever ready for these things?" I admitted.
"Bobby, do you want me to go and grab Lucy whilst you eat?" My mom offered, already reaching over to grab her car keys.
"Am I allowed to say no?" I chuckled.
"No!" She beamed at me before rushing out of the door. I shook my head in disbelief and continued eating, my dad sitting opposite me.
"Is Lucy going to UCLA with you?" My dad asked, sipping his coffee.
"No she's going to take a gap year, with the baby and all" I told him. He nodded showing he understood.
"Have you figured out where you are going to stay yet?" My dad asked curiously. What was this, 21 questions? I let out a long sigh and rubbed my hand over my face. There was so much to do with so little time.
"No, we've been putting it off for so long we just forgot. I'm sure her parents will let us stay with them until we figure something out" My dad snickered into his mug and I glared at him.
"What's so funny?" I quizzed raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing son" He smiled widely at me and remained silent as I finished up my breakfast. I heard the opening and closing of the front door and I instantly got to my feet, rushing over to my girls. Lucy looked great, as usual.
"Hey!" I greeted, kissing her sweetly on the lips before bending down and placing a small kiss onto her stomach. "Hello princess, it's daddy" I needed her to hear my voice so she was familiar with me when she arrived, so I got use to greeting her aswell.
"She's really active today" Lucy said. I wrapped my arm around her and led her to the couch, placing my hand on her stomach, feeling our baby kick.
"I can see that" I laughed. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm ok, just really tired" she told me, laying her head on my shoulder. "We got the stroller by the way"
"You did! You didn't carry it did you?" I asked my eyes widened.
"No, my dad did silly" she giggled. She thanked my mom as she handed her a glass of water.
"Don't get too comfortable you two, me and your mom are taking you somewhere quickly" My dad announced walking into the sitting room. Me and Lucy shared a worried glance.

We pulled up to my grandads old house and I frowned. I hadn't been here since my grandad had passed. I followed my parents out of the car and raced to Lucy's side, opening the door and helping her out. I reached down and laced our hands together as we walked. My dad took out a set of keys and unlocked the door, holding it open for us to step inside.
I expected the place to smell old and dusty, considering no one had been living here for a while. But I was wrong. The smell of fresh paint filled my nose as I looked around in awe. The hallway had been freshly decorated as well as the other rooms. It was a small two bedroom house, not too far from my parents or Lucy's place. I watched Lucy as she took her hand away from mine and began exploring the downstairs, admiring most of the stuff placed in the house.
"Let's go upstairs" My dad said and led the way. My mom took Lucy's arm and walked with her, I stayed right behind her.
My dad showed us the bathroom and the first bedroom. A beautiful new double bed sat in the middle of the room and a huge wardrobe at the side. At the far end sat a small dressing table.
"This is beautiful but why are we here?" Lucy asked.
"Well I'm thinking of selling this place since no one uses it and wanted to know if you guys thought it looked decent enough before I put it on the market" My dad told us. His face expressionless.
"There's one more room" my mom sang. My dad clapped his hands together and led us to the final room. He smirked at the two of us and pushed the door open. Lucy let out a gasp and rushed in.
"What the hell?" I questioned with a smile. The walls were painted a light pink and one of the walls had white lettering saying 'Baby Brown'. A crib sat by that wall. On the other side was a small changing table filled with all of the essentials and a small dresser right beside it. Next to the window sat a rocking chair, which Lucy had already sat down in.
"So, do you like it?" My mom asked with a small laugh.
"It's great but what is this?" I asked walking over to stand beside Lucy who sat rocking in the rocking chair, like a happy little child with a new toy.
"Well, grandpa left this house to us when he passed so we thought we could give it to you guys for your own little family" My dad told us. My jaw dropped as I starred at my parents in disbelief.
"You're serious?!" I blurted out.
"As serious as a heart attack" My dad replied. He walked over to us and handed me the keys to the house. Lucy let out a squeal and quickly got up, with a struggle of course and embrace my dad.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" She let go of my dad and instantly wrapped her arms around my mom.
"Thanks dad, you don't know how much this means to us. It's taken a huge weight off of my shoulders " I hugged him. I couldn't be more grateful.
"Don't mention it, I know what it's like. I was in your position once" He told me. I heard crying and looked over at my mom and Lucy. "Oh Jesus" my dad mumbled. I pouted and went over to them, taking Lucy out of my mom's arms.
"Hey why are you crying?" I wiped away her tears with my thumb.
"It's so beautiful" she cried.
"We'll give you guys a minute" My mom said and dragged my dad out of the nursery.
I wrapped my arms around Lucy and let her cry into my shoulder. I looked around the room once again in amazement. I couldn't believe my parents had done this for us. I didn't know how we could ever repay them. I leaned down and kissed Lucy's head.
"Hey" I pulled back and took both of her hands in mine. "This is our home" I lovingly gazed into her eyes, her bottom lip stuck out.
"I know! I can't believe it" She managed to say. I kissed her nose before pulling her back into a hug.
