Chapter 15
-Lucy's P.O.V-
It had been a few days since the incident. Aaron had not returned back to school and I don't think he will be any time soon. Thankfully, every one around me helped me move on from the incident. I never told my parents however, they would've had a fit.
I finished up in the girls bathroom and made my way to history. I felt a pair of hands grab my waist and spin me. I giggled uncontrollably as Bobby placed multiple kisses on my neck.
"Hello you"
"Hey" I turned to face him giving him a quick peck on the lips.
"I have to ask you something"
"What's that?"
"Are you busy friday evening?" He asked, rocking us from side to side.
"I am not, why" I replied "Do you require my presence?"
"Would you accompany me to the country club?" He matched my tone. I frowned. "Come on, Dutch is asking Georgia and I guarantee Ali, Susan and Barbara will be there so you won't feel uncomfortable"
"I don't know Bobby. That's not really my thing. Thats more of your families thing"
"You'll get to see me in a suit" Now that is a deal.
"Okay fine, you convinced me" I gave in.
"Good girl" He winked and slapped my behind. "Get to class before you're late"
I smiled to myself as I walked down the hall. I looked back to see him watching me, I blushed and turned away. I definitely needed a new dress before Friday. I needed to find Georgia and Ali, a shopping trip is due.
-
We had been out shopping for hours, Ali and Georgia managed to get their dresses but I couldn't find one that I thought was perfect enough. I searched frantically through all of the rails, I knew I was looking for a black dress, none of them stuck out to me. The only thing I did manage to buy was a pair of black heels with small rhinestones on the strap.
"What are you gonna do?" Ali asked as she drove us back to my house.
"I'm just gonna tell Bobby I can't make it" I mumbled in disappointment. I actually had a change of heart and had been looking forward to going.
"I really liked that dark blue one" Georgia said.
"Yeah me too, I can turn around and we can go get it?" Ali suggested but I shook my head.
"It won't match my heels" I told them. They both sighed and shot me a sympathetic look.
"What about your mom? Doesn't she have a dress you could wear?" Georgia asked.
"No, nothing I'd be comfortable in" I said. "It's fine, I'll tell him I'm sick"
Ali pulled up and we got out of the car. The three of us walked into my house, hit with the smell of food being cooked in the kitchen. My mom greeted us as she walked down the stairs, she pulled me into a hug which I returned.
"Oh Lucy, Bobby dropped off a package for you. I left it on your bed" My mom said before walking into the kitchen.
The three of us glanced at each other before rushing up the stairs to my room. I found a large white rectangular box wrapped with a black bow. I grabbed the note and read it.
'Can't wait for Friday! I know you'll look exceptional. Remember, I love you' I heard the girls 'aww' from either side of my shoulders. I excitedly opened the box, like a kid at Christmas and gasped.
"Oh my" Ali blurted out.
"It's so pretty" Georgia added.
I pulled the material out of the box and it unfolded. He had brought me a black velvet bodycon maxi dress, with long mesh sleeves. I stared at the dress in awe, it was perfect!
"I guess you'll be going after all" I heard Georgia say. I smiled widely to myself.
- Time Skip-
I smoothed down my dress, checking in the mirror to see if there were any creases at the back. I chose to wear my hair in a bun, having two loose curls hang, framing my face. I fixed my silver necklace around my neck, matching with the rhinestones on my heels. I then sprayed my favourite fragrance and applied a thin layer of nude lipgloss. Once satisfied, I made my way downstairs, my parents sat waiting for me on the couch.
"Do I look ok?" I sheepishly asked. My mom turned to me, her hands shooting up to cover her mouth.
"Look at you!" She squealed.
"Is it bad?" I grew self conscious.
"Sweetheart you look fabulous, Bobby has taste" my dad said, taking my hand and spinning me.
"He really does" I agreed.
"I'll get it!" My dad said as the door went. My mom reached into a drawer, taking out her camera.
"Mom it's not prom! Please don't" I begged.
"I don't care, you look beautiful and I wanna capture this moment"
"Hang on Helen" my dad instructed. He walked over to us, Bobby right behind him. I smiled when I saw him, he looked so good in a suit! His eyes widened when he saw me. He quickly took both of my hands in his.
"You look stunning" He blurted out and leaned down, kissing my cheek.
"Okay you two, smile" My mom said. Me and my dad rolled our eyes. Bobby and I turned to the camera and smiled. My mom finally snapped the picture.
"We gotta go, my parents are waiting outside" He told me.
"Have fun!" My mom and dad yelled, following us to the door.
-
"You ever felt so out of place? Because I do" Georgia whispered to me as I danced with Bobby. Her and Dutch danced beside us. I desperately held back my laughter but nodded my head agreeing with her.
"You're both doing great, just smile and wave" Dutch instructed us. He continued dancing with Georgia but moved away from us.
"Are you having fun?" Bobby asked.
"A little, I'm still getting use to it" I answered.
"You're doing great. Do you know how many compliments I got from my parents friends about you?"
"Really?"
"Yeah"
We fell in step, letting the rhythm control our movements. I glanced past his shoulder and spotted Ali dancing with Johnny. She didn't look too happy about that though. That was definitely her parents doing. I tapped Bobby on his shoulder and directed his attention over at the two.
"Oh god look at the kitchen window" Georgia spoke through gritted teeth. I looked and saw Daniel staring at both of them in shock. I quickly turned back and watched Johnny lean down and kiss her. What an asshole!
"Don't you ever do that to me again!" Ali spat.
We heard a loud crash come from the kitchen. I turned and my heart instantly sank. The room filled with laughter, some even pointing at poor Daniel who lay on the floor covered in red sauce. I gently nudge Bobby, hoping he'd stop laughing but he didn't. Daniel, with a look of embarrassment got up and ran out of the building. Me and Georgia secretly high-fived each other as Ali socked Johnny straight in the mouth. He deserved it! I tried to chase after Ali but Bobby stopped me.
The laughter had died down after a couple of minutes, everyone went back to dancing, eating and drinking.
"I'm glad you agreed to come" Bobby said, resting his forehead against mine.
"I'm glad you asked" I replied. Bobby turned his head slightly, bringing his lips towards mine. I closed my eyes, waiting for the kiss. We heard someone clear their throats, distracting us.
"Bobby" We looked up to see his parents standing in front of us. His dad looked really annoyed. He glanced at me with an apologetic look.
"Lucy would you mind, an old friend would like to dance with my son" She flashed me a fake smile and moved aside, unveiling the one person I didn't expect to see.
"Hi Bobby" She greeted.
"Lisa?!"
