Jakes Pov

My eye's burnt and water poured out of my eyes. I had been staring at the screen for over seven hours now, without a break!

Office is usually a monotony except for the funny occurrences once in a while which we all look for.

They result in people getting fired but they're funny none the less, even at thirty one I'm unsure of human nature as I ever was they get so easily caught up with emotions, so easily offended so many people are hypocrites. I would like animals any day but I don't like animals either, If would like to see them but nope animals aren't really my cup of tea and I don't want to be their snacks as well. Shelly loves dogs
I wonder why? I get so jealous at times because they get to lick her and I can't.

"Hamilton " My manager towered over my desk his hands crossed but a smile playing on his face. He had light blue eyes which crinkled at the sides due to age, these he normally used to scare the crap out of people at normal times. He was now pleading me with those eyes.. ( That just sounded so wrong)

Craner thought I was smiling because of him, " Take a break would you? At this rate you'll burn out I swear"

" Sure sir, just one more call I'll take anf then I'll leave?" I stuttered because Mr. Craner NEVER offered anyone to take a break.

He nodded his head and headed away, his shoes clicking on the white marble floors synchronised with the walls and his shirt (he wore white everyday).

Another phone call came in a customer in need. I reached out to pick up the green reciever
" Hello sir, this is Hamilton here what would be your query? "

Shelly's Pov

I sat there breathing heavily. What on earth just happened? Stephen had apparent come in to get his torch from inside the tent, how did his tent even get here in the first place? He saw me and reached forward to remove a strand of hair from my face and then as if he had not scared my life out of me he left the tent. What was I thinking? Is he seriously trying to put some kind of message across? I am just so confused.

My eyes opened and.I felt fresh. I had an urge to pee so badly and we were in the open.

My parents were sleeping beside me so I took care not to wake them up and went a little deeper inside the forest to pee.

It was relief beyond description... I straddled my pant back on anf headed towards my tent again. I was only just going to go inside when Gunther called, " Want to go out for a walk?"

" Sure!" they were all so older than I am, surely my parents wouldn't mind. Gunther held me by my hand and led me to the narrow road that led forward into the forest. I followed him looking at the wonderful greenery that met with my eyes.

-" So, You like mountains? " he asked, just as if he were asking me about whether I liked his friend. I blushed at the thought. " Yes"

" More or less than you like my brother?"

I look at him in shock, what on earth was he saying?

I feel my cheeks turning red and he smirks.

" There you are. " Stephen's lanky figure shows itself from behind the bush. " I've been looking for you for ages Bro!" he thumps Gunther on the back and then ask if suddenly noticing me (I am short) he grins," Hey Shells"

I can't look him in the eye but I manage to say a prominent hi. I went further into the forest via that narrow rocky path. I just had to get away.

I wasn't doing the right thing. Jake would be disheartened but did I love Jake at all? OFCOURSE YOU DO SHELLY! My brain told me or maybe it was my heart. I don't know. It just kept going away from both of them, away from my parents, away from humanity and the pain gnawed inside my chest. Am I cheating on Jake? No. Okay. Yes. But this would pass right?

It's just a crush probably and I wanted Stephen to touch me. So badly, his warm, soft fingers melting into me would be delicious. NO I DID NOT JUST THINK THAT.

I fell down and tumbled in between some rocks, my head hurt from crying so much and I never even realised that!

A strong hand grasped my shoulders. " Hey Shells what's the problem, what happened? " Stephen.

-" Nothing " I started crying again.

-" parents said something? "

-" No"

- " Then?"

-" Nothing " You came into my life that's what you dumbass.

He looked at me for some moments before coming in front of me and sitting down. He ruffled my hair and then said,

" Your hair is thick" and my brown eyes looked at him waiting for his snide remarks, " just like you"

My face broke into a smile.

Cummon he got up and dusted his black pant, lighting a cigarette he put forward his other hand to pick me up. I grabbed a hold of it and he pulled me.

" You're fat" he said very nonchalantly.

-" I know " Ever since Jake had come into my life I had begun gaining weight. Mostly because my parents made me give up swimming after that but love was also for sacrificing right?

Stephen held my hands and intertwined our fingers, he rubbed his forefinger on my hand. I would've felt guilty but if only his hand on mine could divine such passion I wondered what else he could do.

I giggled and found him staring at me, in the same soul searching way that I normally caught him with.
