Shelly's Pov

Stephen looked at me with those big eyes of his, " You read this book?" I snatched the book and read the cover, " The Suspicious Wife" It was a thin book, very flimsy to hold. The cover was yellow streaked with red.

"No, I haven't " I told the lanky guy in front me.

He grinned, " You can't appreciate good literature "

- " Not true "

- " Troo -ue" He stuck out his tongue like a kid and I laughed.

My stomach started hurting because I was laughing so hard and then when I suddenly looked his eyes were on me. I felt his gaze searching mine looking for answers to questions I didn't know.

He had lovely, deer like eyes big and brown. He looked like a child at times and he lived away from his parents so obviously he missed them and was lonely.

" Stephen, I have work " My dad called him.

We were at the office and I was sitting at his desk as usual. He got up and gave my arms a squeeze, winked and then left.

What was the squeeze for?

Jakes Pov

She hasn't called for so many days, I miss her. I sit at the desk of my work table gazing outside the window. The sky is cloudy indicating it will rain very soon. I wish I could pour out me sorrow like that.

I wasn't well. I haven't been well for around the past one month. Ever since that Stephen boy came around. Why doesn't she pay any attention to me at all?

Why does she keep avoiding my questions and why on earth does she keep giggling whenever she talks with of him.

Can't she see that my breath turns shallow, can't she understand the pain of her talking about another man.

Atleast she loves ME though not him! No one can take my place she said so herself.
