Shelly's Pov

I looked in the mirror, my heart brimming with joy. My lips had turned red and so was my nose. My eyes twinkled and there was a glow on my face which I never noticed before. I'm sure my parents would have noticed had they paid a little more attention to me. But they had work. I touched my lips. It was an amazing day.. I had finally found someone who I could count on to remove me from my miserable life of feeling like a burden all the time.

I went back to my room, a message awaited me, " Do I look okay for you?"
What kind of question was that?

Jakes Pov

She was amazing, so amazing that I became insecure so when she replied with a " What the hell do you mean?"

I wasn't disappointed.

- " would you care to love me for the rest of your life? " I replied.

- " Yeah! No problem. " she replied. That naughty girl.

- " I'm not asking for too much am I? "

- " You are.. But I'll manage "

This girl always made me laugh. I was so happy with her.

I reached my house. My parents were shouting at each other. They shouted so much. I couldn't stand it.

-" Where were you? " My mum asked.

-" Gone out with my friends "

- " Is that so?"

-" Yeah "

- " Really? "

-" I don't owe you an explanation woman! " I finally gave way to shouting before I slammed the door of my room to her face.

I couldn't leave my parents. My dad was retired and it was also ill - spoken of. They'd say I didn't look after them even If I did give them the funds.

My parents drove me crazy. After nine hours and sometime overtime working. I was tired. All the time. They didn't help me at all. They just kept screaming and shouting at me. It was horrible. I was old enough to look after myself. I am the bread earner of the family!

Oh Shelly! How I wish you were here to comfort me.
