Chapter 5

After school, Killua's POV:

"Well, I guess I should get going home now." Killua told Gon. He turned to leave, but Gon grabbed his arm. He could have broken free and kept walking, but he stopped dead in his tracks. He turned his head. "What is it??" Gon let go of his arm and rubbed his fingers together shyly (I think that's a word?). "Well, I was wondering if you could come over to my house??"

Killua stood there, he really wanted to say yes. Not just because he didn't want to see his family, but also because he wanted to be with Gon. "I... I guess I could call and check... but it will probably be a no." "Can you still try??" Gon pleaded with a begging face. "Okay."

Killua grabbed his phone and looked at his contacts. Hmmm... who would I have the best chance of getting a yes from who actually has the authority to say I can...? Definitely not mom. Not Milluki or Illumi.. Dad or Grandpa... He chose his grandpa and put the phone to his ear.

"Killua? Hello."

"Hi... so um..."

"Yeah?"

"Wait- grandpa?"

"No this is your father."

Oh shit this might not work now.

"Where is grandpa??"

"Asleep."

"Ugh, I guess I'll just ask you then."

"Ask me what?"

"Can I um- can I-"

"What?"

"Er- can I maybe- uh-"

Gon grabbed Killua's phone, "Hi!"

"Who are you?"

"A friend of Killua's, we were wondering if maybe it would be okay for Killua to have a sleepover or at least just hang out at my place today??"

"Killua doesn't have friends. No."

"Wait! Why not?"

"He doesn't have friends. And put him back on the phone."

Gon frowned and sadly handed Killua the phone back.

"Killua"

"Please dad?"

"You know you can't have friends."

"Then why did you send me to school huh?"

"Because you didn't even know what 43+986 is even when you were given a paper to show your work on."

"That kind of math is way above my level shut up!"

"..."

"Sorry- I didn't mean to say that. But you knew that if you sent me to school I would end up making friends so this is your fault now."

"Hmm."

"So?"

"No."

"Why- you know what. Screw this I'm just going over to his house anyways. No matter what you say because I want to have friends and I won't let you change that!"

"Kil-"

Killua hung up and put his phone away.

"Killua..." Gon said. "Yeah? Is something wrong?" Gon stared at the ground, "Well- just like why aren't you allowed to have friends??" Killua tried to make a believable excuse, and it turned out to be a little bit true too, "Well, my family is really overprotective of me." "Oh alright. Anyways, come on let's go!"

Gon started running down the sidewalk, then cut across into the forest, and Killua followed, staying next to him the whole time. After a short while, they got to Gon's house, and Gon walked up to the front door and opened it. "Aunt Mito!" Gon yelled. Killua stayed behind Gon as they walked inside. "Aunt Mito I'm home!"

Aunt Mito walked in from around the corner, "Hi Gon! How was school?? Oh is that your friend??" "Yeah!" Gon exclaimed happily. "It's so great to meet you," Aunt Mito said to him with a kind and welcoming smile. Killua attempted a smile, "Hi." "Killua come see my room!" Gon told him. "Okay!" "Last one upstairs is a rotten egg!" Gon exclaimed out of nowhere, running up the stairs." "No fair you got a head start!" Killua said smiling. He chased after him but tripped on one of the stairs, but he got back up and got to the top first.

"Wow, you really are fast!!" Gon exclaimed as he got to the top close behind Killua. "Heh, I guess." They went to Gon's room and sat down on the floor. "So what do we plan on doing??" Killua asked curiously. "Well we should do our homework first so we don't forget." "Oh- yeah good idea..."

Gon's POV:

"Okay math first?" he asked Killua. "Sure," he responded.

They worked for a while until they finally finished their homework. He did his homework and helped Killua with his, but the whole time was still a little distracted, thinking about Killua.

He's so cute, kind, and soft, but then the next minute he seems like a whole new person, and his family is really weird, and they seem more than overprotective. And based on how Killua acted sometimes, he didn't really need any protecting. And also just Killua's pure overwhelming speed. And most overprotective parents who are that overprotective would send a sibling to school too, or have someone they trust go with him to keep an eye on him. Or let him have one really good friend to keep an eye on him. And whenever I talk to Killua about his abilities and strength, he seems to freeze up. So it must be more than that.. there had to be something more.

Even if Killua wasn't really who Gon originally thought he was, and he was different, Gon still wanted to be with him. But how could he tell Killua that? He couldn't really... so what was he gonna do? Killua made it quite clear he wanted to have friends, and he really seemed to care, and whenever he goes home after school there's always a negative sort of feeling that he emits.

Killua wasn't evil. Gon knew that much. He could easily see that Killua was not a bad person, and no matter what was up with him and his family he wanted to be with him. And nobody could stop him from that.

When they finished their homework, both of them let out a relieved and exhausted sigh. "So what do you want to do now?" Gon asked Killua. "Hmmmm.." Killua thought, "I don't really know. What do you usually do?"

Gon filled with excitement. "Follow me!" Gon dashed downstairs and grabbed some fishing stuff, Killua followed him. "Fishing??" Killua guessed. "Yeah!" Gon exclaimed. I wonder if he's ever gone fishing before? Even if he hasn't, I have a feeling he'd be good at it.

"Bye Aunt Mito! We're gonna go fishing!!!" "Okay!" Aunt Mito called from the kitchen, "Stay safe and be back before dinner time!!"

They walked through the forest until they reached a pond. "Here." Gon said. He looked at Killua, who was looking around, and then looked at Gon. "Have you ever gone fishing before Killua?"

"Nope, this is my first time. I've stayed in my house almost my whole life." "Oh. Okay."

Another thing about him... that's really weird.

Gon had no trouble teaching Killua how to fish, he was a very quick learner. They sat on the grass together with the lines out in the water. Gon felt a small tug on the fishing rod, and all his attention went towards that. He waited until he was sure the fish actually ate the bait, not just nibbling off the edges. He slowly and carefully stood up, and Killua was watching him.

Not yet... not yet.. OH MY GOD-

Hahahaha cliffhanger. Don't worry it's hard for me to stop at cliffhangers too so I'm just going to start the next chapter right now lol.
