Macy opened her eyes to find herself back in New York, with here parents sitting on the old couch where she use to lie ill, in a place she use to call home.

She scrambled off the floor and smiled happily at her mother and father who smiled back at her

"Mom, dad." She said as she ran into their arms. They both embraced her tightly, they were just as she remembered them.

"Am I dead?" Macy said as she pulled away

"Only if you want to be" her dad said as Macy furrowed her eyebrows

"What does he mean mom." She said turning her head to her mom

"There's people down their who need you sweetie, people who love you." Her mom said " as you're a hunter, you get to choose if you want to wake up as a vampire or stay dead and pass on your legacy."

"How do you." Macy said but her dad shushed her

"Theirs a lot you will come to know and find out birdy." The old nickname her dad gave her made her smile "but not from here with us."

"She's dead, the vampire that killed you" Macy said and her mom nodded

"I know baby girl, we've been watching you, we're so proud of you." She said and Macy smiled

"I want to stay here mom." Macy said, she felt like a child again

"But Macy, theirs so much for you to do." Her mom said taking her hand

"I don't want to be a vampire, I don't want to lose my powers." Macy pleaded

"You won't, my dear if you choose to live, you won't need to pass on your legacy, you won't need to do anything, you'll just live as a vampire who is also a hunter." Her dad said

"Isn't that hypocritical." Macy huffed

"Very." Her mom said "but it's what the witches wanted, they believed whoever had the heart to do this before, you'll have it to do it again."

"Only you know when to change your powers and only you know when your ready to give up." Her dad finished

"And I'm not." Macy whispered thinking about Elena, Stefan... damon

She didn't get to see Damon

"I'm not ready to go." Macy said and her mom and dad smiled

"I know, be safe little one, be a good vampire in a world full of bad ones." Her dad said as they both give her one last hug

I'll never leave New York again Macy once said....Now she's glad she did.
