Secrets and Departure
Doctor's POV
"Do you have to leave?" Kat asked me as I unlocked the door of the TARDIS. "Yes. I can't tell you why, but I can tell you that you'll find out soon."
"How soon?" she asked.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"9:41," Kat read from her watch.
"In two minutes. Literally," I said, stepping into the TARDIS and shutting the door.
Amy's POV
"Stay there," the Doctor told me as he walked right by me. "I need to show you something."
"Okay?" I sat down on the chair. After a couple minutes he came back holding a piece of paper. No, a photograph. He showed the photograph. It was a twelve-year old girl sitting down, using the TARDIS as a back rest. Her hands were on her ankles and she was grinning. What I noticed the most was how similar she looked to Kat, only the girl in the picture's eyes were brown and Kat's were green. "Who's that?" I asked.
"Kat's child, the last time I saw Melody," he explained.
"Melody's the child, right? And how did you get this photograph?" I asked.
He sat down next to me. "It's gonna be hard telling you this."
"Tell me what?" I asked.
He sighed and leaned back. "I should just get it over with, but it's hard."
"Just get it over with, then," I suggested. "What is it you want to tell me?"
"The father," he looked at me, and I knew what he was going to say before he said it.
"I'm the father."
Doctor's POV
"Wow," Amy said softly. "Gee, it must be hard. Where's Melody right now? With her mother?"
"No," I looked down. "Kat died when Melody was two. No, Melody's living with the twins at the moment?"
"The twins...Ella and Stella?" she asked. I nodded. "Melody calls them her 'half sisters' when she knows they're really not."
"How old's Melody? Assuming it's been a while?" Amy pressed.
"16," I told her. "I haven't seen her for three years."
"That must be hard," Amy said.
I shrugged and pulled the TARDIS into flight.
Kat's POV
I watched as the TARDIS went into flight, then turned back to enter the apartment building. As I did, however, I felt another breeze and heard the TARDIS again. I spun around, thinking that he had come back, when the door opened and it was the Doctor, but not the Doctor that had just left. I understood then, but I still couldn't help the words tumbling out of my mouth-
"What. The. Hell."
Author's note:
I'm really sorry this is so short. It's just my hearts (did you see what I did there?) aren't into writing this anymore. But I read the comments and that's really what kept me going because they were sweet (well, there's really only like one comment that was really sweet, but someone had voted for all the chapters (a.k.a Magicgoddess) and I didn't want to let the people who liked this book be let down because I deleted it. This is also my most read book and why would I delete it since it's my most popular book (the other being the first book in my Melody series, Melody: A Doctor Who Story, it's about Kat's child.
Thank you for all those reads and comments and votes! Don't forget to type in melodypiper in the search bar and read all the Melody books!
