*The next morning*

Doctor's POV

Without meaning to, I had dozed off. When I woke up, there were two little holes in my wrist. They weren't very deep, but I wasn't sure how I got them. Amy stumbled into the room, her hair a rat's nest, eye's half shut. "Good morning," she yawned.

"Mornin'. I dozed off and found this on my wrist. Strange, isn't it?" I said. She held up her wrist. "Funny, I've got the same marks. On the same wrist."

"Okayyy, that's not weird..." I murmured.

"Of course it is!" cried Amy.

"I was being sarcastic..." I muttered. I stood up. "Right. Let's go talk to Kat. Actually, I'd like to talk to her alone," I said.

"How do you know she's awake?" asked Amy.

I looked at my wristwatch. "It's a quarter after eleven. She'll be awake."

I looked at the apartment building in front of me. I headed in.

"Morning, Doctor," said Kat. "You live in that police box?"

"Well, it's a TARDIS," I mumbled.

"I know," she said and stood away from the door to let me in. "Ella and Stella are at school," she said.

"I figured."

She was silent for a moment. Then she asked. "Any reason why to visit?"

I shrugged. "I never got your last name."

"It's Piper," she said. "Why?"

"Just wondering," I said. She nodded.

We were silent for a moment. Then Kat said, "Three months pregnant, Doctor, and I can't wait for it to be over." She ran her fingers over her belly.

"What are you going to name the kid once he or she is born?" I asked.

"If a boy, I would name him Michael, if it's a girl, Melody," she confessed. I nodded. "They're beautiful names."

She grinned. "Aren't they? I was going to name the child Cassandra- after me- if it was a girl, but I decided against it," she said.

"Your name is Cassandra?"

"I hate it, believe or not. I choose to be called Kat, which people made fun of, saying, 'Here comes Kat the Cat!' It's stupid, but I've always been bullied. I was a nerd," she looked at me. "Look at me. I've only met you yesterday, and it feels like I'm confessing everything to you!"

"Not really. It's sad that you've been bullied," I said quickly. She smiled and sat down in a chair. We had reached the living room. "You're a Time Lord, right?"

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Were cats can tell what, well, species people are. Nobody knows why, but it's dead useful," she looked at me. "The twins- Ella and Stella- they're Time Lords, too. Well, Time Ladies, but really, they're the same thing, aren't they? Well, except for gender. Am I boring you? I tend to have that effect on people."

 "No, no, of course not," I said quickly. In reality, I was close to snoring. "What do you mean, Ella and Stella are Time Ladies?"

She clamped her hands over her mouth. "I shouldn't have told you that. I'm releasing too much info."

"Would it explain why they have a TARDIS?" I asked. "I won't tell them that you said that about them. Not yet, anyways."

Kat nodded. "Yeah. I won't release any more information."

"It's okay. I've really got to go."

Kat stood up. "Okay. In case you plan on visiting the twins again, I would do it around four. That's about an hour after they get home."

"Will do."

On the way back to the TARDIS, I was thinking about what Kat had said. I was absolutely sure about one thing.

I had met her before. And her unborn child.
