Jealous
Recap:
"Well, Willow, I have a feeling that you don't know your way back to the palace."
"True, and we couldn't have me tripping over any more roots," Willow smirked at Logan who raised his eyebrows, smirking as well.
"What do you suggest?"
Willow smiled devilishly, "I guess you'll just have to walk me all the way back to the dining room."
"You know, I'm actually a pretty fast paced guy, I like to move quickly into things," Logan leaned towards her- was he going to kiss her? Willow's face flushed at the thought and Logan smirked as if he had accomplished his goal. He stared intensely into her eyes, then suddenly pulled back, taking his heat with him. "Which... is why I like to move fast!"
He took off running out of the garden, "Race ya!"
Willow smiled at his childish behaviour and then yelled to him, "Hey! I don't have shoes!"
"That's your problem! Try to keep up!" Willow giggled, and then began to laugh as she chased Logan back to the palace. Willow had a good feeling about him, as well as a familiar one.
-----
Willow got more than a few share of glares when Logan, over exaggerating, walked her into the dining room with a profuse bow. He wasn't supposed to meet any of the selected until that afternoon and the other girls seemed quite upset that he had broken the rule for her. As much as she was modest, Willow couldn't help but feel a burst of pride at everyone's jealousy.
"Seems like you're quite the lucky lady," Logan whispered, the light from the chandeliers glinting in his eyes. She flushed scarlet and tried to hide her blush. "When you try to hide it, it only makes it more obvious. But don't worry, everyone loves me, well, besides my parents, teachers, advisors... Okay, I take that back. Anyone who could be romantically involved with me loves me. And it seems, my fine maiden, that you've made that list." He winked and Willow swatted his arm, but she didn't protest.
Once again, Willow allowed herself to admire how absolutely gorgeous he was, and then, in turn, the dining room. A large, long, table situated in the center of the room was filled with the other thirty-four selected. Light filtered in from the many windows along the perimeter of the grand room. Flowing royal blue curtains were draped to the sides so the light could reflect from stained glass murals at the tops of each window. Each portrayed a different scene; a prince being crowned; a king speaking to his citizens, standing with his queen, holding his new child. But one depiction had Willow confused.
"What's that bird on the last mural over there? The one that kind of looks like a swan?" Logan looked to the mural she was describing and his eyebrows furrowed.
"I... don't know. I've actually never seen that one before, odd." For a moment Logan was thoughtful then, "What I have seen before is jealousy, and those girls seem filled to the seams with it." Willow had forgotten that everyone was watching them, and when she spun to face the table she was met with thirty-four pairs of angry eyes.
"I should go sit down before they scream a battle cry and come at me with teeth bared." Willow remarked, rather sarcastically, but with a smile on her face.
"Yes, the aftermath of that would certainly make you less attractive. You'd still outshine all of them, though." But he seemed somewhat unsure of his latter comment when he began to study the other girls. He was confused, as Willow had been, when he realized they were all similar to her.
"What is it?"
"Nothing," but when Willow raised her eyebrow, "I guess they all just seem really different from their photos.
"Oh." Willow whispered, unsure if he could even hear her. He had begun to smirk and wink at the other girls. How could she even think she had a chance? They were all far more beautiful than the her. "Well, I'll, uh, see you around, then." Willow hurried to the only empty chair at the table before she cool embarrass herself any further.
What a fool she was.
She watched Logan out of the corner of her eye. He seemed confused that she had disappeared so quickly, but a quick glance at Willow's glares towards him and the other girls gave him his answer. When he thought no one else was looking he mouthed jealous? to Willow and smirked when she blushed a deep red. Willow wasn't gonna let him get off that easily, though. So, she mouthed back you wish! He held his hands over his heart and opened his mouth wide in mock hurt at her response. Then he smiled devilishly and Willow was immediately scared for her health.
Because damn, he was hot. She would never admit that to his face, of course. But her admiration was short lived with the presence his next comment. A comment he made sure everyone in the entire palace could hear.
"I think I'll take you up on you offer, Miss Lark! I'll come to your room late tonight, dress appropriately." He winked at the end and the rest of the selected began to laugh at what he had implied.
Willow could've sworn she looked like she had just run a hundred miles because of the shade of red on her cheeks. And yet, she couldn't help giggle along with the other girls.
What a nut.
What a wonderful, lovable nut.
Secretly, Willow couldn't help but wish that he would pay her a visit. Needless to say, a rated PG visit.
Although, did kissing fall under PG? Because if not, Willow wouldn't actually mind PG-13 either!
