Chapter 10

Adrien and Marinette walked the streets of Paris, early in the morning, as they intertwined their fingers. Adrien wore a very excited smile that made Marinette playfully roll her eyes.

"You're really excited, huh?" She asked. Adrien looked at her and nodded like a little puppy. "Of course. This is the best part about being engaged. Cake testing!" He exclaimed, happily. Marinette's smile dropped and she gave him a glare. Adrien gulped as he realized his mistake. "Besides knowing the idea that my beautiful lady is going to be my wife." He soothed her, kissing her on the cheek.

Marinette gave him a side eye but smiled anyway. She knew very well that he loved her father's cake.

They arrived at the entrance and Adrien pushed the door open for her before signing her to come in. She giggled as she walked in front of him. As soon as the door had opened, the bell above it went off, and her parents showed themselves. "Ah, kids! You're here!" Tom announced with a loud voice that echoed all over the bakery. Tom threw his arms around them in a big hug. Sabine laughed and placed a hand on her husband's back. "Sweetie, calm down. We want them both alive for the wedding." She told him.

Tom pulled away from the hug, leaving Adrien and Marinette rather disheveled. "Sorry kids!" He said. Sabine hugged her daughter as they started talking about how work was doing.

Tom wrapped an arm around his future son-in-law as he walked him upstairs. "I made some of your favorite pastries because I knew you were coming over." He exclaimed, excited. Adrien looked at him as if he were god as he wiped away an imaginary tear. "I loave you." He said before they both busted out laughing at his pun. An interest they both shared much to Marinette's dislike.

Meanwhile, Marinette had just finished telling her mother how everything was at the office and was very excited rambling about her new collection. "So how's the wedding planning going? Are you sure you don't need us to help with anything?"

Sabine asked as she walked up the stairs. Marinette softly smiled and shook her head. "No maman. It's alright. We have a wedding planner already helping us and so do both of our assistants." She explained.

"Are you sure? Because neither I nor your dad would mind?" Marinette laughed. Her mother was by far the sweetest person on this planet. Adrien always said that Marinette got it from her. Marinette is too similar to her mother for her own good.

"No maman! The fact that you already want to make the cake and pastries for us is already amazing. Thank you so much again!" Sabine waved her hand around as they arrived in the living room and took place on the sofa. "Oh dear, you know it's no problem. You're father and I have already been designing your wedding cake ever since you guys told us you were dating." She cooed, remembering the first time Marinette brought him over for dinner.

Marinette sat down next to her fiancée as they looked at each other lovingly. "Oh My God, I remember how nervous I was," Adrien exclaimed, letting out a breathy. "And I remember that It was absolutely not necessary because my parents loved you the minute you stepped through that door." Marinette teased with a grin on her face as she reached out to grab his hand. He smiled at her and gave her hand a quick squeeze. "Well luckily." He huffed.

Sabine placed a big box on the table before they before she opened it. Inside were all kinds of cupcakes with different frosting. "So we made an example of every type of cake we can make you so you can easily decide which one you like the best." She told them before she placed a hand on Adrien's shoulder. "You'll have to share this with your bride but don't worry we got some backups" She whispered into his ear. Adrien sniffled again. "I feel so loved here." He whispered

After many bites and many flavors, they were in doubt between two flavors. Strawberry and passion fruit or chocolate and vanilla. "I think the chocolate and vanilla one is delicious but the strawberry and passion fruit just fits us perfectly! I mean it's both our favorite flavors and I must say they're delicious together." Marinette spoke. Adrien nodded and smiled at her. "I agree. This is the one." He exclaimed. Marinette leaned her head on his shoulder and laughed. "I can't wait to smash a piece of that cake into your face." Adrien's head immediately turned to her. "You're gonna do what now?"
