Special Chapter

First off, I know it's been forever, and I've kind of lost interest in this book. I don't know if I'll continue it though, it's a possibility. This special chapter is going to be dedicated to what I think would happen after Aphmau's most recent episode( Which broke my heart ) Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Pain.

That's all Aaron felt as his mind ran wild, trying to get him on his feet. Every time something knocked him down, he would get back up. He doubted he could this time. He'd left Ein to most likely die in the forest, and eventually made it back to the others. He felt his heart ache from remembering what happened next.

The potion. The knife. He just stood there will she took slashes at him, not even trying to deflect. He was to weak. He had always been weak when it came to her. His only weakness, used against him.

Now he was just blank, empty, numb. It seemed like an eternity of nothing. At this point he might've accepted death, but then his thoughts went back to Aphmau, like they always did.

Her smile.

Her eyes.

Her laugh.

He knew that after all that fighting he just couldn't give up on her. She was his one and only, his alpha female, his shu. The only women he could ever love. No, he would fight. He would fight this nightmare to make it back to another nightmare, with her at his side at least.

He loved her.

Then something unexpected happened. He felt warmth move through his body, through his arms, his legs, all coming back to his face. His mind slowly began to piece together, slowly attempting at being able to think again.

Then he was snapped into his reality, full of pain..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He gasped as his eyes flew open and began to observe his surroundings. It looked like he was back at the mansion, in one of the many rooms. He stared at the ceiling, trying to think of what to do. Before he could even begin, he heard footsteps outside the door.
Then the door opened and a single person walked in, closing it behind them.
He closed his eyes and laid there, trying to think of who and why he was here. Wasn't he supposed to be dead? Surely he was, and this was just some cruel nightmare.
He froze as he felt a warm, tender hand press against his cheek. Then a soft whimper. His heart pounded in his chest. The hand was small, and the air smelt vaguely of cinnamon and lavender. Aphmau.
That was everything he needed to know before he opened his eyes quickly and sat up in a single second. He looked at her, shocked and confused and scared all at once. But then he saw tears drip down her cheeks as she cried out and grabbed him around his torso, pulling him against her. He instantly returned the hug.
He felt a wetness on his cheeks, and he only half noticed he'd started crying too. They'd been hugging for forever before she pulled back, hold his cheeks in her hands, and starting giving him gentle kisses all over his face. "I love you, I love you, Irene I love you so much..." she kept repeating between kisses.
He accepted the sweet gifts until he couldn't  hold back anymore and leaned in to meet her actual lips. They shared a tender, loving kiss that had so much meaning in it. They hadn't kissed in what felt like years, actually being around a few weeks.
"APHMAU, ARE YOU OK! I HEARD A CRY AND... A-AARON! YOU'RE ALIVE!", yelled a surprised Garroth as he burst through the door. Aphmau sighed, "Garroth, you kind of just ruined the moment.", "Oh, oh! Sorry, I'll just umm, leave I guess?" He quickly exited, looking like he didn't really know how to react to this.
Aaron looked back at her to study her face. Her hair was in a messy bun, with small strands sticking out here and there. He tucked one behind her ear, giving her a light blush. That's one of the things he loved about Aphmau, it didn't matter that they'd been together for over a year, she still blushed whenever he did, well, anything really.
He moved to her eyes, which had large bags under them. Her left eye still had a faint bruise under it from him. His blood boiled at the thought of him hurting her, making him regret not just killing him there. He calmed down, and in that time he stared into her eyes. They always put him at ease.
He finally moved to her lips, that were no longer soft and plump, but chapped and dry. He leaned his forehead against hers and continued to stare into her eyes. They were like melted caramel, only getting slightly darker in the center.
Aaron planted a soft kiss on his girlfriends forehead before looking back at her.
"I love you Aphmau, and I promise, I'll always protect you."
Aphmau leaned up and gave him a kiss on his nose, looking back like he did.
"I love you too Aaron, and I promise, I'll never hurt you again."
And so their story ended, or as some would say, it just began.
