Rekha's POV:

I left Narmada's house early morning after informing Pavithra aunty as Narmada is still asleep. As soon as I entered, " where were you last night?" anna asked worriedly.

" In my friend's house. I texted you. " I replied casually .

" who is that friend? Do I know her?" He asked, eyeing me skeptically.

" ofcourse you know her. I told you about her five years ago. Narmada is her name. remember her?" I replied and walked to my room. I already decided on what to do next.

" oh, is she the one who" he stopped but I know what he wanted to ask.

" Yes, she's the same girl who you love." I completed his words . He looks like he just got an electric shock. I took it as my chance to escape him.

I got ready in record time and came down to see Hari and anna discussing about some site.

" Rekha, we're leaving. I will be late." anna said and walked with Hari . I too followed them. They looked at me in surprise.

" I am also coming. I told Narmada that I am working in our company. " I announced and took the back seat of the car. I switched on the radio.

" what are you planning to do, Rekha? Don't you dare to hurt her in any ways. She just said what she felt that too politely. She even cried and apologized me" my brother defended her. He thinks I am going to hurt her. it's not his fault as I tend to cause trouble to whoever makes my brother unhappy.

During his college days, He often says that his professor scolded him in his class . So, me being me prank called his professor and flirted with him. I end up with asking him to come and meet me in a secluded park. Then, I called his wife and told her that He has an affair which was really true and told her to the same park to catch him red handed. I took my brother with me to witness the scene. Firstly, the lady I hired didn't turn up. But to my luck, a girl came inside with mobile in her hand . mistaking her as the one who called him, He went to her and started to talk. His wife too came in and saw him trying to flirt. She beat the hell out of him. It serves him right for insulting my brother.

When it comes to him, I will go to any extent. I even pushed my own cousin in the pond as He won the running race against my brother and mocked him in a village festival event.

" no, I am not going to play prank with her. She's my friend, anna. as a matter of fact, My bestfriend. I found her after 5 years. So, have some belief on me." I rolled my eyes and turned away from him. How can he accuse me like that?

" yeah, this time she planned much bigger punishment for her!" Hari said in a lowly voice. Thank god! My brother didn't hear it and I glared at Hari causing him to shut his mouth the entire ride.

While we are near our office, I asked him to stop the car and stepped out.
" I will walk from here. Make a place for me in your cabin ." I replied and took off ,not giving them a chance to retort.
I saw anna driving past me and sighed . I plugged in my headset and walked while listening to songs.

Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulders and I jumped a bit frightened. I removed my headset and turned back.
Narmada's laughters filled my ears. " that was not funny. You scared me." I replied as my heartbeat returns to normal.
" hey, I am sorry. I was calling you. But you didn't turn." She stopped after I showed her my headset.
We walked together to the cafeteria . A girl walk towards Narmada and hugged her.
" how are you, Bri?" Narmada asked after pulling away from her.
" I am fine. Who is she? You already replaced me with her in a day" She asked as We sit on a table near the glass window.
" she's my college bestfriend, Rekha. The one I talked about often." Narmada replied. Seeing my confusion, " uh, Rekha this is Brinda, my friend." She introduced her. Her face turned sour soon.
" hi Narmada. " A guy waved his hand and smiled at her.
" oh god. Here he comes. Does he even work? Always following her like a lost puppy. How annoying!" Brinda said irritatedly.
" that long nose guy ah?why are you so mad about it?" I asked her in a lowly voice.
" oh , he is irritating. He never stops talking and sticks to her like a glue. He is courting her . But our dumb friend is too dumb to realise it " Brinda replied to which I elbowed her gently to stop her rant as he is near.
" hi Shiva. " Narmada greeted him with a smile. His smile dropped on seeing us.

" I just came to inform that I will pick you tomorrow from your house for the movie . Ok, see you. Bye." with that He left the place in a hurry.

" what the hell, Narmada? You agreed to go with him!" Brinda practically yelled.

" yes, just calm down. " Narmada replied , looking down. How can she go with him? No. Not when I am here.

God, please Narmada, don't tell me he's your boyfriend or something else. Let it be just friend. No, I don't even want him anywhere near you.

" Bri, He's my classmate during school and now a friend. So, no harm in going to a movie. I used to accompany you too. " Narmada try to convince Brinda.

"whatever I don't like him.Stay away from him."with that Brinda took off.

" are you not going to ask anything?" She turned towards me as Brinda walked out.

" uh, nothing. It's your wish. Something is off about him. Be careful. I should get going. We will meet at lunch. " I said as I stood up.

" hey, wait. Today is my turn to cook. I cooked and brought food for you too. So, come here at 1 . same table. " Narmada told me happily.

I nodded and walked to the stairs. That Shiva really upset my mood .

"hi hari" I greeted as I entered my brother's cabin. My brother is nowhere to be seen.

" where is he?" I asked as I played in his chair.

" He went to finalize a deal with tiles company. So, You didn't tell her that Udhay is your brother." Hari asked as he sat in a chair opposite to mine.

" how do you know?"

" It's simple . I saw how close you both were at the cafeteria. Had you told her, she would've behaved differently. " He explained.

" hmm. Ok, do you love someone?" I asked him. At first , he nodded then he shook his head confusing me.

" Oh, who is she? " I asked him, suddenly feeling interested.

" I loved but it didn't happen ,all thanks to your brother." He said with a smug smile.

" what? don't tell me , it's Narmada." I said immediately without thinking. He laughed showing his white pearls like teeth.

" no, silly. She's a teacher. whenever I got close to her, your brother will call me and ask me to come . the reason is ofcourse Narmada. He never goes to stalk her alone. " He huffed. Hearing this, I felt strange kind of relief.

Then, We talked about random things. But at the back of my mind, I am still thinking on how to stop Narmada from going with that long nose prick.

Hari left after a while citing he need to visit the construction site at OMR.

" did I miss something?" anna asked me as He entered the room.

Udhay's POV:

I got struck in traffic jam for more than hour . When I reached office, I saw Rekha reading tamil cinema magazine and laughing to herself.

" did I miss something?" I asked her.

" no, shall we go for lunch? I am starving." She replied while rubbing her stomach. I chuckled seeing her . While we got ready to go, I saw Narmada coming inside my office.

" Oh my god! I totally forgot. " Rekha rushed out and spoke with Narmada. Narmada left after handing her a tiffin carrier.

Rekha walked in with a huge grin on her face.

" home food. that too made by my friend." She said as she cleared the table and started to place the tiffin carrier.

My mouth watered at the sight of food infront of me. How can I let it go that too prepared by Narmada.

" Rekha, for me?" I asked her. She looked at me for a while and replied "no"

"I'll do anything you want, just let me eat it. Anything you want. I promise." I literally begged her. She asked me to promise on our mom. I agreed not knowing she has on her mind.

Third Person's POV:

" Shiva, when you yourself own a much big company than this in Singapore, I don't know why you need to pretend like you are working here." Prasanth asked his friend Shiva who is now busy playing Temple run in his mobile. They both are inside a cabin specially allocated to Shiva for time being.

" I have my own reasons, man. Just let me act like I work in your office for a while. Trust me. It's for a good cause. " Shiva replied as he continued playing.

His mobile ring at the same time.

" how is it going so far?" a guy asked him over the mobile.

" it's going well. I am getting close. what about the money you promised ?" Shiva asked in a lowly voice.

" your money will be given to you only when you brings her here after marrying her." with that the line went dead.

as if I will. Once I marry her, I will take away far from here. He thought to himself.
