War
After a few hours of marching I know we're getting close. So when we pass through some trees and I see smoke in the distance I know we've made it.
As I guide my army through a few more bushes, I enter a field and that's when I realize that the rebels have been waiting for us. They heard us coming and now I just led my army into a trap. As I step forwards, so does Echo, the rebel's leader.
"I was hoping we could settle this," I say loud and clear.
"Settle what? It was the King who murdered our people, took away everything we had and even captured my daughter!" Echo yells back clearly angry.
That's when the guard I had given Garvely to earlier stepped forwards still holding her. As Echo saw her I saw her anger falter for a moment.
"Give her back to me!" She yells.
"That's what I came here to talk to you about. I was hoping we could make a deal. Your daughter for the Queen and Prince," I yell loudly so everyone could hear.
As it looks like Echo's thinking about it. She takes a step closer to me and now we're in arms length of each other.
"No." She says sharply and before I can move she takes a knife and slams it into my side. I fall back in pain trying to keep the blood from pouring out and that's when the war starts. Both sides start firing at each other and running towards each other with spears and knives at the ready.
As I can't move Echo moves over me and I know this is probably my last moment. As Echo pulls the knife out of my side I moan in pain.
I watch as carefully as I can through my tear filled eyes as Echo climbs over me.
"I think this counts as settling it quite well," she says before bringing the knife up above her head and getting ready to bring it down right over my heart.
But something stops her. As she slowly puts the knife down I realize she's staring at my dagger. The one Zach gave me.
"STOPPPP!" Echo yells as loud as can be and magically everything goes silent. The battlefield goes silent.
Echo snatches my dagger away from me and holds it up above her head so all the rebels can see the little symbol engraved in the side.
As all the rebels see it. One by one they go down on one knee. As I sit up trying to see more and ignoring the pain, Echo looks at me then stands and faces her people.
"This is the symbol of our ancestors! This is not our battle! These people are not our enemies, they are our allies!" Echo yells and with that the rebels all yell, "Youg Du Ressik Desdi!"
"May the princess ascend!" Echo yells loudly in English this time and I realize that what ever that symbol is. Or was. It saved my life and the rebels follow who ever wears it.
