The Dungeon
I slump down in the corner of the cell. I didn't realize before, but my face is caked in mud and I look like I'm a rebel because I'm in rebel clothes.
I try to bend my leg that got shot, but it hurts too much and it drops back to the ground. I think it might be infected.
"Who are you?" Asks a girls voice. A very young girls voice. Very very young. I didn't realize I wasn't the only person in this cell.
"Ivy," I say. As I look toward where the voice came from, a little girl steps out of the darkness with long blonde hair tied back in a braid and with almost to shreds clothes. As I inspect her face I realize she's covered in mud too.
"Gravely," the little girl says shyly, "so how were you caught?"
"Caught? What do you mean caught? I'm not a rebel," I say making myself clear.
"You sure look like one though and if you weren't you probably shouldn't be locked in here," Gravely points out.
"They think I'm a rebel, but I'm Lady Ivy," I say.
"Your lady Ivy?" She asks amazed.
"Ya. So how were you caught?" I ask.
"I wasn't. I was kidnapped, kinda. The king came to the rebels camp and stole me away from my mom," Gravely says.
"What was your mom's name?" I ask curiously.
"Echo," she says distantly.
I gasp. "Wait, your mom is the leader of the southern rebels?" I ask mind blown.
"Ya. Why have you met her?" Gravely asks.
"I did. She made-" I'm cut off from the door to the cell opening.
"You! The king wants to talk to you," says the guard pointing at me before approaching and grabbing me.
"Good bye," I say to Gravely even though I don't think this will be the last time I see her. I watch as she steps back into the darkness and the cell door is locked again.
The guard grabs me by my shirt and shoves me forward as a sign to start walking, but my leg hurts too much and I fall to the ground. As he kicks me to move, I start crawling so he doesn't hit me again.
