Chapter Three: What Now?

Quick A/U: I made a cover for the story (in case you guys didn't notice) I like how it turned out and I hope you guys do to! Back to the story→
****(Dawn's POV)

"Do you remember?"

Those words kept echoing in my head as Serena stood in front of us with a stupid smile on her pretty face. "Excuse me?" She finally spoke, arching her eye brow.

"I-I mean, about your childhood...or us.." Ash whispered the last two words, now looking down at his feet.

Serena's eyes widened as she took a step back. Had she remembered? Was she really Serena?!

Suddenly she fell to the ground, gripping her head as if it was about to explode.

My eyes widened as Ash stood there not knowing what to do. "Oh my gosh Serena, what's wrong?!" I asked in panic, kneeling down beside her, not knowing if I should touch her or just call for an adult.

Her hair now a mess and her bag on the ground, she looked at me, tears in her eyes. All she did was point to a water bottle beside her bag.

I grabbed the water bottle, from the side of her bag and handed it to her. I made sure to tilt her head up, so she could drink properly, relieved when she seemed to calm down a little bit after drinking the water. Serena began to take big breaths, her body seemed to be growing weaker as she breathed. She started to blink rapidly, her head tilting down every so often. Her body gave in and she fell to the side, I quickly grabbed her before her head hit the dirty ground.

I looked up at Ash, who was still standing up looking shocked. His legs gave in as he kneeled down beside Serena, looking at her face, which was now calm. She was breathing lightly.

"W-what was that?" He asked me.

I brushed a piece of hair out of Serena's face, "I have no idea, but I really hope she's okay." I muttered, her head laying on my thighs.

I sighed, not knowing what to do. Thinking of the best solution, I finally made up my mind, "We better get her home, she has to rest." I reaching over for her bag, putting the water bottle back in it's place.

"How will we know where she lives?" Ash spoke up, putting the pills in her bag.

"If she's the Serena we know, then we both know where she lives." The raven haired boy looked at me worried.

He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, "Yeah, and what if she isn't that Serena?"

We both looked at her, she seemed to be sleeping. I felt bad waking her up, especially after the accident that had occurred moments ago.

"It's wouldn't hurt to try." I mumbled, not looking up at the raven who sighed again.

"Fine, I guess there's nowhere else to take her." He started to get, then it hit me.

"How about your house? Just until she wakes up."

"You're joking right." He out his hands on his hips looking down at me. Ash rolled his eyes, knowing I wasn't joking. "There's no way in hell that I'm taking-"

I felt Serena's head move, "Wh-what happened...?" She quietly said, as she sat up, rubbing her eyes. She looked around, noticing Ash and I. Her cheeks grew red as she realized that she had somewhat fallen alseep. "I'm so sorry! I-I don't know why I fell asleep." She squeezed her eyes closed, as if expecting us to be mad at her. But, does she really not remember what happened a couple of moments ago? "A-ah, I'm sorry for causing any trouble to the both of you. You're families must be worried about you two." Serena looked guilty.

I noticed how Ash's face turned sour, "It's fine." He waved her off, grabbing his bag, which had been tossed onto the ground. "I'll be leaving now." He said coldly, turning around and walking away, pretending nothing had happened.

"Did I say something bad?" Serena asked, worried, her honey blonde hair blowing In the wind.

"That's how he acts, but he's a very nice person deep inside." I assured her. Patting her back, before getting up and picking my bag from the ground.

"Umm..."

"Dawn." She had even forgotten my name.

"Dawn...do you know what happened to me?" Serena asked, not moving from her spot on the ground.

I gulped, "Ash and I saw you laying on the ground and knew we couldn't leave you alone so we decided to wait for you to wake up, that's all." I lied, I had so many questions I wanted to ask her, but knew Ash also wanted the answers to those questions.

"Oh..." Serena stood up, brushing her skirt off, before picking up her bag. "Thank you very much, Dawn." The honey haired girl bowed slightly, before she started to walk. "Have a good night."

"I nodded, "Bye." I waved to her as I made my way home.

The next morning, I quickly got dressed and ate breakfast, trying my best to ignore my mom's glares. She hadn't believed me when I told her I was helping 'the new girl' get to know the school. It wasn't a complete lie, I did help Serena...in a way. My mom probably thought I was with my boyfriend, as if I had one. I chuckled at the thought of my mom accusing me of having a boyfriend, as I made my way to school.

I arrived at school, noticing the same guy I had seen yesterday when I was talking to Ash. He reminded me faintly of someone I knew back in elementary school, but I wasn't surprised, since Ash was clearly friends with this guy. We had never talked, but I had always seen him around Ash. I shrugged it off as I made my way into the school building.

Quickly putting my school shoes on and making my way into the classroom, where I spotted Ash in the same seat he was in yesterday. "Hey," I approached him.

The raven turned around to face me, "Hi."

I nodded, not really knowing what else to say. I wanted to ask him why he suddenly left after Serena woke up yesterday. We both had so many questions to ask her. Yet, I knew it was best if I didn't say anything. We stayed in an awkward silence for a moment, as if both of us thinking about what to say next. I stared down at my black school shoes, now noticing how dirty they were, I made a mental note to clean them once I got home.

"So what did Serena say after I left?" He finally spoke, I looked up to see him facing out the window.

I sighed, "She asked what had happened."

He turned to face me once again. "...and what did you say?" He arched an eyebrow.

"Nothing much, just said we saw her sleeping on the ground and waited for her to wake up." I shrugged.

He huffed, "She actually believed that?"

I frowned, "I guess."

He slowly nodded, before yawning and looking out the window again.

"...so what are we going to do now?"
